The largest energy source in the nation period is the Joseph Labre Nuclear Plant about 50 miles away from New Francisca. Built in the early 1960s to accommodate the rapidly growing population of the city, it has a net capacity of 12GW of energy. As the population didn't expand as fast as predicted, it serves as the main energy source for the entire Northwest of the country. The largest solar farm is the Wadi Alsalam Solar Park 100 miles away from the Ürümmu Autonomous Region's capital of Yunis. Commencing operation in 1997, it's output is currently only 5GW, but plans are to expand it so that within a decade it will produce 10GW total per the For of a Clean and Sustainable Future Act, 2016.
