A tall redhead strode into the bar, his poison green eyes sweeping over the place, before settling on the bartender. He strode over, his black and red pinstripe suit looking a tad out of place in the saloon.
"One glass of absinthe please."
Taking his drink and sipping, he looked around noting the many beings here, in between idly flipping through a pocket edition of Brave New World.

I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but that would...well, that would be a blatant lie because we've gotten off on the wrong foot. Perhaps I can buy you another drink?"

However Leviathan was simply sitting there, doing absolutely nothing.

Hatlen raised his head from the device he had been tinkering with. What had started out as three paperclips and a small piece of scrap metal had now transitioned into a smooth metallic cube of unclear purpose, with two gears on its top face. Between the gears sat a shot glass.

"Technocratic Director? I feel like I'm... directing my attention into the auditory equivalent of a mirror! An echo chamber, perhaps? No, that would... Ahem. Pleased to meet you. Director Ismael Hatlen, of the Azure Syndicate. At your service, as it were."

He absent-mindedly flicked the cube with an index finger, and it began to whir.

James smiled and extended a hand. His poison green eyes every so briefly flickered a faint gold as he smiled, a sure sign he was pleased to meet a fellow scientist, more of a subconscious tic than anything conscious. He took another sip of absinthe with his free hand before setting the glass down and giving the Director his undivided attention.
"The pleasure is mine Director Hatlen. I've heard a few things about you, here and there, and I must say, I am impressed. I, as I have already stated, am James Abrasax, Technocratic-Director of The Raven Technate. I doubt you've heard of us. If you don't mind, what are you fiddling with?"

Hatlen smiled back. His own eyes were... somewhat odd, it must be said. Like there was some sort of underlying pattern to the iris, something barely on the edge of one's vision. Geometries of unnatural crispness and complexity.

"As a matter of fact, I haven't really heard of you, per se, but I have... deduced certain aspects of your presence. At this point, I find it far simpler to leave such things in the realm of theory, to be honest - calculations can far outstrip conventional sensing, given the correct medium. Ah, and this..."

He poked the cube once more. The shot glass was turning sluggishly, and the clear liquid inside sloshed.

"Just a little projection. I've been meaning to test a few aurochemical interactions, but the atmospheric chambers aboard the Caeruleum were... otherwise occupied. Can't fault the botanical division, though I do wish they hadn't grown quite so many gigaferns... ah well. I thought it somewhat pointless to assemble a new one, so I stepped out here."

"I understand perfectly. I once oversaw several projects revolving around weaponized flora. My subordinates got carried away and, long story short, we had to use Gamma Repeaters to kill everything in the greenhouse because it had begun to reproduce exponentially. Ah, such fun though. An unfortunate waste of resources, yes, but an interesting diversion nonetheless. I finally decided to get out of my lab, so I don't have much of interest on me, except my Rad Pistol."
He drained the last of his absinthe, and, slightly annoyed, waved his hand upward, the glass refilling itself from nothing. While not a naturally gifted hydrokinetic, this trick hardly required mastery of the skill. He took another sip.
