"Our capital is known for it's eternally spring-like weather." He looked to the Princess. "Everywhere else, it's hot and humid. Never gets too cold."

"Is that in the Milky Way? Im familiar with a Stargate but in the Republic we use Hyperdrive to travel across the Galaxy. Your capital sounds like a very nice place. Its a pleasure to meet you Mr. Founder. Have you ever been to Coruscant? That's where im from." Leo asked as he had some of his Green Tea.

"Well, it is, indeed. In our way of fighting, the spear is probably the best weapon you could have. Gives you the range and strength advantage over the man charging you with a sword in his hand. This spearhead design is a little impractical, though. When we train against wild animals and condemned prisoners, the spear tends to get stuck in, and if the damage does not deter the enemy, the weapon can be your disadvantage, and your only hope of getting out of it is if you can break off the spear and draw your own short-sword and take him down there." The guard mentioned as he held his spear up, inspecting it before putting it back down. "But in the end, its' all dependent on how you use it, how close the man is and how well the formation holds there and then when you do."

"Well, anyways, nice to meet you, Mr. Founder. And, speaking so, with all this talk from my guard, I'm curious as to how your military actually functions. I hear all the time of these future people with their magic death sticks, but never have I seen a man in their timeframe who does these things more... traditionally." Tiva mentioned. "Of course, this may sound weird, coming from me, but trust me, I was particularly interested in the ways of the warrior myself. Hell, my husband was from Sparta, and he trained me in these techniques, along with his comrades who immigrated here and taught our military in their manner, too."

I mean, we sort of still have that thing with the genders, despite our Queen being an effective argument against that... like, we have women who serve as priests, nurses, archers and also 'comfort women' to prevent the men from performing rape, as well as our 36th lochosis being an all-female force of 1,000, but, really, our lack of support for the notion to allow women to fully intergrate themselves into the military kind of stops us from doing such things, as well as cultural reasons." The guard commented.

"Have you tried utilising phalanx before? Where we're from, it's the go-to in melee tactics. Or, it was, until the Romans came along with their things... but it still works pretty well if you have a good commander, extremely determined and disciplined troops and a good position. He raises his hands and opens his palms. "He had a line of soldiers line up against the Romans and catch him in a pincer formation having sort of 'wings' charge the flanks of the soldiers and then attack the rear with horsemen."

"Hmmmm... interesting. I supposed, whenever Rome or the Ptolemaics come around next time, we could pull one on them using Hannibal's aforementioned ways. But, considering we're an island, they'll have to get through our navy first; triremes armed with ballistas and archers with flaming arrows, burning decoy-ships we can hurdle towards the enemy and our military's own devised specialties in coastline defense." Tiva herself chuckled. "Thinking about it now... it'd be like the great battle of Thermopylae on water once the Roman ships come hurdling towards us. They're used to warfare where ships would take each other out by crashing into each other and disabling the oars. We get shit done before it even gets to that point, and when it does... we have spears and swords handy to take care of them at their own distance. Except if their ship is burning, of course, then we just steer clear and take them out with the aforementioned burning javelins, ballistas and arrows."

"This talk of shooting pommels... reminds me of a nice little heavy-duty weapon we invented. Helped the Old Sioperots before Alexander, a unique little thing, it is. Basically, you get two concrete balls, with a blanket about 60 metres wide and 95 feet long, hook it onto two catapults and fly it over a horde of the enemy, covering them and making it so they cannot move and also crushing anything in the two balls' way. Then, as soon as they're covered, you take a flaming arrow and fire it into the blanket, and since the material is extremely flammable, the entire blanket turns into a wave of fire that engulfs those unfortunate enough to be stuck under it." Tiva said with a discomforting giggle. "It's foolproof!"

Tiva had a bit of a laugh at the Founder's joke as well. "Don't worry, as far as we're concerned, you're not on our bad side. In fact, I'd love to see those pommel launchers some day; see how many bones they can break on a Ptolemaic or a Roman." She said with a bit of a giggle.

"Our own blades, while only used when the spears go out and we have to fight eye-to-eye, are quite sharp indeed, but what sets our own apart from other blades in our world is that..." She said as one of his own guards drew a farvaltun blade and tossed it to Tiva, the woman catching it as she spun it around in her hand for a moment ebfore inspecting it. "We have the farvaltun. Alot like the kopis or gladius, yes, but it comes packed with a reinforced grip of leather and polished bronze hilt, a light yet capable 16-inch blade that's sharp enough to chop through a spear with good enough strength, and a nice, sawtooth edge behind the smooth-yet-sharp end, serrated for your stabbing pleasure." Tiva speeched as she admired the sword for a moment.

"Exotic." He smiles. From his pocket, he produces his smartphone and turns it on. He shows the princess zweihänder type blades. "This model is most popular back home."
