I tend to use documents on my computer to write down things about the nation rather than NS factbooks, as it's easier for me to format and manage that way and I don't tend to do much roleplaying in the wider community anyways. This method also allows me to go into detail about other connected nations without having to create more accounts for puppets and the like.

The flag is based on a design I had once made for an empire in Stellaris! It's a strategy game. Basically this nation is inspired by that empire, and I always identified the black and yellow colours with the Remans. The sun is meant to represent their worship of their sun as a deity, and the golden colour is a part of that. The black is for the fact that they are a stellar empire, and the pattern of golden yellow and black is meant to invoke the image of rays of sunlight :)

Hello Lumio Magika!

I've looked through your various factbooks for the sole reason of asking my following question... I must say, there isn't much content currently, but the potential proves to be quite promising!
I shall ask two questions... One that is more optional than the other, so there's that...

Here goes! :

Firstly, I have looked at Prince Aelin Skybourne's biographical factbook, and you seem to be on the way to creating an interesting, potentially captivating character... But for now, I find myself intrigued by the idea that, though Aelin openly supports the Monarchy of Lumio Magika, and looks to strengthen it whenever possible, he also takes part in... Less Royal sounding hobbies, and even going as far as to request to be treated like a normal citizen to the people he stumbles into whilst performing such hobbies...

What is it that Aelin Skybourne supports about his Monarchy in particular? Is it the Absolutist premise, the spiritual meaning, or perhaps something completely different? And perhaps you can provide some more information on his particular hobbies, and in addition why he attempts to appeal to the common man and women as one of them at many instances?

Secondly, and Lastly, I would assume (By the appearance shown of Aelin Skybourne) that your Sylvan Race is Elven based, shown by the pointy ears and the such... Is there anything that separates the Sylvan from other common depictions of Elves within stories and media? If so, what would it be that makes the race unique?

Good seeing you Lumio Magika. I look forward to see how your nation develops, and if you have any questions of your own, perhaps even requests, my Telegrams are always open!

Ah, balls... Seems I got ninja/d again (Typical LMAO)

Okay, Zeloria... Let me think of a question.

Sooooo, this Saurian Empire (I bet it's a topic you get asked a lot about HaHa...) I have two questions on them...
Is there any elaboration on what happened to the Saurians of Terra before the rise of men? You had established that they were genetically altered in some way by mysterious aliens, and this gives me plenty of questions... Is there any idea on who these 'Mysterious Aliens' were, or perhaps even are? What interest did they have in Earthly fauna? What did they hope to gain?

And onto the Saurians themselves... How did they get from Earth to their current location? And from there, what processes led to their expansion into an interstellar empire?

Second question... I assume that the Saurian Empire is based somewhat on the 'Japanese Empire' of WW2, as proven by the Army/Navy rivalry, Absolutism and lack of care for other species...
Am I correct in that assumption? And if so, why did you choose to create an interstellar Empire based on the Empire of the Rising Sun?

Hi! Long time no see:

How does the culture in Tsartvo Alyaski compare to its cousin across the Strait? Additionally, what is its relationship with Canada and the United States?

Long time no see indeed Insaanistan... I've seen you active every now and again.
(Also I like your new flag better than the last one I saw, just saying!)

Onto your question...
Well, first of all, Canada is one of, if not the closest international friend to Tsarstvo Alyaski... That is only natural, as they are the only land border that they have...

In addition, House Windsor has a place within Canada, and Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of Canada as well as the United Kingdom... And the Romanov and Windsor family are distant cousins...
(Fun fact, Canada actually control Juneau in this universe!)

The United States of America has a cordial relationship with Tsarstvo Alyaski, and has had since the 1930's... In fact, Alyaskiri soldiers supported the Americans in the Pacific War. Tsarstvo Alyaski sent a force to serve as an expeditionary force to the United States, and these soldiers helped in the Island Hopping campaigns against the Japanese Empire...
In the modern day, relations have gotten somewhat strained however... This is due to their lack of universal, or free healthcare, their undemocratic (esque) government, and modern imperialism...

Onto your first question. Russian Alyaskiri are very similar to their Russian counterparts on the Mainland... There is only small differences, due to interbreeding with Native Americans and the such...
There is similarity in Alyaski and Russian Federation culture, however there is also Native American Inuit and Anglo culture that can be seen within the nation as well...

Thanks for the questions...

Aelin supports the monarchy so strongly due to his belief that democracy is not the proper way to run a country. He has visited many countries in his diplomatic career and has observed their processes firsthand. In this time, he observed that the democratic processes of others are often slow and arduous, fraught with corruption, or rendered useless by fillibusters. He champions his monarchy on the belief that it avoids such things- a good monarch would be able to govern their people without corruption or undue processes. He works to instill it in his son from an early age, so the monarchy can continue to remain pure for future generations.

As to why he appeals to his peoples as a normal person, he believes that a monarch is not a special person. He views himself as a normal citizen of Lumio Magika, simply doing his best to lead his country. As for his hobbies, there are many. When he is not in the Lapis Lazuli Palace or working as a psychologist, he does many things. Chief among them is spending time with his husband (his son is still too young to do anything, being an infant of less than a year old.) The two often wander the streets of Lapis Lazuli, conversing with the citizens and helping when they are needed. They are known to appear in seemingly random places, from a carnival to a fast-food restaurant (which is a source of amusement for them, as the owners often spit-take when they walk in). When he is at his residence, Aelin is often doing something quite strange for one such as him- scrolling Discord. He serves as a moderator on just over a dozen servers, and is often seen performing his regular duties there. Other times, he may be seen playing a game with his husband (both digital and traditional). Three days of the week, the royal couple is in the Lapis Lazuli Palace, spending time with their son.

As for what separates the Sylvan race from traditional elves, I don't know yet. I haven't had time to devise the lore and background for them, due to the health concerns mentioned previously.

Yes, there is.

The red represents Gandoor's official ideology of democratic market socialism (although I should state that IC-wise, Gandoor does not consider itself to be a socialist state, as transitioning to a socialist economic system is officially considered the ideological goal of the nation [as the Gandoorese constitution makes several references to working towards the establishment of a socialist economic system], but not anything that has been achieved. Also, only one of our two major parties still actively supports the gradual transitioning from capitalism to socialism)

The eight yellow stars arranged in a circle represent Gandoor's eight administrative divisions.

The central eight-pointed star represents the central government that ultimately unifies and governs the administrative divisions and Gandoor as a whole.

So I see there is some kind of misunderstanding about the Saurians as a result of a retcon that hasn't really be fully implemented yet in the factbooks. So saurians and dinosaurs are two entirely different species that just so happens to look like each other. The Earth dinosaurs went extinct as a result of the meteor, but were eventually brought back by Zelorian scientists. After the First Dinosaur War, the Zelorians put them on a ringworld. The Second Dinosaur War happened because the alien saurians wanted the earth dinosaurs because of... pan-saurianism or something. Speaking of which, the only thing from Imperial Japan that I took for the Saurian Empire was the Army/Navy rivalry, because I had an idea for an RP where the Saurian Empire fell into civil war between the army and the navy. The absolutism and lack of care for other species was because I wanted a generic "badguy" nation for a war RP.

An'neigozaimasu1, Baizou!

As a historian, you must have been in contact with many different artifacts like religious vessels, food bowls, ceremonial items, and weapons. What's your favourite museum artifact, either one that you've studied in your years of learning history or from personal interest? What about the background of that object draws you to it?

Do you have a particular period of East Asian history you like to research, and do you feel modern history courses cover that accurately?

And finally, Meiji or Lotte for sweets?

1 安寧ございます is Ōmiya Sakura's creation and her favourite greeting with friends. It is made from the corrupted form of the Korean greeting 安寧(안녕)하세요.

BN:
1. I don't want to say too much, but it took a long time to reach my beliefs because of my environment. I attended school with people like me and my parents were also sheltering me from injustices for most of my life.
2. Honestly, it's not so hard to create my character's personalities or at least what readers see. When I make a new character, I try to think of various things that might influence them: their class background, their culture, their society, their demographic, their friendliness, their upbringing, and their life experiences. Just as important though, I think of smaller personality traits: how do they act when eating a new food? Do they prefer to take risks or the safe route? Do they prefer nature or big cities? Considering all of those, I then make a character and their interactions.
3. No, the only visible difference is that the US drives on the left and drinks more tea. The weapon Sophia is holding in Story III is merely a prop. And although Sakura has magic, she can't use it for the duration of this story due to reasons I'll explain in another nation.
4. No, it's my first time hearing of them. Although the second one reminds me of your nation, for some reason.

1)Ohohoho. I remember you saying that Warera Contactee was really "wtf". I think the series has a special place in my heart as my life is really "wtf" too. I'm not pulling your leg: I believe I saw a UFO during my childhood, at around the age of 10 or 11. It was a very close distance, near the treeline of a fenced golf course that was next to the public school I went to. I had wandered off in recess into usually an empty field area. It was no balloon, it was a metallic sphere like something out of an M.C. Escher painting, about the size of a person, hovering around pine trees, against the wind's direction...then it just zoomed out of view.
I started reading books about UFOs and alien abductions after that and the theme in general just really interested me ever since, even if most of it is probably malarkey. I just think it's a very interesting theme that offers a lot of worldbuilding potential. And also, because I've been binge watching 1950s PSAs and I wanted to have a nation in the context for fun.

2) More than half of the factbook entries were neatly kept on Word as I had been working on them months prior or they were rehashed ideas. To boot, I believe this is my least original nation because UFO lore writes itself and I duly borrowed accounts of RL conspiracy theories or famous cases. I've done homework more demanding than that in afternoons.

3) I plan on expanding the lore of Tohorin and The Saucer Pilots. For now, I really don't have anything planned for Las Palmeras because the climax of Charles and Tepka's story has been reached: if they'll marry or not. After that, if they don't marry and monarchy gets abolished, it'd be anti-climactic. The same could be said of Charles getting what he wants as the Palmeran royals are like the opposite of the British: infidelity increases the chances of a successful marriage. Also, the locals expected a maîtresse-en-titre/left-handed wife to be one of their people. Tepka would've been that but she's the actual fiancé, so it's even better than expected and the general populace wouldn't bat an eye if Charles brings in his actual mistress.

1) What events molded your political opinions. Did you discover them by yourself or was there influence from others? (It's ok if you wanna omit this one)
2) What do you consider is the most difficult part in coming up with your characters' personalities?
3) Is technology in your canon different than that in RL? The visuals in your story make me think of that.
4) Have you ever heard of Victorian Romance Emma or Shirley Medison? Now that I'm thinking of Victorian-themed anime.

Has there ever been a secret/non-secret Republican (as in favour of overthrowing the monarchy) movement in LP?

Short answer: Not until 1900. And that was only because Greater Tohorin/LP was sent kicking and screaming into modernity.
Long answer: Hell no.
However, stagnation following the Independence movements of Latin America (1810-1820s), the shrinking of the Spanish Empire and a loss of prestige have not only motivated the State to defend it's metropole's holdings, the unfortunate turn of events have pushed the State into illiberal reaction and a unique local ideology known as Tohorinese Statism. Some future historians would describe it as "Proto-Totalitarian".
[...]
Freemasons and anybody accused of espousing Liberal/Republican values were accused of leading up to the "loss" of the Americas, and they were frequently intimidated by the Naval Police Corps, essentially a militarized secret police force that was part of the Auxiliary Navy. The State also began to employ "Men of Higher Calling", lower ranking retainers left without noble masters after Liberal reforms against manorialism, as quasi-legal paramilitary "peacekeeping" squads...to goad them into committing illegal extrajudicial hits on Liberal politicians and even intimidate supposedly untouchable White creole elites with liberal sympathies as an "Order by Assassination" would purportedly "save lives by keep all in line", in the words of Rear Admiral Kamjin Tajique Sr. (quoted on 1886)
[...]
The Military General Staff, through it's ministers, essentially promote an aggressive and expansionist ideology whose main goal is a "Restoration", a purposefully vague reference to both the glory days of the 16th Century and to total military control of government with significant state involvement in the economy to address social issues, supposedly, just like during the Old Empire. Both sides also uphold what is essentially a reworked and purportedly-westernized version of the old deification of the Tohorin, the patron goddess, now revived as the "National Body" made up of the State and it's subjects in on itself, with the God-blessed Imperial Figure as the symbolic head of a spiritually intertwined family, united in customs and, according to some, also blood (matrilineal race).
[...]
The Military Regime funds an unofficial women's political wing called the Imperial Restoration and New Order Association, meant to politicize the working woman into giving it all to serve the State, by running literacy-training programs, possibly the first of its' kind in history.

It is made from the corrupted form of Korean's 安寧(안녕)하세요.

Hello! Ooh, what an interesting portmanteau greeting!

1. My answer is ending up being rather long, so I hope it's alright that I relegate most of my response to a Telegram. I'll at least mention here provisionally that I perhaps overstated slightly by describing myself as historian. I'm still in the midst of my studies, and while I have worked in research assistantships and other roles, I haven't had professional positions in which I've handled artifacts personally. But! I still have encountered a few artifacts that are worth mentioning. I once held a Near Eastern coin from the Bronze Age, which was very fun! Ah, and on another occasion I held an early-modern American Bible the size of my torso! Books have been made remarkably small and remarkably large throughout history.

2. Postwar Asia and postwar Japan particularly. At least in the States, I think primary and secondary school courses do pretty meh, mostly by omission. College courses are better, thankfully.

3. Ah, I go for Meiji! I love kinoko no yama, choco babies, Poifull, Yan Yan biscuits... ah, I'll get hungry if I keep thinking about it!

It's 2004. MTish nation with videocassettepunk tech, Japanese heritage, minority of magic occult practitioners, casuistic Catholic plurality, sovereign deriving authority by Anglican coronation, and policymaking so byzantine parties wonder if it'd be easier to pursue agendas via international law.
