Hiya, Feyris

1. Even though I enjoy character building and what not, I do struggle with it, whether female or male. Though, I guess I do find female characters easier to write? Especially with most of the inspirations I draw from.
2. Koshka/Reaper One is the main character of this nation. She is the squadron lead. I would reply more as the others, but usually I get into the mindset of replying as koshka more often, lol. Writing her bitter responses is a bit easier with the way some of these threads play out :P
3. I still consider Azur my main nation. I haven't thrown away my other nations. It's just, I've mainly started to lurk around F7 instead of replying often. It's become a bit more difficult to form responses, which is why I haven't really posted much as Azur Deutschland or Revolutionare DDR. (Plus, in RDDR's case, I still would want to give it a solid rewrite before replying as it again). Some of the newer nations, like PIECE, were little thoughts I had in my head that I still haven't really thought more about. Maybe someday I'll get around to giving them content.

1. Well basically, I had to write what amounted to an alt-history paper in high school, 2016. The outline of the task was to write a fictional event about New Zealand's history. I wrote "The Great Split" or something where basically the bi-cultural experiment failed and the Maori and Europeans went their separate ways with the nation being divided (conveniently, thanks to geography) in half between the two groups. I wrote a bit more about it over the years but obviously never used it for anything since I'd left high school at the end of 2016. Drongonia is basically the continuation of The Great Split.

2. Truly, the lore isn't finished. But if you're talking about how it sits currently, probably about 18 months on and off between 2019 - 2020. Some of it came from the aforementioned paper I wrote, but most of it was just written "freehand" with no prior preparation so to speak.

3. Yes I do, but I don't have any specific ideas as of yet. The only issue is that I currently only have five and I've only just caught up on four of them (as of today) and the LGBT+ Rights Index is about three months behind. Not sure if it's worth making another index just to not keep it up to date.

1. Yes, as the Dispatch itself suggests, it is an EUIV mod. I also gave more screenshots of it in that Discord server.
2. It's unclear exactly what Wikipedia suggests in "moving one's birthday", but this could refer to a lot of things within Feyris culture. The first is probably the "Feyris age reckoning system", in which girls count their age not using their birthdays but round off to the nearest year by New Year, similar to the Vietnamese age reckoning system. Another is that it's common for girls to move their birthdays if it falls on a major holiday, either to the day before or after. Birthdays however do not just arbitrarily move to someone's whim.

As for High Princess Ryeisse Schyi Yuri, its unclear what exactly the case is as there is no Feyris holiday that falls on June 15 or 17 or near that time period. But as with a head of state of a secretive government, there could be lots of opaqueness going on with her exact date of birth.

1. It's well worth to be noting that Feyrisshire stopped being very religious after the 18th to 19th century, with a dominant trend of rationalism and religious liberalism in Ryeifinism, so the previous mentality of reverence to the Faerie Nature-Goddesses has long stopped by the modern era. This does not mean that Ryeifinist mentalities have not survived in the modern era, on the contrary they do.

For nuclear weapons, there is indeed lots of religious and spiritual Ryeifinist influence on the issue, but on the reverse side. The nuclear weapon was hailed as the "fire of Aerifyu" by the Ryeifinist Temple during the 1990s, and prayers and blessings were dedicated by Priestesses and High Priestesses to personnel involved in the nuclear program, facilities and nuclear weapons tests. Anytime a nuclear test was conducted, Priestesses and High Priestesses would pray incantations to the Faerie-Goddess of fire Aerifyu for its success, who was reinterpreted in the modern era as the "Faerie-Goddess of rocketry, missiles and nuclear weaponry". The first nuclear weapons test was dedicated to her honor (A portrait of Aerifyu was displayed in the site of the first Feyris nuclear weapons test).

As stated above, the video games and anime ban is more of a blanket ban of all Japanese media rather than a specific ban of any video game or anime. To the Feyris censors, "Japan being an imperialist and a capitalist country hostile to Feyrisshire" is the problem here, and not the content of any anime, video game or hentai.

4. Yes! The Feyris video games industry is reported to be vibrant and fledgling. It is characterized by state-owned video game companies, ad-hoc private cooperatives and groups, and indies, which seems to dominate. Indies are reported to be like in the West, but it is common for people in schools and workplaces to form clubs and associations for making video games. The biggest glaring difference with Western or Japanese video game industry is the lack of private enterprise and profit-oriented sale - most video games seem to be made for recreation and amusement for both its makers and users, for artistic value, or propaganda. Suffice to say, there are no "DLCs" or "microtransactions" in the socialist video game industry of Feyrisshire.

The quality of the games seem to be hit-and-miss, not only due to lack of professionalization, standards and dominance of amateurish production, but also lack of high-quality computer hardware, even though Feyris video game developers are said to be not lacking in talent, creativity or coding and programming skills. Due to embargos and resource shortages, hardware such as CPUs, GPUs and dedicated video cards are in short supply in Feyrisshire meaning that Feyris video games could not run up to recent graphics standards in the West, and seems to be 5-10 years behind in software and hardware. Nonetheless, according to Western video game critics, this enabled Feyris video games to rely more on creativity to compensate for bad software and hardware quality, and allowed them to have a unique charm for them.

As for the content, Western video game critics are surprised that there is a diversity of video game genres in what supposedly in an authoritarian Communist country! And this isolation seemed to what allowed its uniqueness compared to Western and Japanese video games. Contrary to initial suspicions, most of the video games are not made for Communist propaganda or political messaging, but are for amusement and recreation, just like in the West or Japan.

For the platform, PC seems to be the dominant medium. It is noted that video game consoles or handheld gaming switches, such as Nintendo Switch or Wii are absent or if not, rare in Feyrisshire.

Some video game genres or tropes are unique and seem to have no parallel in West or Japan. There is also the game "Calculator", in which the game starts out as a calculator (like a calculator where you compute), but then turns into a slasher action, horror or survival horror (the game shifts perspective and view), or even a hentai sex game after you click too much buttons on the calculator (This game is surreal and hard to explain).

There are some notable games to come out in recent years - one notable game from Feyrisshire is ""First of the Unfallen" (Feyris name: Ichizhefow Teidyogyeiheid) which is a wide-open sandbox game with RPG elements. Its story is focused on Riyana, a pink-haired sexy mysterious girl and her female companion black-haired with hime cut Kirie as they travel through a mysterious world called "Mirror" in a post-apocalyptic world, which started as an adaptation of the webcomic of the same name.

5. Feyris literature probably has an analogue of it, even though its not comics like in the said examples. One analogue is Feyris novels, such as the "Six Girls and the Zeltarites", the seminal work of Feyris contemporary literature which was written in 1956, and responsible for a lot of tropes underpinning Feyris contemporary pop culture.

Another perhaps is the "Feyris picture book", which is like a light novel, but with more illustrations and text and cutesy, flowery and colorful designs on its borders with cute frogs and candies strewn around (This cute border is hard to replicate on digital formats such as PDF). Then the illustrations, which are skillfully crafted (with lots of creative designs, such as optical illusions of them popping out or 3D carving) are interspersed with the text. The difference with the East Asian traditions of manga, manhwa and manhua is that in "Feyris picture book", the book is also often a work of art just as much as the content.
