The answer is a little more complicated than it sounds.

As an organization as a whole, the answer is a very definitive "no". We're an organization with a lot of money and influence behind us, and a very large number of powerful friends (of a wide variety of kinds of power, from political, to influential, to military, to magical). On the macro level, it's not borrowed time: we're simply too wealthy, too connected, and too powerful. If anyone tries shutting us down as a whole, we have options, ranging from extortion (be it bribery, blackmail, or threats of violence), to using our friends to summon bureaucratic red tape, to outright having them killed.

However, at the micro level, this question becomes a lot more juicy and complex. Individual branches of the Airden Cartel do face various disparate threats to their continuity. Any individual branch could face a number of issues. These issues could be external, such as rising political pressure (maybe law enforcement is cracking down a lot harder), political instability (from cults, systemic racism, or civil war), geographical problems (maybe it's hard to smuggle goods into or out of the area due to geography), to threats from wildlife or the like (giant monsters tend to be an issue in a lot of places). These issues could also be internal, such as poor financial management, decreasing recruitment met with increasing death rates, poor negotiations with long-time allies, or even a rigid, inflexible work culture not coming into contact with reality. Any of these can, and do sometimes mean that branches of the cartel may be living on borrowed time... or already on the way out. Typically, the external problems require good management and often outside help to overcome, while the internal problems are solved by changing management. These... aren't always solved well, though, because like any organization, we're made up of people, and people are flawed.
