Answer Above Leader's Question (#2)

I made a thread like this once. It died, my nation died. BUT NOW I AM BACK!

The rule is easy -- answer the question above you, then leave another question for the folk below. It can be anything as long as it sticks to the forum rules. No flaming, no trolling, etc.

"No question asked here? Considered the press conference done then."

"What do you do when you can't answer a question in the press conference?"
Asst. Prof. Adam Yanovich Dresvyanin, Prime Minister of Zitravgrad

"This here cake is a traditional supper up round Swansea. She's got nothing in her other than one egg, two bags of flour and a bucket of water. The plan is you see, you get all the ingredients ready and fling them into a mixing bowl. Then you scoff whatever winds up in that bowl right down your throat and have a fellow ready with a cuppa tea for when the thing comes shooting back out your guts."

“Eh, it depends how you look at it. Nobody’s really inherently good or evil, and even the best people in the world could be driven to bomb a building if they have one exceptionally bad day. But I do think it’s easier to do a bad thing than a good thing. Even if a bad person has a good day, they might not do good things, it might just be more motivation for them to do bad things. So I suppose there’s more bad people, because it’s easier for them to do bad things.”

"Nah, I've done a lot of bad things in my life and I wouldn't be here running a country and a major corporation if I couldn't forgive myself for somethin stupid I did back when I was in my 20s. If I had some moral code to follow I couldn't have been the ruthless capo, businessman and leader I needed to be for my whole life and I'd probably be dead too. It's not that I hate religion, you wanna believe in something? Who the hell am I to stop you, if there really is someone up there and I end up gettin the bad treatment later on cause of some guy I shot or scammed then I guess I'll just have to deal with it."

“You’d have to ask my acquaintance down in Chile to get her own opinion, as she runs her country with a largely privatized military, but if I asked some of my friends in the business, such as Xavier [Xavier Hall, CEO of Hellfighter Private Security], he’d probably jokingly call me a fascist statist and insist I hand over the Ministry of Defense to him.
As long as there isn’t infighting between the companies, sure- hell, they’d know how to balance a budget better, and I know many brave men and women who are employees of PMCs who fight almost, if not just, as hard and patriotically as our enlisted. However, research and development might slow without government guidance, and knowing Xavier, he’d probably blow his share on modernized Shermans to replace our Provocateur fleet because “they work”...

“I have a few hobbies. I...alright, I admit, I used to kind of, well, torture people. I’m not proud of it these days, but it was a thing. I’m a bit of a sadist, see, so doing that helped a lot. I was quite depressed at one point and realised that it just...it didn’t help. I mean, I tried love to help once but that just ended...horribly. Mainly I bake cookies. It’s the one thing that feels like...creating something, you know? So yeah. Baking.”

"I know for a FACT that that is the case. I am literally the play-thing of higher powers. For some reason they find my particular suffering amusing. To make matters worse, they made me essentially impossible to kill and thus my suffering will last for 1,000 years! Anywho.... While my policies are outside of the influence of the Gods, they still have corrupt agents within the Church of the Menti Celesti, which while it does not have any legal standing it is still a major force in politics unfortunately. "As tragic as it appears, it is also highly convenient. 50 days is plenty if I am informed beforehand. Several arrangements can be made, farewells can be spoken and prayers can be held to put my soul at ease and ensure the smooth continuation of our church and state once I am absent. For the last time in my life, I will embrace those who brought me up and stood with me, those whom I consider friends and family. But we all will remain calm. In this nation, we cherish life but stand prepared in the anticipation of the end."
