1. Rats, the hivemind is compromised. No comment.

2. Well, it keeps changing but I guess in regards for the first question, I really liked writing Kali as of now. However, at one point, Ambrosia was my favorite to write but then I felt disillusioned so I started with writing others. Victoria came out on top for me for a momentary while before I moved onto Kali who became a favorite for me and probably still is since she's rather low-stakes and helps me explore aspects of Bloodshade that isn't just political in nature. Plus, I just find myself enjoying her as a personality too. Maybe Victoria's my least favorite, mainly because I haven't expanded her personality in the three wars that I'm supposed to detail, which involves her in the occasional significant role in battle. I still haven't explored Victoria properly so I guess that's why I'm not enjoying her character yet all that much.

3. Konrad would mud wrestle with Konrad until Konrad submits and then Konrad would kindly ask Konrad if he wants to make revolution: the sequel again and then they would ride into the sunset before Konrad asks Konrad if he wants to become a Lahmian and if Konrad says yes, Konrad will turn convert him into a Lahmian but accidentally drink too much blood and kill him as a result, leaving behind a power vacuum in Patagonia. He will then proceed to disguise his skin and look like Konrad but this time, he'll pose as 'sane Konrad' and see how things unfold for him :)

1. You might know that before Araucania was conceived, the region was used to be occupied by Chilean communists led by Mahatma Pinochet who moved his Easter Island followers to the south of Chile. Well, I scrapped that because there's already another socialist nation (South Cape) and having another would be boring imo. It's the reason why Svetlana in her section as well as the South Cape mentioned there being "socialist brothers in the Chilean south" but I'm too lazy to replace it. I replaced it with the Araucanian Confederacy because I want to flesh out the urban - rural divide, the Gauchos and Mapuche people. Although Allende takes a backseat behind Araucanian politics.

What's even more interesting is that Dirlewanger and Thatcher weren't supposed to be in their position. Way way back before the Falklands and Brigade were written, I planned for there to be a malicious AI located in the Falklands built in the same vein as AM from "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" where it plans on ending the world itself (as it is connected with the mainframes of American nuclear bases) and tortured morally repugnant people like Dirlewanger (yes, Dirlewanger was supposed to be tortured by this AI instead of becoming a bandit) after taking over the local British government there. Yet I replaced it with a Thatcherite state and that might just be as bad as AM.

2. My favorite part of Patagonian culture is the one where it talks about lone wolf terrorism, radicalization rabbit holes, and the nature of memes because I see those as being a trend of today's world where the rise of digital technology and the Internet amplified radical voices and thoughts. My least favorite would have to be the "Erogotica" aspect of Patagonia because I thought it was too tryhard and edgy as shock value.

3. Writing the Blackshirts and Red Army were clear-cut because I already know what to write for them. However, with the MSF and the Los Felices; I had to do some research on the history of gay rights movement as well as the tactics of decentralized merc companies. I had to really think about how the MSF operated in games like Metal Gear Solid to write them. I also had to research US weapons that were used in Vietnam to write for their equipment. While I didn't want to portray the Los Felices as murderous thugs but made them relatively benign.

Thank you! I plan to finish my overview factbook, and then start writing stories and writing pieces set in Soviet Progonya. I'm planning one in the style of a transmission between different people in the Monolith, maybe a more traditional short story, maybe one in the style of an anomaly report. Gonna make some art and image editing as well, draw the nation's leader and some pieces for the atmosphere of it.

Those are CK2 stats. Which is to say, what the character would be like if he was in CK2. I thought it was fitting because Yooper is based off a CK2 mod.

As for what each means, tl;dw: Scroll = Diplomactic Skills, Swords = Martial Skills, Chest = Administrative Skills, Letter and Dagger = Intrigue skills (How good a person is at sneaking around and stabbing people), the Book = Learning Skills (typically related to theology, but can also be a measure of "general" intelligence IIRC), and the swords + shield equals combat skill. The traits are just misc information that you can probably get from the file name/image. I.E the dog means they're trusting, the cow means they're dull, etc.

The lack of an upper lip is just the style of the image, he actually looks something like this, but I wanted to keep to the medieval-ish aesthetics of the nation, so I made the image look more like a painting.

1. I really, really like @@LEADER@@, You Look A Little Constipated. I have a lot of fun writing it and a lot of fun rereading and tweaking it, haha. Out of my 3 published ones, I think I like Atomic Split the most.
2. I definitely have been engaging a lot more in worldbuilding lately! It's been a lot of fun, I have to say :) I have done a little WA RP, but no other NS RP, but I hope to change that soon! I just don't know entirely where to start.

Why is your flag identical to the Russian Navy flag? Is your flag even inspired by the Russian Navy? Or Nova Scotia? Or is the match with all 3 just a coincidence?

Soviet Progonya wrote:How did you come up with Tsaivao and all the Realms within it? Also how did you come up with your flag?

I'm gonna answer the second one first, cuz that's way easier to state. Basically my flag design process is "fuck around in paint.net until you come up with something cool." I knew I wanted to have my bird-nation have a fear of storms and typhoons, because they're birds, why wouldn't they? Typhoons have religious and folklore significance, usually represented as chaos and order colliding into something supremely powerful; a sort of combination of opposing forces (in this case, different winds) coming together to be far stronger than the individual parts which make it. So typhoons have sort of the dual symbolism of representing unity, order colliding with chaos, as well as being an already-recognized symbol of power in various cultures on the planet. I went through several iterations of the flag design, and I like this version (originally it was only a red field with the typhoon). The current version resembles military flags on Earth, and the Tsaivao Authority is first and foremost a military alliance. The red field symbolizes blood from the struggles of the past, the red stripe symbolizing how there are still struggles in the present, and the black field representing that Tsaivao is sort of charging into an unknown and dark future, with the white elements representing light and hope.

Funny thing I've mentioned before: the typhoon on my flag has 5 arms for a reason. Originally I wanted four arms, to correspond with orthogonal directions (north wind, south wind, west wind, east wind). Buuuut... I very quickly realized that rotationally-symmetric spirals with four arms may not be the best idea... So rather than remove all the careful time I wasted, I just added a fifth arm and a "fifth wind" to Vao culture that just represents updrafts, the breath of life, and the soul. So my entire world's folklore and aesthetic was halfway inspired by the fact that I didn't want to look like a nazi lol

Tsaivao itself is sort of a combination of two things that I enjoy or have done. The primary inspiration for Tsaivao is the game of "Kenshi" which is a sort of 3rd-person RPG/Strategy hybrid game that's set in a post-apocalyptic and fragmented world (Saying that, I bet people who play the game are going to immediately realize what all my sub-factions are inspired from lol). The lore for that game is far too extensive to cover in a single post here, but I would say my time playing it planted the idea in my head. Originally, I had the nation of Gaazikumukh, which I still maintain occasionally, and it is also split into different political factions on the brink of war. So I had some experience already with internal splintering, albeit in a much more restrained form than what Tsaivao is right now. In short, I have a sort of fascination with civil wars and internal conflicts and how they arrive, and mixing that with the sort of aesthetic of Kenshi, Tsaivao began to emerge. And of course, I haven't made a human nation in over 6 years on this website, so I felt like copying the Rito from Breath of the Wild since I adored their portrayal in that game.

Originally I was going to have far more factions, but Gaazikumukh taught me not to overextend too much. Still, I had a minor retcon fairly recently, and I removed two nations which were comparatively microscopic (I don't even remember their names, that's how important they were lol). The first nation I came up with was Da Mogshu, who I sort of envision as a cross between non-apartheid South Africa and North Korea. Mun Empire (originally United Mun Federation) was next, and I considered them like if the United States had an aristocracy and nobility. The Majai followed, after I got inspired probably by listening to too much Heilung (which is also the name of the continent they're on). And finally, the Vukshao, who originally I didn't really know how to flesh out, but recently I've had a good time making them feel like a modern-day decaying Byzantine Empire. Other factions and rebels sort of arose when I felt necessary to expand upon them, an example being the Swamps as the natural enemy of Mogshu for being so damn hard to conquer. I still have yet to fully flesh out the world, I still have a lot of work to do, namely on the Lekkans, Aigai, Fenshu Tseleg, Len Gao, and Zaiku. But hopefully I'll be able to finish this project sometime next century!

One thing I will note is everything is still WIP, and the "realm" system I'm implementing has already (rightly) been criticized before (namely "vassalization isn't annexation you dummy"), so all the inner workings and classifications are still being ironed out. The Tsaivao Authority itself is probably the most important component of my nation with the least amount of fleshing-out.

tl;dr: Flag portrays typhoon, typhoons scary to birds, and we wanna be scary. Nation is inspired by past nations and Kenshi and Breath of the Wild. I'ma probably put a link to this post in my sig now.

1. Based on the small amount of roleplay posts you've got in the forums, combined with the goodly amount of information and lore in your factbooks, as well as the general roleplay-y nature your regions seems to invoke, I'll assume you're part of all that. So, what is it like playing in a region like that, and would you say it seems more fun or easily managed than those of the forums?
2. How would you describe your role in the region, assuming you have one?
3. What would you say is Aerlancia's most distinctive feature, when you think of it?
4. What do you think's the Primaeri's opinion of Aerlancia?
Take 2 on being active, let's see how it goes!
Alt. of Hamatu
Late Medieval (Set 1239 CE). A Byzantine Successor State. Maybe Magical, Maybe Not. Has Some Indigenous Anatolian Influences
Technically Religiously Syncretic (Byzantine Orthodox Saints - Ancient Anatolian Deities). Not Crusaders (Again, Not Crusaders). But Definitely Character-Oriented (Lord Trokondas/Princess Euphrosyne/Lady Bassaine)

I feel like some of these have been asked before, but I'm giving it a shot again, hope that's fine! ^^

- What is your favorite ancient language? Was it because of the way they are perceived to sound like, or because of their script?
- Which character in this nation (and perhaps Hamatu) is the most difficult for you to write?
- And now this is an ego question: Is there actually someone in Hamatu who likes the Valentians? I know the Goddess has something against us, that is completely OOCly fine, but it makes me wonder if there are those who likes the tall dudes and dudettes.

Hey Val, it's fine!
- What is your favorite ancient language? Was it because of the way they are perceived to sound like, or because of their script?
Honestly, I'm not much of a linguist, but I can say that Late-Period Sumerian is one that I like, at least due to the history and circumstances surrounding it- the final developed form of the earliest written language, seemingly completely unrelated to all the other surrounding languages, I just think it's overall pretty cool- though, I couldn't give much detail about what it'd sound like, unfortunately...
- Which character in this nation (and perhaps Hamatu) is the most difficult for you to write?
Well, for TLOT, it has to be Lord Trokondas himself, as some of the more repugnant features of his character are just a bit beyond what I'm normally comfortable with writing, as well as the fact that he's also just generally different from those I normally write. As for Hamatu's characters, basically anyone who isn't Ilitu is hard to write, as I just don't have all their personalities figured out, and even those I do have a bit figured just aren't the type I feel I'm good at writing.
- And now this is an ego question: Is there actually someone in Hamatu who likes the Valentians? I know the Goddess has something against us, that is completely OOCly fine, but it makes me wonder if there are those who likes the tall dudes and dudettes.
Honestly, I think that for the average citizen of Hamatu the Valentians would be a distant concept- more of an image of an enemy of Ilitu than actually people or even creatures. But, for those who're in government, or who otherwise have some access to Hamatu's F7 lore, I actually think the main issue they'd have with the Vanentians would be their perceived happiness- that is, Hamatu has a very carefully curated climate of guilt and depressive emotions, so it'd be something of a culture shock- but aside from that, and Ilitu's antagonism towards them, I think they could very easily like the Valentians- especially one who has found it hard to foster a sense of dramatic sadness, or who just really wants to be allowed to be happy, I could see them sort of idealizing and imagining the Valentians as sort of figures of rebellion.
