Hola The Saucer Pilots, salutations. I have a couple of questions for you here:
1. We are informed that Charles "Charlie" Kattenby is involved heavily in reverse-engineering Dominion flying saucers, and carries out his work daily. Given that he is doing so, what does he see as the ultimate end goal of this reverse-engineering process? Does he see this as being merely a defensive card to play, or more of a boost to what he may see as an inevitable clash of the US and the Air Domain? Do any potential feelings that he has towards Nova affect his stance on the Domain's existence?
2. Charlie and Nova are noted multiple times to be very close, at the very least great friends, and that their pursuing any closer of a bond could raise eyebrows. Are the two of them profoundly impacted by this (as Charlie seems to be by his referenced "awkward phrasing" that sanctioned Nova's punch to his gut)? Who specifically around them are most concerned about the potential crisis that could emerge from the bond between the two?
3. The Type 2667 Dessert Ration is mentioned as a central part of one of the factbooks, stating that it is the typical "morale booster" of the Air Fleet. Have humans seen this anomaly before, and, if so, have they pointed it out as being akin to the similar-looking cookie/biscuit?
4. In the section about Alan Grimes in "Notable People", it is stated that he views the Domain with animosity, specifically citing his uneasiness at how it treated America, the prime superpower of the world at the time, as a backwards banana republic, one to be pitied by the Domain. Is this view of his a common one in the present-day Area 51, whether vocalized or not, or is he in the minority when it comes to US opinion of the Dominion?
5. Last question, because I have to ask, a question about two places. How have Latin America and the USSR changed in this timeline? Is Latin America more or less free on account of pressure on the US from the Air Domain, or is it hardly affected at all? Does the Soviet Union still exist as a competitor to the Americans, or has the Cold War proceeded largely as it did in our timeline?
6. I recall reading that the Domain only really deals with Earth through the US; that said, is the rest of the world unaffected, or is American foreign policy massively changed? With America on the receiving end of being treated as a backwater, by Grimes's assertion, has this subtly influenced how America deals with its allies and enemies on the global stage, such as an alternate Cuban Missile Crisis and/or Berlin Crisis?
Take your time answering these questions, and thank you for your time reading them.
