Well, in my personal opinion, indoor farms are better as you can control everything and get the best results so good on them.

Well, if she considers it unimportant then I don't know what to say apart from "okay" because let's not inflate some random title for more than what it is worth.

Just to elaborate on the meme of "birds are not real anymore" in my news ticker:

Ultra realistic avian drones were invented, developed, and utilized during the Imperialists' War (1985 - 1995) as a tool for espionage and reconnaissance. They are either in the shape of birds of prey or local birds (i.e. pigeons in urban areas). There is no solid (declassified) report on how useful they have been during the war but one could believe it is better than nothing.

However, the conspiracy theory was on the rise when the Nuclear Calamity caused several environmental disasters and potentially shifted bird migration routes. Some conspiracy theorists came to believe that some species of birds had been driven to extinction by the nuclear war -- and some governments were releasing avian drones not only to spy on people but also to give an appearance that there was nothing wrong with the nation's ecology.

Entertaining and actually kinda makes sense...scarily.
There already being a precedent of bird drones built for monitoring, being turned on the populace both to monitor and to hide information of impending climate catastrophe, sounds scarily like something a real world government would do.

Fun Fact:
The Black Kingdom's capital, known as the City of Tears, experiences constant "rainfall" due to being built under a lake. Although this once posed a great risk to the architecture of the city, both due to erosion of the buildings and the risk of the ceiling given way, these problems have since been solved due to creation of elaborate seals that preserve the ceiling, and the application of erosion-resistant materials to the buildings.

Furthermore, to preserve the "romantic" aesthetic of the city, specialized "Dreamgates" have been planted over the Blue Lake, the body of water that leaks into the city, that constantly replenishes it by purifying and transporting water from the City's runoff aqueducts to the air over the Blue Lake, enabling a constant replenishing.

Hold up, why would anyone want to build a city under a lake? Non-aquatic people building cities near lakes, sure, aquatic people building cities in a lake, okay, but literally under?

Although vampires are usually considered to fill this universe's niche of attractive, willowy, and long-lived species not unlike elves of other works, there exists a
species that is rarer, and equally attractive, long-lived and powerful, if not moreso - kumiho.

A kumiho's transformation has phases indicated by their number of tails. Usually, one would only use their one-tailed to three-tailed form in fights because they're more often than not, enough. However, when one does go full nine-tailed, run. The primary reason for kumiho to not use their higher forms is because transformation actively consumes Qì based on the phase and most would be exhausted after fighting in five-tailed form and pass out at seven tails.

So, the lake is never stagnant, huh? Best of the both worlds for ya'. Brought by engineering and architecture. Let us just hope and pray, that dreamgates never fail, for this might screw all and everything over. And let's raise our glasses to toast those responsible for their construction, for they did an awesomized feat!

NInja'd
So, it might turn out, that one of the tactics against weaker kumiho is to provoke one into gaining more tails during combat, so he exhausts faster. And if ya' see real nine tailed one, then ya' really gotta run, for he has lots of staina to maintain such a form.

That's generally a good idea for a soldier. You're not always going to be at gunnery range, and melee combat -both with your sidearm/rifle and with other weaponry and even unarmed- is a necessary aspect of any soldier's training. Some (SpecOps) more than others, I suppose.

While France was probably treated the most harshly by the victorious United Nations, and while China probably had the most in wartime losses -in no part because of the sheer savagery of the Japanese Imperial Armed Forces during the Second Sino-Japanese War- one must consider that Russia had the most gruesome fate. In short, a Russian State ceased to exist from 1948 to 1982. This is not to mean that the Victorious Allies met and declared its abolition or anything of the like -in fact no European, Atlantic or Japanese leader set foot on its territory until after the 1980s- but to say that there was simply no central authority to speak of. Five nuclear bombs were dropped on Kiev, Moscow, Tsaritsyn as well as Volga and Dneiper, effectively killing off virtually all Russian leadership, its two most important navigable rivers, some of its largest population centers, and (somewhat more importantly) on the city that the infrastructure as a whole entirely depended on. Russia fell apart at the seams with every warlord taking over whatever area he could control with their forces. Europeans did establish a client-state with St. Petersburg as its capital, but left it to its own, all-but blocking their borders with the Russians and shooting anything that got close. By the time the All-Russian Front to Restore the Fatherland had found victory and managed to unify Russia put together, the whole land had gone through four decades of near-total chaos. And even afterwards, their industry, infrastructure and military capabilities leave much to be desired: There are Tankery High School Teams in Japan that are better equipped than the Russian Tank Corps, and those clubs use WWII and Cold War era tanks.

Sheesh. This just goes to show how utterly despicable WMD's are when they get to be used, instead of just a showpiece that forces other nations to back off. Impersonal, destructive, and indiscriminate.

The Ecumenopolis of Skal Vinos is a federal parliamentary republic, in which an elected oligarchy – the Visdym Sho'el – works in tandem alongside a democratically-elected government. As the nation was created as a means to support the Colleges' research, the Cotedym dus Zumtu – the managerial arm of the Colleges – are vested significant legislative and executive power it may exercise within Vinos, something they would then use to form the current government before stepping back into an advisory role.

The citizens of Vinos are subject to four levels of government: patronal, federal, collegiate, and local.

Patronal Government: The President and the Genius Loci, while considered a de jure part of the federal government, are not leaders in the sense that they lead nor manage the country. The two sometimes interdict meetings and push a law into existence if they see the need to, but they rarely define Vinoan decision-making in their ingrained non-interventionism. Regardless, as patrons of the Vinoans, the government often allowed the two to do whatever they want just so their backing would not be pulled away.

Federal Government: Headquartered in Medae Roy, the Visdym Sho'el act as the central power from which the other, lesser bodies draw their legitimacy. Much like the patronal government, at the federal level Vinos runs so smoothly that, despite the Sho'el's all-encompassing rights and responsibilities, there was little need for them to assemble nor exercise their power in any official capacity.

Collegiate Government: The collegiate government administers the Five Colleges of Vinos. Headed by the Visdym Sho'el, who are elected into position at the Colleges' vote, this level of government are responsible for the education, research progress (and other scientific endeavors), peacekeeping, and external affairs of the ecumenopolis. Headquartered in Medae Roy.

Local Government: Headed by the Visdym Medae and composed of the various corporate managers and locally-appointed chiefs, the local government manages all of the nation's non-collegiate issues and non-collegiate organizations within Vinos. The local government is divided into four prefectures, responsible for each of the four archipelagos occupying the realm of Vinos.

Great! Federal Countries! They may be politically unequal in power distribution, but damn, are they well organized.

Cavirfi uses the Icelandic model of gun control; In which guns are rated based on their firepower and put under different licensing categories. So for example, one cannot just own a P-9mm (a pistol) and an AK47 (an assault rifle) at the same time, it would take 4 YEARS to own both guns, because of this licensing system.

Huh, interesting. They do the mandatory seminar things, right?

AI considered 'smart' in New Albania is strictly forbidden, as the self-replicating machine referred to as the Animus has proven itself quite capable of spreading through artificial intelligence, having its origins in the synthetic defense grid that pre-nuked albania established before it, well, had to nuke itself.

As an alternative, brain plug-ins are utilized in the place of where would you expect to find an artificial intelligence program. Drones, supercomputers, some weapon systems, etc.

dumb ai is fine tho

Yay, I can still use Cleverbot! I mean, sure, might hold back technology for a while, but y'know, who cares? Cleverbot!

DATELINE: 8/12/1999

A CNLA insurgent by the name of Treeve Penhallow was apprehended by police after having physically assaulted Princess Beatrice of York and Prince Andrew during a visit to Truro. The following is a documented transcript of the interrogation by Constable Elizabeth Trowley as to why he committed his crimes.

CONSTABLE: So, mate... you did something pretty sickening today, I heard. What was that, may I a-

TREEVE: I punched the Princess and his cunt dad Prince in the face. Why do you need to know? You cunts have enough proof as it is.

CONSTABLE: We need to know why you assaulted members of the Royal Family, Mr. Penhallow. You realise how serious this is?

TREEVE: Yeah, so what? She had it coming.

CONSTABLE: She's only 11 and you savagely ran up and assaulted her and her father!

TREEVE: Don't say it like that. I got, what, one punch in on each of 'em? It's not like it's my daugh-

CONSTABLE: You assaulted a child!

TREEVE: Thi- this is simply the English monarchy getting what it rightfully deserves!

CONSTABLE: What do you mean it's getting what it deserves? What has Her Majesty done wrong to you, may I ask?

*Treeve then aggressively points to a badge on his chest depicting the Cornish coat-of-arms.*

TREEVE: Can't ye see the fuckin' badge? I'm CNLA, mate!

CONSTABLE: Well, I know from experience that a CNLA operative would have definitely tried to kill her rather than just punch her for sick kicks.

TREEVE: Alright, first off, lass, No True Scotsman right there. Second, we were actually trying to kill her. We were going to have suicide bombers and everything, but they all fucked off to the premiere of 'The Matrix'. The only other guy who joined me had a sniper rifle, and that would've gotten the job done had he not had a fuckin' anxiety attack in class.

CONSTABLE: In class?

TREEVE: Aye, poor lass was a high-school girl who got peer pressured by her friends. Right in that building across. Had a pretty good shot, too, but she started hyperventilating, she pissed herself and she fainted. Then it was all up to me.

CONSTABLE: And what were you supposed to do?

TREEVE: I was last resort. That pocket knife you got from me was meant for Beatrice's throat, but the damn thing was stuck closed. Couldn't open it in time before you lot noticed me, so I clocked the bitch in the face.

CONSTABLE: Alright, motive, check... who was involved in this plot, may I ask?

TREEVE: Depends. Get me my lawyer and we'll find out.

Well, if the Prince Andrew mentioned here is the Prince Andrew we have in real life, he had it coming.

The Deleanian Special Cases Police Department (DSCPD) is the secret police force of Deleania and its Empire. However, actually calling it the secret police around anyone loyal to Deleania is a notably unwise decision, as only the Resistance calls it the secret police and, as one might imagine, Deleania does not take kindly to resistance to its rule.
The DSCPD, although technically a branch of the Deleanian Civil Police, now rivals its parent organisation in size and operational success throughout the Empire. It wasn't actually supposed to be this big originally - before the Civil War Period, in which a series of events caused global unrest and civil wars around the globe, the Deleanian Continent was actually made up of three meganations, all somewhat shady in nature, but tame in comparison to Deleania. The only thing that kept the three from going to war was the knowledge that they would surely all destroy each other and themselves in the process. This meant that the DSCPD could only operate in Deleania, and there was little hope of expansion.
However, after the Civil War Period, the two neighbouring meganations to Deleania broke up into many smaller nations. Deleania did not break up through the use of some slightly questionable methods. This division and general breakdown of military and defence in the new smaller nations allowed the Deleanian Continental Conquest to begin, and as the Empire expanded, the DSCPD needed to grow to cover such a large area. Now, as the Conquest draws to a close and nearly the entire continent is under Emperor Alexander's command, the DSCPD rivals the Civil Police in size.
NS stats not canon.
However, feel free to use them when judging the nation for Forum 7 threads.

Nation does not represent my views.

Secret police of this kind and scale are not the production of righteous and fair states, only those who embrace tyranny and wage terror upon its own people. Should there be any breakup or change towards humanity within Deleania, the DSCPD must be abolished and its members charged and punished for all their crimes against the species.
Since the prophesied return of King Arthur and his coronation as King of Albion and all her people, there have been a significant rise in chivalric organisations and orders whom the King is patron of. One of these is the Brotherly Society of Knights of the Mission of Christ the Saviour. As well as providing humanitarian aid and charity work in Albion and abroad, it also engages in Christian proselytism in all continents of the Earth.

However there is an anti-Islamic sentiment within the Brotherly Society over the prosecution of missionaries and Christian neophytes by Islamic countries, in particular Saudi Arabia, Syria and Pakistan. The Brotherly Society helps to smuggle neophytes and their families out of these states to the Isles, where they’re supported in obtaining housing and integration into communities where they can be safe and practise their Christian faith.

Oh well, can't control everything in life, right islams?

While wandering the snow in January 19th, 3031, Whitty saw... well, himself. He was making a poll to see what the name and flag of the country should be. The others said that bad things might happen if he sees his past self, but Whitty said "pfft, that's just in movies.". Whitty goes over and talks to himself, saying that he should make the country's name Wingfand and make the flag blue, insteead of Bloodfand, which was the tyrant nation. Also since there was already another Shadonyazal, the first Shadonyazal got overthrown and changed it's name to Bloodsail. A few years later, the Whitty who owned Wingfand was overthrown and killed. That didn't stop the Whitty who owned Shadonyazal from living, though.

How...strange. I don't quite understand what went on there, I'll admit, but its an interesting story nonetheless.

In the later years of the Dawnbreaker's War, the Old Black Kingdom's populace fled into the Abyss to escape the Radiance's wrath, using the Void as a shield against Her wretched Dream-Plague.

It is in these dark depths that the last, and ultimate, achievement of the Ancients would be constructed. The Umbral Citadel, a vast city constructed over the Voidsea that used the highest achievements of the Arcane. Vast Soul-powered sigils formed wards over the gates to the Citadel, keeping would-be intruders at bay. Void-powered contraptions sailed along canals of liquid shadow, and the entire construct was home to throngs of thousands.

Unfortunately, this city would be lost after the death of the previous Lord of Shades. The God's death would mean the dissolution of the Void's unity, causing the Citadel to be dragged into the Sea on tendrils of darkness. It rests on the Voidsea's floor to this day, its sigils slowly leaking Void into the construct, forever trapping it in a stasis as the sheer abundance of Void around it causes time to slow and warp. None have journeyed to the Citadel's resting spot due to its location, but records exist nonetheless of the city's marvellous architecture.

A pitiful, regrettable loss for Black civilisation, no doubt. Such a construct must’ve been marvellous in its heyday, and though its buildings may yet stand, it isn’t the same without its people and now its new location.
The name “Versilia” (as well as its variations) is an exonym only used by non-Versilians. Similar to how foreigners called Iran “Persia”, yet had always been called “Iran” by the local populations. ‘Versilia’ comes from Old Norse várs, meaning “we”, and Europeans misunderstood this when first encountering Versilia during the ages of European exploration. Initially it was called “Versia” by Europeans, which then became “Versilia”. Icelanders, Norwegians and Danes call Versilia Grænland or Grønland, as it was known before vampires (whom call themselves álfar) assumed full control of society on the landmass.

The country is called Værsland by Versilians, also stemming from várs.

Why would the Vampires not name their country Alfarland or something of that kind? Værsland sounds like it'd translate into 'Our land' which, ok fair enough. Alternatively, given Europeans probably all made contact with Greenland through Scandinavia, why don't more Europeans call it Greenland?
Unlike real life, "Newfoundland" does not refer to any specific region in North America. As with real life, it originates from a comment made by a King (here, Hrothgar I of the Danelaw), who said that Cabot's discoveries were a 'New founde lande', but that name never stuck. Unlike real life, Anglo-Danes could never colonise what is in real life Newfoundland, which was instead colonised by the Irish and named New Ireland. The name was only brought back during the latter years of the cold war between the Danelaw and the newly-erected Kingdom of New Scotland where the Anglo-Danish government explicitly refused to open any negotiations with a state that could hold a claim on Scotland, which the Danelaw had recently conquered. As the administration of New Scotland feared that without a standing peace treaty they would inevitably be subsumed into the Anglo-Danish colonies, they readily accepted, and "Newfoundland" was decided as a perfectly neutral name to call the whole kingdom (which controls all Maritime Provinces in addition to Anticosti Island, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and the island of Newfoundland).

I mean, Vaesiland sounds close enough to Versilia anyways. I can see how Versilia can be just a Latinised name, instead of being a full exonym.

AN: Why did the Anglo-Danes let Newfoundland, or at the time New Scotland? Did they simply lack the power to actually do anything about it?

In Nacrad, the word "refugee" is avoided in many official instances, such as the newest "refugee camps", the Shek Kong Displaced Persons Housing and Reception Facility or the Linping DIsplaced Persons Facility. This is a little bit more than just political correctness though, as the word "refugee" is used at least by some in Nacrad as a slur against Vietnamese people, a relic from the Indochinese Refugee Crisis in the 70s to 80s. Additionally, the words "Bat nau tu nay", meaning "from now on" in Vietnamese, is also used as a slur in certain contexts of Nacradian English.

I see. It makes sense that they would avoid the word refugee if it is sometimes used as a slur against the Vietnamese people. How common is prejudice against the Vietnamese in Nacrad? I'm not entirely sure what the current canon year in Nacrad is, so I'm not sure how long ago 70s to 80s is.

In the world of Soviet Progonya, the more proficient someone becomes at using ARCANE, the more disassociated their soul and body get, and the more susceptible they are to glitches in the world. If this gets extreme enough, it may kill them outright. Everyone is able to access ARCANE but the general population only uses it as a utility (for example to light cigs or to do house work), but there are rumours of there being organisation in close contact of the leader who are highly adept at using ARCANE. Speculation on what their abilities are range from speaking with the dead to being able to "sense" traitors and whether or not someone is lying.

Nation doesn't represent my views. It's a post apocalyptic nation located in a megastructure with reality breaks and magic. NS stats aren't canon.
Soviet Progonya is a nation that exists entirely in the confines of the Monolith, as the entire outside world is uninhabitable due to the effects of nuclear war.
