Dimosthénis nods as he speaks, "Aye".

He flips through papers as others continue to audibly give their vote to the speaker.

"Madam Speaker, I may not have 'half a brain,' but I can count in sequential order, a handy skill for tallying the votes of those with the right to vote, and I have enough respect for law and order to not assume the nation now has free lease to riot, rape, murder, and kill because you or an apt replacement have not made it illegal yet. What's the rule against being openly disrespectful of esteemed colleagues on the floor of this body?"

Anticipating he'd be called out of order anyway, he pantomined removing the microphone from the well of the Senate and dropping it on the floor.

He then went around the chamber and non-disruptively shook hands with and hugged and thanked everyone that had recorded a NAY vote, regardless of party affiliation.

“I change my vote for the record to NAY madam speaker.”

He catches Diamantakos walking around and catches him for a quick word.
“Speak to me afterwards if you could. It’s about a GEA that we don’t rush.”, he whispers.

"If the member's question about the rules of disrespect of colleagues is a genuine point of parliamentary inquiry, there is currently no official rule, as we have yet to vote on parliamentary procedures. I will warn the member, and all others, that further discussion of any kind for the remainder of this voting period, excluding casting a vote or immediate emergencies, is liable to result in expulsion from the chamber. I would also ask the member to resume his seat so as to not disturb members still voting."

"Certainly!" Xander whispers as he firmly shakes Senator Tyreena's hand.

"Order. The votes are 16 ayes and 7 nays. The ayes have it, and the Government Act 2018 has passed. This meeting is adjourned and this chamber is dissolved for the first elections under the Government Act 2018. I hope to see many of you return in the House of Representatives."

Senator Diamantakos waited around to catch up with Senator Tyreena and walked with him. "If only the abstentions were nays, huh?"

The Miaphysite Church of Coptic Archism wrote:"I appreciate the member's passion for detail, however at this point I will not withdraw the act from the floor. I have no intention to consider any laws of the dictatorial junta to be valid in our republic, including the Title Code that the member mentioned. The repetition of section numbers is a simple typo, and can be rectified during registration of the bill. As for the lack of inclusion of passed amendments in the distributed copy of the bill, this is a clerical error. I see no genuine reason to withdraw the act from the floor, and any members who continue to argue that bills should be withdrawn for easily solvable typographical errors will be held in contempt of parliament."

Pallis rose from his seat. "Madam speaker, your views of the laws that were enforced during the junta, regardless of when they were actually made law, do not negate the fact that said laws still exist and have not officially been repealed. I would hope that you learn from this and refrain from making further hollow gestures."

The janitor replies, "the provisional senate voted to disband itself. No legislative session is currently active until the election. But you can use the room to give a speech, I don't mind."
