Corrupt Dictatorship

Postby A m e n r i a » Fri Aug 14, 2020 7:01 am

Supporting the LGBT community makes him even worse of a leader, so you're using the wrong conjunction there. A fascist America is just as bad though. Your world sure is messed up.

In many aspects, our universe (R1) is better than irl Earth, what with major world leaders being kind, caring, and compassionate theocrats, vampires who aren't as bloodthirsty (heh) and mean as vampires from other fiction (glares at Dio Brando and Alucard), and a better quality of life in general because of technological advancements, Islam, autocracy, and alien involvement, both intentional and not, there are some aspects of R1 that are nightmare fuel.

One such aspect is the Hong Kong incident. Like in real life, Hong Kong is a hotbed of crime and corruption due to its autonomy from the CCP and backings from the West. However, things took a turn for the worse, when a certain humanoid abomination with the ability to regenerate and spawn more instances of herself from severed body parts that are tailored to a target's preferences manipulated both the CCP and the gangs of Hong Kong, causing a gang war on top of the already unstable situation in the city. After she was discovered and the CCP thinks they're no longer compromised, they decided to evacuate Hong Kong, leaving her with the Triads so it can launch a missile to kill the otherwise seemingly unkillable woman. Think about it. One woman pushing a flawed, yet mostly benign government to nuke one of its own cities. Her reasons? "It sounded like fun."

Now that's an entity worthy of getting an SCP classification.

Not only are the Cosmicians nearly all incompetent (not as in the typical incompetent sense, we mean as in "Plan 9 from Outer Space" level incompetent), they are also spectacularly unlucky, especially when testing experimental weapons. What would normally be a minor incident for any other country, for Greater Cosmicium this ends up sending the lab into another dimension, creates temporal holes in the ground, causes the Khaazai Federation or something to become monochrome, and destroys several prosperous universes. Or something of a similar scale.

note: Plan 9 from Outer Space is a sci-fi "horror" film that's so incredibly bad that it transcends into goodness and absolute comedy.

Oof. Sorry about that.

DxD is not only a military power, but also a political party in the Underworld and, to a lesser extent, in Heaven and the Mythologies. Soldiers may apply for membership in the party, which, after tours of service, may one day elevate them to a political career. One may distinguish a regular soldier from a DxD party member by a badge or patch that depicts a dragon head within a wreath, atop a fasces (the logo of the DxD party). The badge may be found on the soldier's breast, and, in combat, is instead a patch found on the soldier's left upper arm.
NOTE: Despite the presence of the fasces, DxD is NOT a fascist party.

The DxD party has no presence on Earth. This is because DxD does not wish to undermine the sovereignty of nations. Given the existence of direct and puppet territories and bases, one would think this is hypocritical, but the extent of DxD sovereignty in these territories is limited and takes second fiddle to the host nation's sovereignty.
The Army of DxD is an army tasked with defending the world from supernatural threats that aim to bring chaos to or destroy it. It is, for the most part, neutral in human politics (though it does slightly favour NATO), but will actively try to prevent a world war, and, in a war, will take a side if its bases, puppet territories and/or concessions are attacked enough.

Sounds interesting, that's for sure. Even though such approach may hamper and weaken the efforts and make DxD forces look like puppets themselves in some eyes. Sounds rather noble, but being like that is rather inconvenient.

Instead of professional athlets, Skyhooked often sends it's best warriors to various sport tournaments and events. After all, if some man-at-arms or even a tough and skillful man-o-war can effectively fight in all sorts of conditions, they would be easily able to compete and win. While this seems good on paper, I see a few problems with this. While a warrior might be good at fighting, that does not mean they're stronger than a bodybuilder, faster than a runner, or otherwise more athletic than people who have been training most of their lives for one specific field. That doesn't mean they're likely bad, just most likely not the best unless you hand-pick the best warrior in that specific field (I.E the Fastest Warrior, Strongest Warrior, etc), which in that case why not just pick people based on their ability rather than their marshal status?

In every city, town, and village with a population of over 50 people (excluding ones that were made after the apocalypse), there is at least one "Suburbanite". These Suburbanites are people who not only live in the partially rebuilt ruins of Suburbia but dedicate their lives to emulating the pre-event lifestyle which was common among Middle-Class America. They often spend painstaking amounts of time maintaining lawns, grilling meats and vegetables, and maintaining their homes with their limited knowledge and tech. Of course, they are not perfect. They still lack electricity, use tools made from medieval methods, use horses (which they only name after pre-event car brands), and only really have a vague idea of what life was actually like for the pre-event middle class.

Like their pre-event counterparts, they often take up positions that Wexans consider "Middle class", meaning clerical jobs, merchants, rich artisans, and sometimes even religious positions.

Opinion:Huh, from one time it seems as an attempt to imitate ''good old days'', but it seems that the ''suburbanites'' have become a some sort of subculture. Good to see that at least they are trying to live their lifes in a way which might not be the most suited after apocalypse, with ruined houses being the least of concern.

Ministry of Education

Fact time!

''(SC's space expansion AU, a.k.a. the most unlikely scenario. Non-canon, of course! ''Current'' year would be 6030) When Pax Solaris was first proclaimed by the Tom's government (Basically SC but in Solar System), and AIs along with robots saw more usage in the space endeavors such as colonization, there were concerns that one day the AI and robots could rebel against the humanity, especially after the amount of transistors in an integrated circuit started to match up with the human brain (Moore's law of the number of transistors doubling every two years). The suspicious sentiment was also fueled by SC's Hollywood which showed Robots that can feel emotion such as laughing or sadness on their own, but it was suspected that SC's military also consulted with SC's Hollywood to later get funds in millions for new gadgets to show that ''those can be implemented in real life too''. However, it turned out that the fears of AI takeover were largely exaggerated - even when the systems surpassed human brain capacity and a program could pass Turing test, the machines of SC still lacked consciousness, which meant that all of Tom's sign of emotions and consciousness was actually a coordinated development and programming effort of several people over the years (With large portion of them being dead by time of Pax Solaris), with each leaving some form of mark on Tom. Sure, Tom has the capability to use the amount of stored information to produce statements or imitate emotions, but him doing something like leading a machine revolt would be considered as ''outlandish'' by most of current SC's computer science experts. Same applies for the robot leaders of Siberia - their opinions and rhetoric in reality was programmed in by a group of people and motives of which remain unclear - perhaps someone back in former Russian Empire (One of the three superstates) had Indigenist viewpoints, and decided to pass them towards some of the robots out of frustration about the direction in which things were heading (RNGOC and Russian Empire's collapse would come only a few years after the development program of Siberian robots had started). This also explains why some of the Tom's rants have the same fallacies as human would. Overall, when it came to science fiction, some SC's writers returned to how Asimov had described robots in his works. That said, AI still plays a lot of role in running Pax Solaris, including rights to kill - it means that a lot of ground battles with large amount of droids end pretty quickly as a lot of AIs have a quicker reaction time in comparison, which also affects battles and their strategies in space.''

"(On another note, search engines are AI as well, and developing them in SC's world is sometimes more expensive and complicated than to develop a new space rocket model. For this reason, only a few SC's search engines are around, and it means that the main one (SC's equivalent to google) can use that status for not so good purposes, with one of them being providing search data to SCPS, and controlling the other planet internet bubbles (A design implemented due of vast distances in solar system making intetplanetary internet impractical for things like streaming due of large delay times between sending and receiving back signal, although direct links for sending emails do exist), as their engines are modified on the basis of major provider.).''

So basically, all the stuff about machines ever being able to have real emotions is fake and they can only ever mimic them.
'Degradation' was a penalty that could be levied against a member of the nobility officially for 'committing acts that debased or defiled their rank and status'.

A member of the nobility who was punished by degradation would be stripped of all their titles and privileges as a member of the noble class and branded with the letter 'R' (roturier/roturière [commoner]) on their forehead, which was intended to make it known to all who saw them that they were a former nobleman/noblewoman who had been degraded to the status of a commoner.

On a technical level, the concept of degradation still exists, as the Sovereign maintains the authority to strip members of the nobility of their titles and privileges (which, in the modern day, merely amount to order of precedence and, for nobles with titles that are inherited, the privilege of an audience with the monarch, the privilege to attend the annual Imperial Dinner at the Palais d'Allais, and the privilege to hold certain titles of nobility), but the entire concept of a former noble being branded with the letter R to show that they've been 'degraded' into a commoner declined after the 18th century, with the last instance of it occurring being in 1836.

Ahh, public humiliation. Never gets old.

The Underworld and DxD are currently discussing plans to create a DxD division for the Underworld Youth Scouts. While the regular Youth Scouts functions like the Boy/Girl Scouts, the DxD division shall function like the Komsomol or the Hitler Youth. Scouts of this division shall be taught basic military training, including, but not limited to, further survival training, how to handle, fire, assemble and disassemble an AR-1 rifle, and how to repair and maintain a tank.

There is debate among high-ranking officials on both sides.

It is a good step to militarize your society.

Despite that Marsoslavia is a socialist state, the moral capitalist practices are tolerated by government. However, over 81% of population belongs to the middle class (usually they are having sole proprietorships or companies of several people). To the lower class (18% of population) usually are included physical workers, hoteliers, waiters etc. To the upper class belongs only 1% of population of Marsoslavia. Usually they are a government representatives (including the King and Dukes) and ministers, but also high-ranking military officers, owners of the state armements plants, mines etc.

Eighty-one. Flipping. Per cent. ‘Some measures,’ sure. Perhaps we should take a look at this economic scheme. I hope you don't have labor shortage.

Back in the 1870s, concerns about poor and unsafe working conditions in factories owned by the white businessmen had started to rise. A significant portion of displeased workers had left their jobs and had found new jobs in factories owned by the Native businessmen. Native-owned factories, though smaller in scale, were on par in terms of technology. Even though their profits were at first limited by early environmental regulations and social security offers, it eventually was the wider scope of safety and social regulations that had attracted the workers. That's what I call the competition!

Did the established businesses try to adopt the same methods, or were they too late to succeed?

Due to the fact that the northern regions of Outer Acharet are so poorly developed and lack major transportation infrastructure, coupled with the difficulty involved in transporting materiel across the Crescent Mountains approximately half of the year, the Revolutionary Army's defense strategy for the region relies largely on ensuring that each military Region, defined as an area of land hosting a single Army group, of the nation is equipped to perform stalling actions and to fight independently against invaders until help arrives. They are also equipped with helicopters and light transports to quickly cross the arboreal forests of Outer Acharet. This means two things: One, Outer Acharet's north is a slog to fight through, even if the south might fall quickly, thanks to its more moderate terrain. Two, Outer Acharet's military quite literally consists of Canuck VC riding around in Hueys.

Some tried and succeeded back then, while most business owners were somewhat spiteful of Natives and their ‘vile ways,’ yet had to yield to a small extent. Nevertheless, this event had set a major precedent of what we would call today ‘socialist policies,’ preparing ground to the subsequent rise of the Progressives.

That's not a bad plan taking into account the geography and lack of infrastructure. Though it could bite back when it comes to firepower capability, however, it doesn't look like an aggressive approach was in the plan for troops stationed there.

The Borgovian passport is almost entirely white with the Crest of Borgia (seen on the flag) coloured in gold with dark red linings. The front page containing traveler's info will have its Coat of Arms, a Roman style Laurel Wreath and a purple lotus inside it in a transparent, faded colour. The outer layers of each page is a dark wine colour red and there's also a golden coloured "bookmark", a thin strip of cloth for travelers to mark an empty page for quick access by customs be it getting an approval stamp or ensuring Borgovian customs can quickly get to the page needed to confirm your identity. Like all passports, it has RFID in case of emergencies. Each page for visas or whatnot will contain a transparent image of historical Borgovian artworks ranging from the Victorian Era to the 1980s be it paintings or sculptures. All texts are in black colour but with either gold or red lining.

The front cover will contain the country's name in its 2 official (Spanish & Italian) languages + Chinese:
Republica de Borgovia
Repubblica di Borgovia
勃艮共和国 (Bogen Gongheguo)

Below the name is the Borgia's Crest, and below it is "Passport" in Spanish, Italian, and Chinese. It currently sits as the 11th most powerful passport, trailing behind the USA, UK, France, Belgium, UAE, and Singapore especially. It is the only other passport, besides Belgium, to have its name in 3 languages of which Belgium's in Dutch, German, and French. It is also the only passport in the Western World to have Chinese in travel related documents.

and CHINESE??? That was unexpected.

Though Greater Cosmicium has clear speed limits on its roads (50 km/h on urban roads, 90 km/h on paved rural roads, and 110-130 km/h on highways), rarely does a Cosmician travel below TWICE the speed limit, and often even more than that, ironically mostly in crowded megacity roads. Despite these absolutely reckless and insane speeds that few Cosmician cars could reach naturally, there's actually fewer accidents and injuries/deaths per million kilometers than there was when the speed limits were properly enforced.

Kinda makes sense. Less accidents occur if there's more room to navigate, and this is assuming your nation follows "Fast lane only, slow lane only" rules like Germany or various eastern countries.

"Cronus of Mendoza" was an infamous psychopath who, during the 1860s in Mendoza, not only killed his own kids to save his dying wife, but also use cats to lure children before decapitating both. He'd have bags of the heads of cats and children. Real name being Luis Galindo-Ramirez, his wife fell ill and her skin begins cracking, face pale, body mass becoming closer to bones inside a bag of skin than anything else. During the infamous 'Third Plague', Luis became desperate to try to save his wife that he fell into some state of insanity, inventing his own rituals and worship of an unknown, unnamed deity. Why he scribbles about it in his book, what came of it, how it came to be, will never be known. Still, all we know is that this insanity-created 'ritual' called for killing children and cats, mix their blood with wine and various other liquids, and bathe his mostly vegetative wife in it. The rest of his victims are used to make some demented skincare product to apply to his wife to preserve her skin. He'll continue to lure children away and killing cats, both stray and domesticated, so long as he deludes himself into thinking his wife will get better. The most horrifying of it all is the murder of his twin daughters and using everything but their screams to make a stew that he uses to feed himself and his wife, one bowl being offered to his made-up deity. It's how he got the name "Cronus of Mendoza" as the Greek Titan Cronus ate his own children.

He went mostly unnoticed for weeks since his victims were mainly stray cats and impoverished Slavic, Germans, and Celtic immigrants. They were seen as barbarians in the eyes of "Rome's Descendants" back in the 1860s. Thus, police mostly didn't pay much attention to missing "barbarian children" until the decline of stray cats and mounting pressure of worried parents forced a thorough investigation, especially after an Italian-Borgovian child & their cat went missing. Luis was found with multiple bags full of heads belonging to cats and various missing children. The trial lasted only hours before execution by firing squad, his last words being "Please take care of my wife". His wife, vegetative since the ordeal began and never able to speak or move since, succumbed to the plague just days later. There are 92 heads of stray cats and 14 heads of children found. All well preserved and embalmed for reasons we'll never know.

Happy early Halloween

Not going to lie, simply put, the first paragraph has already gave us a clear depiction of this man's gorish insanity. Though it is quite a relief that he did not escape unpunished, his crimes however are more than meets the eye

While the tradition of owning mistresses in English and British history can be notoriously traced back long into the past, beginning with Henry I of England, this tradition however was markedly put to an official end in 1925 when letters patent granted by King Edward VII formally prohibited "descendants of the Sovereign and the Prince of Wales from committing themselves to an extramarital affair while bound to a legal union recognised by the Church of England". In the accompanying text, the Archbishop of Canterbury or the Sovereign is expected to refuse consent for any sort of divorce or subsequent remarriage in the case of such event, which meant that those included in the proclamation are strictly forbidden from divorcing their spouses in order to marry an another romantic interest. Prior to this however, such tradition has since been abandoned, beginning from William IV of the United Kingdom and onwards.

The period between the Empire of Ankras and the Federation of Ankras, dominated by civil war, the governing force of the Ankrasian state was the "Revolutionary Junta of Ankras." The government of the entity was the "Revolutionary Military Council" which were ideologically trained generals and officers within the combined forces of the Ankrasian Alliance for the Defense of the Revolution. The leader of Ankras was selected from among this Council and was ranked the "Supreme Commander of the Revolution" which would later be renamed to "Grand Marshal of the Revolution." It represented the leadership of the pro-democratic anti-monarchist forces.

In the 78th Year of the New Era, much of the Grand Marshal's powers were reduced and given to the newly-formed civilian government in the Revolutionary Assembly, Presiding Council, and Prime Minister positions.

In the 85th Year of the New Era, the position of Grand Marshal lost its political power in its entirety with the complete democratization of Ankras's political system, the creation of the Presidency, and the establishment of the "Federation of Ankras."

It took 85 years? Sounds like someone was slacking off. Also, god I hate perpetual revolution types.

In at least the F7verse timeline depending on how the reaction to this goes, these images are accurate representations of the residents of Sauria and Animus. They and the planets they're on look like good-quality yet still Nintendo 64 models.

What will happen if I'll visit your planet? I'll still be normal or I'll transform into Nintendo 64 model?

On 11th of September, 2004 ardent anti-communist Pavel Ryzhevsky decapitated a statue of Lenin in Grodno. He also nailed his manifesto to the headless statue, in which he accused Lenin of the deaths of many millions of innocents and sentenced him to beheading. But this was not enough - Pavel also poured red paint on the statue, which was supposed to symbolize the blood of those killed. Ryzhevsky was found quickly enough and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 1.5 years. After that, he did not commit crimes, but he remained an anti-communist. The Lenin statue was restored a year later.

He was fully within his rights. Lenin was a monster who should not have any statues built of him. Man should've gotten a medal, not a prison sentence.

While in some ways, the world of North Germany is a better one than our own (no Holocaust, the second World War was much less destructive and genocide-y, no Cold War or major Communist vs. Capitalist Global conflict and -more importantly- no Interventionist USA), in many ways it is much much darker. One of these is the sheer number of lives lost throughout the Decolonization. One major point of this loss of life was in the Congo Area. While the majority of North German Mittelafrika got its independence through either non-violent means or short wars with not much loss of life, Kongo was different. After the majority of Mittelafrika was given independence, North Germany decided to cut its losses where it could and give up on its now costly but not that useful colonial empire. As such, they unilaterally pulled out of Central Africa (In Real Life, this would be the modern states of DRC, Republic of Congo, Gabon and Central African Republic). This triggered the long Warlord Era. The loss of life in this period was so much that by the time a multicontinental taskforce moved in to stabilize Congo (the 1998-92 The Intervention in Congo), only 1 million people still lived in the area. When North Germany abandoned Congo, there were 19 million.

Depends on if you can easily be stylized to fit―and even then only after years of continuous exposure to the magic emanating from Cerinia, the local star and namestake of the Cerinian star system. If you have a fursona or something then it'll be a lot quicker, starting by the sixth month and ending on the tenth. You won't end up looking like... eugh.

That was not what was said for clarification. I was afraid I worded that poorly. My fault wholly. The Empire, Junta, and Federation all operate within the New Era.

Right, sorry, I have a bit of blame here too.

How did you manage to fuck up your African colonies, if WW2 was less destructive in your universe? You should able to reassert balance of power in Africa.

I mean, yea, you're in the stomach of a weird bear abomination thing, you're not gonna have a fun time either way.

On Spaedrif, Ignasae keep aphid-like insects similar in size to dogs as pets, having done so since the 8000s BC. Actual dogs and canine animals, on the other hand, deeply disturb them with how similar they look to Tzakyuza and Ignasae.

What happens when you cross anime powers and overpowered leaders with furries, all written by a bored Homestuck fan with too much time? Well, you get Rumei. A multiethnic, FT republic with both might and magic that let it conquer the entire Orion Arm.
A 7.6 (this is probably outdated but I can’t do the calculations rn) (Tier 9, Level 6, Type 9) according to this index.
Come to The Orion, we got C U L T U R E and F U R R I E S

Show Recommendation: Cobra Kai. It is very, very good.
IC Name: Roman Republic, or simply Rome (Rumei). Occasionally called the Ignisian Republic. Current year is 2697.
