Scytharum is a pro-life nation that is a Constitutional Federal Republic in which the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the government have similar power to the real-world US. The nation's legislative branch are elected to limited terms while the Imperial Sovereign and Subsovereign are elected for life. Most of local governing is done by the Scythaic Consortiums, coalitions of corporations who could fund police enforcement, public works, and social services while under the supervision of the government to ensure fair treatment. Education is much more decentralized than in the USA, as the UCS government tries to keep itself as absent as possible from classrooms, though a basic curriculum of "True History", a teaching technique in which historical documents are used to allow students to come to their own conclusions, has been legislated.
Finally, I learned that Scytharum, in this world, had declared independence from Britain, just like the US did, meaning it's former British land. Thankfully, in the US, Due to British forces being stretched thin, the British colonies in North America fared poorly against the Thirteen Colonies, who sought to bring them on their side. This led to Canada becoming an independent nation from Britain, no longer being a part of the Commonwealth.
