Why do you simp for Reuturn?

1. I guess you've probably been asked this before, but what made you decide to develop a conlang for Kiu Ghesik?
2. Probably been asked this too, but what led you to make Ari's personality the way it is? Not sure if I've ever seen an introverted nomadic leader before.

1. Because it makes giving things unique names easier, and it adds to the immersion.
2. Because I didn't want to fall into the trope of "Conan, what is best in life?" I wanted to make her dynamic, and more importantly I wanted her to be the sort of person you can emphasize with. Her role is so far removed from, say, average Joe getting his coffee it can be hard to connect. And so I portray her in familiar situations with familiar troubles; not wanting to disappoint a role model, struggling to live up to the expectations of others, that sort of thing. I at least think it shows her as human rather than "badass warlord". So, tl;dr, for the same reason you gave Ilitu character troubles. To make her more sympathetic as a character.

Dysfunctional. Entrenched. Institutionalized. Too big to get rid of without leading to some sort of global collapse. Really quite cool despite its multitude of flaws. Has a bunch of really nice statues in the building, too, I saw them once.

4. So, it normally involves a pretty frustrating process of googling different terms, getting nothing, until I finally find something that sorta fits. Often, tone's more important than depicting anything literally, so that often works. But sometimes you find the perfect picture (I still really like the two at the bottom) and sometimes you just don't (I seriously believe there aren't any good pictures of underwater cities that aren't complete fantasy, ruins, or sci-fi!). But yah, it's mostly just long sessions of google images and good artists who draw stuff related to what you want.

I would probably be agnostic, as no other faith really makes complete sense to me. If I were to choose a faith and not look into it to a great extent, then yes, perhaps Judaism. Or Sikhism.

Besides the more obvious Tengri Shamanism, what religious or philosophical ideas influenced you while making Kiu Ghesik’s religion?

Deism, Chinese mythology, some Greek mythology, some Gnosticism, not much. Some extrapolation of philosophy as well.

As much as it sounds like a "no, no, not really!" sort of thing, the religion is really primarily aesthetically Tengri. Tengrism, as I understand it, emphasizes Earth as a meeting place between higher and lower powers, and focuses on to more of an extent "God occasionally/frequently intervenes in the affairs of Earth, Earth is a place we inhabit, man has a purpose" whereas the Ghesite religion as written is very much "God doesn't intervene at all, this cosmos is a giant machine we're just living in, God has servants whose purpose is not to intervene but to keep said machine running, we have no purpose but to live the best life possible then die". That cosmos-as-machine with God (in this case the Mother) as divine engineer is very deistic. The idea of the winds being geography-based spirits is similar to how the Chinese envisioned demons and spirits in older myths, as I understand it, or the notion of "river-gods" we find in ME and Greek mythos, and of course the notion of the duality of the world can be viewed through a Gnostic framework but isn't really influenced by that sort of thought. It's more "this world is impermanent and flawed, the divine world is perfect and permanent, and god is in it" as compared to Gnostic "this world is evil because its creator is evil, yet there exists a perfect world with a perfect creator."

The idea of a sky-god is honestly the most Tengri thing in the entire religion.
