Despite being neighbors to Wales, the government does not (from where I see it) recognize nor speak the Welsh language, and instead recognize/speak English and Emnian (which i will not go into on this post, but it does sound familiar)

AN: the second national language is Chinese, which is due to immigrants (I assume) from Asia

There national languages are German and Czech, with 65.9% being German and 28.7% being Czech. They are very split between Protestant and Catholic, with 52.2% being Protestant and 47.3% being Catholic.
Now on to there history. They were first mentioned in 1088 by someone of the Frankish dynasty called Welfs. They became to be the Imperial Free City in 1276. They seceded from the Weimar Republic during the Inter-War period.

Novaros is a leading producer of dates, and date agriculture forms the 2nd largest portion of the agricultural economy (dwarfed only by grape production). Datish is a local dish made with ground date, red beans, and hot water. The primary date-producing region in Novaros is located in the south.

Despite its close proximity to to Wales, it appears that even if Celtic migration to Emneshire occurred, it did not occur to a degree that would end in a cultural shift, as the Emnian language as it is known today is linked to Old Emnian, which may have Phoenician origins. Emneshire was not part of Roman Britannia -in fact, Romans didn't even know about it apparently-, becoming a tributary to the Welsh Kingdom of Dyfed before its conquest by the Norse-Gael Kingdom of the Isles. In 1101, it was conquered by the Normans which incorporated it into the Kingdom of England.

The median age in America is almost 40 years, with 25% of the population below 16 years. The largest city in America is New York City (with 20 million), followed by Los Angeles (which has around 13 million). Around 25% of the population is also an immigrant or related to one. There are a total of 37 ethnicites with more than 1 milion Americans, with the largest being English (around 20%) and German (around 17%).

Meadowfields operates - or at least, used to operate - an "ages" system, whereby several years would be classified into historical ages similar to Japan (Jomon period, Asakusa period, etc.). I'm not entirely sure when one age begins and the previous one ends but I have a sniveling suspicion it was either created after the fact by historians or is tied to some monarchical position that used to exist in the country.

Hintuwan's first level administrative divisions are known as Governates (Hintuwanese: Gobernación); within these governates are located Provinces (Lalawigan).

There are eight Governates, which are each allocated 15 parliamentary seats with the notable exception of the Capital Governate, which is allocated 20.

Even though Emneshire considers itself a country, it is mostly a semi-autonomous region of the UK, and therefore doesn't do much, especially with the small land within their ownership

Refugees require a valid Visa for entry into the country. I'm hoping that Classification R is generally liberally used as it would be rather inconvenient to be someone from a war-torn country being forced out of their place of refuge due to a lack of documentation. I guess this is more of an executive decision more than anything else.

The 1949 civil war pitted the Second Republic, backed by foreign imperialists and capitalist interests, against an unusually diverse coalition of royalists, liberals, socialists and communists, united by the cause of genuine Hintuwani independence. The rebels eventually emerged triumphant, establishing what would become the modern Commonwealth of Hintuwan.

Instead of the Spanish funding an expedition led by an Italian to China via the Atlantic, the Umayyad caliphate funded the Andalusian voyage, so it seems that either the Reconquista failed or did not happen.

During the Civil Transition War, revolutionaries called the Antipoverty forces, used propaganda to persuade people to switch sides, but if they did not switch sides, they both respected the opinion and torture/kill them.

In the world of Free Ravensburg, people called the Frankish existed, and a royal dynasty called Frankish in Swabia existed. This would make sense when Ravensburg was first mentioned in writing in 1088 AD. Additionally, by a contract of inheritance, in 1191 AD, the Hohenstaufen Frederick Barbarossa acquired the ownership of Ravensburg from Welf VI, Duke of Spoleto and uncle of both Frederick Barbarossa and Henry the Lion.

The royal line became extinct in 1268 AD due to a lack of heirs to the throne, which therefore brought Ravensburg into the Roman Empire, in which they ruled their nation until 1276 AD where many nations under their control were freed, and that caused Ravensburg to convert into the Imperial Free City.

Finally, in 1803 AD, the Immerwährende Reichstag passed the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss, a bill which included the secularization and medialization of many German states — the first meaning the confiscation of the estates belonging to the church, the second the incorporation of the imperial estates and Imperial Free Cities into larger regional states. As a result, Ravensburg first became a Bavarian exclave within Württemberg.

I will mention, unlike RL history, Ravensburg was essentially the RL Germany, and as such, during WW1 and 2, Hitler and the Nazi Party didn't rule, but the SS was stated to exist throughout late WW2 when they went to the other side of Europe to fight the rebels.

Makko Oko is probably around the size of Eurasia based on the population estimate they give in their factbook (which is allegedly within the billions range). The Emperor is a stubby Asian man who at least on the surface - appears to be an utter megalomaniac. He also tried to run for President once which is... Interesting.

The Hintuwani military employs up to 2.3% of its population in active and reserve service, which is typically a dramatically large portion of the population, and it is relatively strong -both in terms of maritime capabilities and air force- for its size and population.

In their world, World War II is very different from reality. Germany and Japan were on one side with the United States and Britain, while Russia and France, and China were against the United States and Britain. Italy doesn't seem to make much of a difference, and the Soviet Union doesn't exist (instead, there's Statist Russia)

Their Legislative branch has a total of 600 elected seats; 450 in their House and 150 in their Senate.

Frisemark is but a shadow of its former glory in 2022, but its people remain highly industrious and hopeful for the future.

Frisemark, just like Germany and the fellow EU member countries, are facing a transition of changing their energy source from fossil fuels to more eco-friendly and reusable sources like wind or solar. Well, it doesn't seem very likely to success in a short period, when a large percent of electricity generated is still fossil.

Hintuwan was once ruled by a rightist military junta dictatorship in the 1970s to 1986, which suspended democracy of the nation. This was ended following the succeeded and non-bloody Green Revolution.

The majority of the Aquarian population are French-speaking, although several other local languages exist (interestingly, German is referred to by its endonym Deutsch in this section). In the overseas territories, Arabic and Chinese are also spoken.

Much of the population is atheist or irreligious, at about 61% overall. Among the 39% that were religious, Christianity was the largest denomination.

Ooh, the village of Geshrannogh is home to the Emnian Museum of Agriculture, an institution that educates patrons about the history of farming in Emnia. It collects and preserves artifacts, tools, and agricultural machines. Most interestingly, I learned about the word "agistry," which admittedly might not technically be a dictionary word, but it's a reasonable evolution of the word "agistment," which historically is a word, though one that seems to have fallen out of popular usage. Merriam-Webster currently defines "agistment" as "the taking in of livestock for feeding at a specified rate," or "the price paid for or the profit made from agisting livestock." Now that's a $5 word!
