During the 70s, there was active royalist resistance in Canada, which opposed SC's republican rule. Groups mostly operated in rural areas, and mountain areas, where it was harder for SC's forces to catch them, and due of vastness of Canada, rebellious groups could easily hide. Most of them operated in Quebec, Alberta, and Northwest Territories, but some groups were even active in Greenland, and Alaska, however, they met way fewer successes there.
At first, some of the groups managed to deal a significant damage to SC's forces stationed there, and even captured some parts of the Northern Quebec, Greenland, Alaska, and Northern Canada. For only a short time, of course, because they went into hiding once SC started a new offensive.
However, during the 1990s, when Canada was granted the rights as a republican Commonwealth State, royalist resistance started to dwindle away. Due of the better weapons, which Commonwealth had invented, decline of morale, and propaganda, it became more and more harder to hide, and continue to wage war. However, resistance groups continued to be active during the 21st century, and were really crushed only under Trenton Peterson's administration. Still, sporadic attacks were carried out until the 2020ties as well, and even after the defeat of the partisans, SC still feared, that they could return, so they still have lots of soldiers dislocated there today.
