I'm going to put it here again, because it happened a few times to me. I think I'll just live with it, but I will still talk about it.

I mean, yeah, he has girl names, girl armor, but I think the factbook covers the He-part rather well.

This annoys even me and I have no connection to that character or those factbooks at all.

It's actually a common occurrence.

People just take one look at the leader's name/a quick glance at the factbook and make assumptions. Whether it be the wrong gender or the fact they are the spawn of Satan because they are person I politically disagree with X

Cliche on this thread: People who find it cliche that nobody wants to play an average nation. That can be pretty boring and unforgettable, and the whole point of creating a fictional entity is to have something special about them. Even if their specialty is an absurd, rigid averageness.

It's not that everyone wants to make an average nation, it's that most people seem to prefer either being perfectly good or perfectly bad. You rarely see morally ambiguous nations anymore.

In one incident, there was a player who read Feodora Alexeievna Miroslavskaya and called her a dude.

This is why I don't expand factbooks beyond average human's attention span (anymore). I know how it feels to see a leader with very long factbook, but I do try to read the basics.

I admit, I don't really want to play an average nation, as in the ones with all the normal rules, normal legislations, and stuff. Politics is just isn't in me.

My biggest cliche so far is how everything in Valentine Z is a black-and-white scenario. It's either too good (love and friendliness), or too bad and banned (capital punishment, rudeness).

I have yet to make a Valentian who is basically an asshole towards everyone around him, like Snow White's Grumpy. People shun him because he's rude, so he decided to screw it all and live somewhere isolated.

Ancient Astronauts: Cliche I'm guilty of, and 2 of my 3 puppets, mostly...sorta helps that I roughly plan my undergrad thesis to be a historical analysis of the concept.

I don't say anything explicitly in LP's factbooks save for some teasing commentary over Martian observation and the origin of the neko in timescales- and references to one of my favorite animu that also involves the theme, Fushigi no Umi no Nadia- things become more obvious in Grand Celestial Domain and Sopdet Bemusement World. And a really lame joke about cat-worshiping empires with solar god-monarchs...

I have to say though that I personally haven't really seen it in much use though; some fantasy and dark horror nations may find similar things in creator gods or a precursor race, but that's it IIRC. Also some Halo-themed nations -because of their theme's plot- a year back but I don't see them as often as I do now.

Someone could start a topic with completely factually false information, and the topic could go on for pages, but as soon as someone presents facts to negate the topic, and attempt to explain, then they are immediately warned for “threadjack” or “flaming”.
Even worse, this has spread out of General to Forum7.

Or taking a nation too seriously. I will have to say, there can be some inconsistent facts for a nation along the way because I understand, you are still worldbuilding, but imagine how you feel when you are being nitpicked... for your fictional nation.

Not that I got into it before, but I know a couple of times when a nation will get OOCly (not in-character) nitpicked for being a socialist, or capitalist, or any political compass.

That's generally what happens in the WA at any time tho.

Regarding the WA, btw, Whenever a controversial GA resolution is passed, you can expect a hundred repeal resolutions both in the forums and in the proposals until a)it is repealed (in which case you'll start getting the same resolution in the forums and proposals) or some other, more controversial GA resolution is passed.

Noobs either drafting resolutions without bothering to read the rules, doing so having read the rules, but insisting they don't apply to their draft because [completely asinine reasoning], submitting without bothering to read/understand the rules (or, indeed, even knowing what a proposal in the sense of the WA *is*), or submitting a half-assed/blatantly illegal proposal, then posting in the WA forums to beg for votes.

Most of Japanese nations tend to be either variations of Imperial Japan, or straight anime nations. (I believe, that I am one of the few there, that has made a Republican Japan, which isn't communist)

Actually I had an idea of a republican Japan but gave up on it later. Still using it for issues, though.

When a nation is a monarchy, they tend to be an overly benevolent near welfare state, or they are a constitutional monarchy where the monarch is just a big ol' social activist with only ceremonial duties.

In some F7 threads - specifically the "What Does the AN's Motto Tell You?" - players will provide a motto; however, that motto won't be in English and said player fails to provide a Translation of said motto requiring everyone else to use something like Google Translate.

In fact, I remember one time where one nation's motto was in a language that Google didn't even know; and they didn't provide a translation.

Not if the newspaper is required to have the name of the nation in it, when working with the franchise your nation is based on.


Next cliche; FFT Nations with a load of information that makes your brain want to explode with the complexity of it all. However, when having the unlucky to rp with them in rps, you struggle at getting the idea of how the FFT weaponry works and googling doesn’t help at all.

No, it's not. There are cases where ripple works, and cases where it doesn't, and the latter outnumbers the former by a fairly significant margin.
