BN: Honestly, pretty sure it just sorta happened, not sure why, but they are really cool, so that probably had something to do with.it. I guess wanting an underwater theocratic republic probably made it necessary, though.

My favorite political figure is Che Guevara, for the following three reasons, among many others

1: Still a revolutionary icon to this day
2: Unique among revolutionary figures, the status quo both demonizes(lies to make him seem pure evil, like Stalin Mao etc) and pacifies him(turned into, in Lenin's words, a "harmless icon" like Debs or MLK)

in truth, when I first joined nationstates, I had no idea how it worked and I thought it was more strictly with human society. Then upon learning I realized that for a country to exist in this nation, it is not needed to be full of humans, and so I combined what I love of politics with what I love in general.

So, I'd say a major influence were the polytheistic deities of the Eastern Mediterranean- specifically, the Greek and Mesopotamian ones- as they're the ones I'm most familiar with. Obviously, the elven countries were inspired by Tolkien- though I plan on pulling a little from some of the myths surrounding Mithridates. The beast-men were inspired by Enkidu- though, they're not made of clay. The bird- and bee-people of Qitosedeyu were just for the pun, mostly, although I'm sure I could find something more if they're ever important. The bird-people of Odofeza- Japan and Zerzura. The snake-folk were inspired by Indo-Iranian, as well as Celtic, mythology. The Arru and Tantu are mostly just Lovecraft. I have some other, vague, ideas, but those are the only ones I've figured out how to do right now.

What is YOUR favorite anime?

That is a very difficult question. I couldn't decide by virtue of a sole show. I'd be torn between Made in Abyss because I find it inspiring and also Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (1990). The latter ranks really high up there because I'm a sucker for 19th Century sci-fi which it alludes to and the use of Ancient Aliens, Atlantis and ancient superweapons as plot devices are also very enjoyable for me, as I tend to like things like Indiana Jones. /SKIP ME

1. I believe you mean "cram for the exam that will literally decide if I starve to death or barely get by season".

2. Originally I conceived Nacrad as an European state (hence the retconned Russian etymology and anglicised place names), but I realised that since I live in Southern China it's easier to make Nacrad there as an ex-British colony. The fact that I myself live in an ex-British colony in the Far East totally had no part to have inspired me too.
