Create a World's History

Hello. Welcome to this game. I'm reviving this after the first thread went dead, the second was destroyed and forgotten by the autoprune, and the third was quickly ruined. Basically, the premise is to make the history of a nation, advancing either in a matter of a month to years in each post. Once we have enough nations, we can start to write the history of the whole world, as in how those nations reacted to each other, the hapenings in a nation, etc. Also, please be logical and semi-realistic

Rules (important):
0) Don’t use real irl nations and don’t use your or other people’s NS. Irl nations should be parodies of themselves (ex: Poleland instead of Poland).
1) Everything that has hyper intelligence should be a humanoid in some way, and reflect stuff in real life or myth. Aka no pokemon, Digimon or anything of the like, but a dragon-like species is okay.
2) One-line wonders should be avoided, and should only occur if the chat is really slow that day. Always try to be descriptive.
3) Being only one nation is highly discouraged. If you love a nation, don’t exclusively be them, since that will only make people angry with you and want to destroy your nation. Diversify your stuff.
4) Natural Disasters should be limited: doing natural disasters willynilly would realistically only end the world. That’s why natural disasters if they aren’t long term should not be happening every 5 years or less. That’s why every 10 years a minor natural disaster can happen, while waiting past that point can amplify the disaster. Every 100 years a realistic very large, multination, disaster is allowed, like the Bubonic Plague or mass-famine. These shouldn’t be happening every 5 years unless the world’s imploding.
5) Retcons: if a nation is deemed too power or too advanced, it’s new technology may become retconned with a time limit in place till that tech can come into use. Alternatively for more severe wrongdoer Nations, the nation can be wiped out completely in one fell swoop and all their technology lost. Of course, the Nation sometimes just wont exist anymore like it never existed originally and all nation interactions voided (these last two options are voted on).
6) No mention to any memes. This is not meme land. You can mention them as being invented once we reach the Internet age
I start:

1 MY (Max year, or this world's AD equivalent): Refugees from the ongoing war between the Empire of Jenni and the barbarian tribes escaped many kilometres away from Jenni, into the western part of the continent of Maxbarri. There, the 5.000 refugees established a city called Maxland. The first king, Max I, was selected to lead.

2MY: A huge gold deposit is found leading to an economic boom

3MY: The deposits that were thought to be huge were just rich seams which have now all but been exhausted. There continues to be some excavations which produce quantities to make them viable but most are just flashes in the pan. Many of the people drift off looking for other opportunities. Of the people who move to pastures new are a group of about 500 that start logging in the forests about 230 milles upstrem in an area known as Doddydom. The Doddydom main settlement is named Kennbo with about 120 settlers. A second group head for some rich farmland approximatel 80 miles West of Maxland and set up little hamlet villages in the home they might trade with the larger settlements. A third group head towards the coast and the rivermouth were there is penty of food and some Jet. The last group head towards the lands of a people called Eurasian which passing traders had described and the temptation lured them to explore.

4MY- 20 MY: A largely uneventful time period as Maxland settled into becoming a proper city state (in fact looking remarkably like a city-state from a civilisation game geographically).

21 MY: The first religion sprouts in the city of Lexxi, the Order of Maxx. Many traditions based off of the Order of Maxx are created, such as Maxxmas.

No, just giving a realistic timeframe for evolution for an isolated joke species to come into play. They never interact with anyone but themselves, but would rather just get the set up out of the way. Biting the bullet you could say.

22 MY: Meanwhile, Maxland send explorers into the Northern Land. There, the explorers found another prospering and influential city state named Violetia, with a religion named Violetism.

It turns out that the land called Eurasian is accessed by a portal inside a cave. The people who found it saw what looked like a bright blue, glowing, technological, and large object that sent them to Eurasia, in our world. What they didn't know is that the portal was left off by an alien race that went to the planet many thousands of years ago.

23 MY: Barbarians raid the outskirts of Maxland, taking all valuables and supplies they can scavenge.

22 MY: The explorers return and spread Violetist beliefs throughout the largest cities of Maxland.
24 MY: The Maxlanders, tired of getting ransacked by barbarians, assemble a small though capable army and begin the first military conflict faced by Maxland- The Barbarian Wars. Maxland manages to drive the Barbarians back to their tribes, weakening their forces and preventing the fall of their homeland, the Jenni Empire.

24-26 MY: The minor Barbarian Wars rage on. Eventually Maxland wins the war, driving away most of the barbarians and annexing the Barbicon tribe. The tribe is forced to settle in a newly-founded vassal city which is named Barbicon. To cement the stewardship of the Barbicon tribe, king Max I marries the eldest daughter of the tribe's chief.

27 MY: As the tribe was forced to settle and being made into a part of Maxland through political marriage, the process of intergration is started. To prevent them from being provoked, they are allowed to keep their culture, as King Max I patiently waits for generations until the tribe become integrated.

Meanwhile, it turns out that the tribe that forms Barbicon have an ally tribe. Named Sagave, the tribe started to raid Maxland and the Empire of Jenni. Since the war is still fresh in everyone's mind, the Sagave tribe is easily defeated. The same fate happens to Sagave, with a new city being constructed, named Moderia, for the tribe, and Max I's heir, his son who is named Barry, married the heir to the tribe of Sagave, the chief's daughter.

27-40 MY: Apart from the odd minor revolt, this period is uneventful. Maxland focusses most of it's energies towards integrating the new vassals of Barbicon and Moderia to become core parts of the now respectably-sized, but still small country. Farming spreads, the economy grows and prosperity keeps everyone happy.

Trade with Violetia increases too. The third son of King Max, Tobias, is sent as a permanent ambassador to the city in 33 MY to further cement their relations.

Meanwhile, the Empire of Jenni descends into civil war again in 37 MY, further accelerating the decline of the once glorious empire, now only a shadow of its former self.

41 MY: King Max I dies of old age in bed, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind 8 children to 2 wives (only the second one being alive). King Barry I takes the throne.

42MY - Kennbo has grown to about 320 people and have developed a reputation for the quality and beauty of their wooden goods. The knowledge gained from working in the woods has made them expert trappers and a trade develops. There are interesting herbs and spices in the locality and their food is beginning to pick up a good reputation with the traders who also take some of these herbs and spices with them. The reputation for these products enticed King Barry to visit and he was so impressed that there are now regular deliveries to the Royal Court. A few cooks decided that they my find good fortune in the larger kingdom and returned with him to Maxland.

42MY-47MY
In 42 MY, a respectable explorer, named Japedo “Maginot” Tiermann, of Maxland goes to The Great Mountaians that separate Maxland and the barbarian tribes to see if he can map out an attack path through the mountains should war come again. 5 years later (47 MY), he is discovered to have gone mad some time during his explorations, raving about unknown “gods in the mountains” whose “holy city” he refuses to reveal. His travels reveal he has documented to the best of his ability before going mad, a good 37% of the mountains, all respectively on the side that face Maxland (and one small path straight through the mountains which stop many kilometers from the opposite side of the mountains). People assume that the Barbarians brainwashed Maginot, or fatigue caught up with him causing him to go insane.
Should the barbarians invade through the mountains, there will be a very new and significant defensive advantage.

48 MY: This is a very busy year for the country.

Another expedition is organised to follow in Maginot's footsteps. A 10 man exploration team lead by Malliledo Fidid is sent to chart out the rest of the Great Mountains.

King Barry institutes a swathe of reforms to how the country is run. He organises a new 'ranger' system of law enforcement. Lone or small teams of law enforcement officials selected for their incorruptibility patrol the countryside, bringing a measure of protection to the previously defenceless citizenry of places like Doddydom and the Western Hamlets. Notably, they are not allowed to collect taxes.

Doddydom in turn is one of 7 'provinces' that the king institutes in order to more efficiently tax his population and administer his rule. The others are: Maxland City, West Land, Lexxi, Barbicon, Moderia and the Northern Fiefs. Moderia is given a special status as a 'military province', considering the vital strategic importance the province has for preventing future barbarian attacks.

3000 refugees from the collapsed Empire of Jenni arrive in Maxland, causing a crisis.

The city of Maxland itself hits a population of 20000 this year too, and would have been noted if censuses were a thing. The total population of the country is around 50000.

50: the Jennian refugee crisis boils over in a series of clashes across the country. Rangers are sent to put down the most violent incidents; about 80 deaths are reported nationwide.

Tobias of Maxland secures a trade deal with Violetia, who supplied rare indigo and purple dyes in exchange for surplus Maxlandic grain. The two countries prosper.

52 MY:A large sea with a large amount of valuable resources is discovered (One similar to the Mediterranean)

52-59 MY:Maxlandic merchants begin establishing multiple trade ports and cities all over the Maxantean Sea's coast

59 MY- As the Maxlandian merchants establish ports along the coastline, they discover a small village on an island off the coast. Upon arriving, they are greeted by this island's inhabitants, who tell them that this island is called Ernrac, and that they are the Ernraci. They Ernraci ask if they may establish a trade route to Ernrac, as grains are hard to grow on the island. They say that they will exchange metal ores, of which they have plenty, in return.

Maxlandians find a large deposit of gold, they mine it up and become really rich

Meanwhile, 2 people start sneezing uncontrollably

61 MY: The Ernraci-Maxland friendship agreement is signed. This comes too on a year with an especially bumper crop in the fields, with most of Maxland seeing the biggest harvests in Maxland's history. King Barry's daughter is sent to marry the leader of the Ernraci.

Of the new coastal ports, Port Barry (named in honour of the king) quickly emerges as the biggest one.

The Malliledo Fidid expedition is declared lost. A 150 man army expedition with regular supply lines is dispatched to the mountains, lead by Captain Gore Lizmarr. Their mission is to find the missing expedition.

The last person who was of the original 5000 is also the first person to die of the sneezing disease.

62 MY: the sneezing disease begins showing troubling new symptoms: horrible coughs, fevers, and garish red pocks all over victims' bodies. Rats and mice are believed to carry the disease with them somehow - thus, the disease is dubbed ratpox, and rodents are exterminated wherever they are seen. Hundreds begin to fall ill in the more heavily-populated regions of Maxland.

63 MY: Barry falls ill to ratpox disease, his health deteriorates but is kept alive (For now). Meanwhile, more people are getting infected with the ratpox, even spreading to Ernraci.

On the bright side, the rodent extermination has caused the harvests to be almost twice as good.
