Private R.C. Cooper
Spanish Guardia Nacional Rifleman
Report:Right, it's been the first time I was assigned to fight something. R&R was getting boring.
Right, it's me, Cooper. Command, this fight was relatively... Simple? I can't really put it into words, but it's refreshing that we've seen some normal enemies for once. Right, on to reporting. For the ground forces, we were able to establish a beachhead with the help of the Marine Guard. M1 Abrams tanks rolling out of Hovercraft looks amazing. Righto, so they advanced first, encountering a bit of resistance, but it was mostly manageable. Up until we actually got into combat with these fuckers, and let me tell you, their ground forces are absolutely fucking messy. I've seen PzH-2000s, Russian Arty guns, and even a IJA mortar carrier. Good fucking lord, what kind of alternate nations sold this shit ot them?
Armor battles were up next. I was part of the Mechanized infantry, you know, the guys crammed into metal coffins with a low survival rate. I get into the heat of battle, and get the fuck out of my APC. The Tanks advance first, scouting ahead of us. You ever seen an M60A3E and an M1A2E advance at absurdly fast rates? I did. These people came equipped, very well-equipped too. Saw a Russian-influenced design, but truth be told, I saw it go down in one shot from a M60A3E. Maybe they were designed cheaply? And let's not get into what the M1A2Es did. They were... bloodthirsty.
Air Battles? Well, I saw them myself this time. After the mechanized advance, the Air Force came in, yes, SPAAGs were a concern, but they showed up anyway, and my god it was beautiful. F-22A Raptors duking it out with their planes like a graceful ballet? Beautiful. Reminds me of those Japanese arcade flight games. But back on point, they engaged them, and the poor bastards brought Gripens and Rafales out. Against Raptors. Go figure. Sure, I may have some gripes against the ANG using F-22As most of the time when they have F/A-18s, but they still do their job. God bless the screeching Eagles.
Now, for the Naval Battles, that occurred before the landing, so I didn't get to see much, but from what I've heard from others, it was a spectacle. The US Navy were supporting us this time, so the Naval Guard had some serious firepower with them. But the star of the show would have to be Prince of Asturias, her sister, Francisco Franco, and the Galicia-class family. God bless you brave bastards. I heard that one of the Galicias charged head-in first while firing off every missile known to man at one of their destroyers. Some said the show was like watching Taffy 3 engaging Yamato, if I were to make a WW2 comparison. Fun stuff.
After that, it was mostly smooth sailing from there, but there were still pockets of resistance. Ones with better technology than us, but sometimes not. Doesn't matter anyway, we defeated 'em, so what's the point talking about these poor bastards any longer? They got their punishment for daring to pick a fight with the Guardia, so I can't really say anything to 'em. All that's left is to round up the POWs. After all, standard procedure in the Guard is to execute prisoners, regardless of their status as 'surrendered'. Hey, frees up resources we could use to help win the civvies to our side.
Well, that's it for today. Cooper out.
