Depends on how you define "natural". It started when Cain decided to use the knowledge about spiritual energy to combine it with his phyiscal energy and call a meteorite down to earth, so yeah.

TL;DR: God gave humans the potential to use the magic system and Cain decided to use it then teaching others to do the same.

There is a state besides war? Well, from it's perspective, it's probably at peace, though the legions neighbours are probably of a different opinion there.

BN as a national concept was born relatively recently and is it's nationhood is very much a topic of debate in other countries and maybe even itself.

Canon. Depending on whom you ask, you'll either get 866 AD or 927 AD, but both are indeed before 1000 AD.

I don't really know what you mean by that - we don't have one in the sense that we have a national animal or anything else, and their legality is currently "Banned with exemptions", but we do have presidential security vehicles for official use. I guess it's false.

Depends on what you put it against. Inside the own setting? It's pretty damn strong, on it's own, it's the strongest on the continent. However, if you put it against one from, let's say, the Victorian Era, the Legion would probably be defeated hard. Strength and weakness are relative, after all.
