The cold blue and piercing white instantly sells me on the North Sea island theme, and the design is very credible as a real design. 9/10

7/10 pretty simple design that does the job well, the only thing that bothers is the yellow and white together but it's still pretty nice

5/10. Uses colours definitely not usually seen on a flag, and does so quite effectively, but the entire flag is very dark owing to the lack of metals, especially between the colours of the flag. The composition is very interesting, but the real circle is just kind of "there". Nice, but could use some refinement.

6/10. It's a good flag an all with a nice element in the circle that I quite like, but I feel the red bands on a white background on the flag are misaligned. I recommend moving that bit up to the center of the flag, and it'll look better.

Personally, I love the colours; the yellow and black contrast each other nicely and make for a pleasing and distinctive colour scheme. Normally I have an issue with seals on flags, but I don't think it's a problem in this case since the seal isn't too complicated and I like its size and central placement. Overall, I'd give 9/10.

The symbol and the revolutionary style look good. I just wish there was better contrast between the red and orange stripes.

The red and orange stripes lack enough contrast to be clear. It would still work with just one of those colors. Also, the colors are rather saturated and simple, and a bit more deviation would create more character.

The silhouette is a bit too big, and appears to be cut off partially.

Other than that, it’s a good flag.

5.5/10, its relatively okay for a flag. The red star and gears are solid, but remove that and its basically IRL Nigeria. Not telling you to go straight up Soviet or anything (that would be worse) but it'll need more bling to distinguish itself to me.

Maybe add some Pan-African colours? Idk, you do you.

Giving this a 9/10. It's a common complaint about this flag is that the element in the center is too complicated. I myself do not have this complaint. However, those bits on the shield just feel a little off. Perhaps consider using something else or perhaps remove them? That's just my opinion.

4/10. It's a tad dark in all, and while your central symbol and saltire are fimbriated, they are fimbriated with other colours, violating the rule of tincture. The rifle on the flag is in higher resolution than the rest of the flag, and a different shade of blue. There is promise there, I'm just not feeling the flag as-is.

i have no idea what "fimbriated" and the "rule of tincture" is supposed to mean and why that would subtract

AN: I've done your flag before, and it seems you haven't changed it since last I reviewed it. Going to give it the similar rating of 10/10 for the charm of the simplicity, the nice color scheme, and giving off the feel of what your nation is.

Fimbriation is the placement of small strips of contrasting tincture around an element of a flag. A key example is the flag of the UK, where the red crosses are fimbriated with white. Usually, if an element is in a colour (black, red, green, blue or purple are the standard ones) on a coloured field then the fimbriation will be in a metal (white or gold), and vice versa. The fact that you have a field of black and a nicely contrasting cross of white, but have fimbriated it with a very dark shade of blue violates the rule of tincture (don't put colours directly on top of colours, or metals directly on top of metals), and makes the black blend into the blue.

My flag also violates the rule of tincture, so you know, as I felt an additional fimbriation around my black elements to distinguish them from the green would only confuse things more. At the end of the day, vexillological rules like the rule of tincture are only suggestions. Sometimes violating the rule of tincture works (such as on the banner of the Kingdom of Jerusalem or the flag of Albania), but in my personal aesthetic opinion, I don't think it works on your flag. Sorry if I caused any confusion, I hope that cleared things up. It wasn't the rule of tincture or the fimbriation that dragged your rating down, it was just the overall effect I got from your flag.
