Having more foxes than you have people? That's a really scary thought. Not because Foxes are scary, mind you, but because of the sheer number.

While one out of every 3 states in our world is a monarchy (42 countries), only four are Absolute monarchies: The Hashemite and the Saudi Kingdoms in the Middle East, Thailand in East Asia, and Albania in the Balkans. Bulgaria was also functionally an absolute monarchy until the Thaw of 1997 when, under threat of a violent socialist revolution (and fearing for an incursion by either Romania, Turkey, Greece, or Yugoslavia while in the process) the Bulgarian Tsar allowed the formation of a democratic and completely independent legislature (which had been under his own control and de facto an advisory council until then). Despite all thoughts to the contrary, the Tsardom of Russia has not been an absolute monarchy, not that its last string of Tsars and Tsarinas didn't wish otherwise.

I'm interested in what the modern Tsardom of Russia looks like.

Diarcesia has a town called Glasway and another called Norgow (pronounced "nor-gov"). A visitor from Gaea may get confused once they learn that its inhabitants are called Glaswegians and Norwegians, respectively.

Huh... That's just a way to cause chaos for visiting tourists, ain't it? It's interesting to see how the parallels developed, though..

The Uvoanian government, in a joint effort with NATO and the Warsaw Pact, in 1962, estblished the ISO- The International Space Organization, in order to help with the colonization of the planets of the Sol system. Their first venture had been to take over the vast number of nation-owned orbital stations, platforms, shipyards, and moonbases. Their next task had been unifying the hundreds of different orbital designs, into a unified orbital transport fleet. Rapid decomissioning, and then a quick rebuild, of the vast number of shuttles. Tugs and barges were commisioned rapidly, and then put into service on the long haul runs to the asteroid fields in order to serve as modernization forces out there.

However, the king of the brand new ISO was the 'Rhino'. The first true Orbital Ship. First rolling off the line on January 1st, 1970, this ship class, by 1985, would have 349 members to it's name. Of course, other ship classes would be estblished, such as the 'Planet' orbital dreadnought, the 'Elephant' class tug, the 'Warthog' passenger ship, and dozens of other small ships. But, despite all this? The crowning jewels of the ISO has been the Inter-Planetary Launch, and the Solar Colonial Effort.

We shall cover the initial one first- The Inter-Planetary Launch, or IPO, is an orbital service station which is used to refuel, repair, service, and commission brand new Orbital Ships. It is run by a joint crew of 5,600 people from every nation involved in the ISO. Construction started in 1967, and was completed by 1974, and since then, it has expanded to handle more and more diverse kinds of jobs. It's vast storage tanks are home to every kind of fuel a ship needs- Coal, oil, diesel, and whatever else a ship needs to thrive.

The largest, and most important, jewel in the ISO's crown, however, is the SCE- The Solar Colonial Effort. Starting in 1964, this effort would unify the far flung, and scattered, colonies. This included more colonies in the Asteroid Belt, turning the material left floating in space into more ships, cities, colonies, and into more money for a burgeoning economy. Even within the SCE, there are shining colonies which stand above all others- Port O'Neil, Mars, and the Deep-Horizon. Let us focus on these three-

Port O'Neil is one of the primary Asteroid Colonies, with over 1,750,000 people living within it's huge hull. Built between 1955 and 1957, by the North American Space Agency. It serves as a relay point on the run from Earth towards Deep-Horizon, and as a relay hub into the rest of the Asteroid Colonies. It's huge hull also serves as a freight relay, barges of cargo which tugs pull in being transferred to the larger bulk-ships. The large bulk-ships, which can't navigate the tight asteroid fields, than transfer their cargo to the barges. This process provides jobs, repair work, and a huge economic boost.

The Mars Colony, itself, is another critical venture. A series of small, orbital, colonies estblished between 1948 and 1964, was the first starting place. These smaller colonies served as mining ventures for their governments, and the rare private company, but were small. This changed in 1964, with the Mars Transformative Effort. Rings of super conductors, strung around the equator, helped to re-create the magnetic field. Advanced energy production facilities- Incredibly powerful solar arrays, provided power to an array of Splitters, which seperated the oxygen found in the martian soil, and spread it into the atmosphere. Than, by 1970, six years after the activation of the super-conductors, the thermal-plants started burning coal. The green-house gasses, primarily CO2, increased the temperature.

This meant, by 1972, Mars was declared a habitable planet. By the year 1980, over 47 Million people had moved to mars, into it's brand new cities, it's new farms, and the new age of the world. Further efforts, carefully cultivated by the ISO, began to plant vast forests, and encourage an earth-like eco system to thrive. By 1984, this earth-like eco-system was thriving, and even more vibrant than Earth in some ways. This encouraged huge economic boons, and Mars has become a combined bread-basket, and industrial hub.

The final, crown-jewel, to cover is Deep-Horizon. Deep-Horizon, placed 175,000,000 Kilometers away from the solar object Pluto, and is intended to serve as an eventual first step from Sol. It's huge metallic form was started in 1948, in the orbit of the Moon, and was then towed to it's position in 1954, and finished in 1977. The massive construct is composed of four rings- Each of which has a diameter of 7.5 Kilometers, and is is 2 kilometers in width, all rotate around a central station. This huge colony is intended to serve as a prototype for other colonies, which will be launched out to the stars by the year 2005, in order to colonize other star systems. Deep-Horizon itself, however, also serves as a scientific retreat. It's vast surface makes it perfect to run experiments upon, and study the stars which lurk outside our own system.

One of the other most critical creations of the ISO is the 'Main-Line', a 'Beam Transport Network', where freighters can be hooked up to a series of beam projectors, which connect Earth, Mars, and Port O'Neil. This wide-beam transport network is used to decrease the fuel a freighter needs to carry on a trip between these destinations, and thus decreasing the cost to travel the over-all network, as nearly anything being shipped on these networks will eventually run through the 'Main-Line'. Plans exist, by 1988, to expand the 'Main-Line' to all the major colonies, and plans even exist for a 'loop-line', which will run through the entire Kupier belt of asteroids. This extension ,the-so called 'Kupier Loop', is planned to be completed by 1992.

All of these colonies run critically to the ISO, and the vast efforts of humanity to expand it's reach beyond Earth, and Sol. It is estimated, with just these four colonies combined, pull in over 198 Trillion USD per Fiscal Quarter. The true economic impact of the vast web of colonies cannot be under-estimated, or under-stated.

It is quite amazing that space technology advanced so far so early in your universe. Is there a reason for this?

The Kingdom of Gallia(France) was not fully integrated into the Alpes a Septentrionali Imperium until around 1720. This was mostly because of the laziness of early medieval kings of the Alpes and the Viceroyalty of the Gauls and Franks(Capetian France). The Viceroyalty was created in 914 after the Franco-Alpini empire finally dissolved into the multiple kingdoms and viceroyalties that dotted Europe at the time. The Viceroy of the Gauls and Franks was initially an appointed position with Alpeian Kings giving the position to those in an eerily similar line to the IRL kings of France before giving the position to the Capets. They would go on to rule unattended by the Alpeian Kings, only paying tribute and giving aid when needed to prove their position. But this changed when the Angevin empire and Hundred Years War started to affect the Kingdom of Alpes. After these events, the king of Alpes started to try to assert his rule over the VIceroyalty, regularly making changes to the policy given by the Viceroy, and even intervening in treaties and putting an Alpeian on the. An example of this would be the intervention of King Jean(Iohannes) II of the Alpes in the Ordinance of Villers-Cotterêts, specifically articles 110 and 111. He was angered by the Ordinance basically discontinuing the use of Latin and decided to remedy this by invading the Viceroyalty with forces from Alpes and Occitania, Aquitaine, the Pyrenees, and the Vendée to assert the authority of the king of Alpes, as king of Gallia. This ultimately ended with the Ordinance being changed to include the status of Latin as the second language of law and all major legal changes needing the approval of the King of Alpes to become law.

The VIceroyalty was de jure dissolved in 1716, with the signing of the Treaty of Le Mans, and was de facto dissolved by 1720. But the influence of the viceroyalty can be seen throughout the Imperium today. French(Also known in the Alpeian universe as Frankic-Gallic) for example has become the dominant language in the imperium. (But unlike RL, the regional dialects and Latin are much more prevalent.) Along with this many Institutions in the Imperial Government where imported from Gallia, such as the use of parlements and provinces. The Kingdom of Gallia also has many of its own separate institutions in place. Today the current Imperial Family are descendants from a Gallo-Alpeian branch
Note: Many factbooks are in a constant state of WIP or being considered for entire rework or deletion

Welcome to The Alpes a Septentrionali Imperium, a nation where I brutalize and adapt Latin and French History to my needs to get my Ultraroyalist Absolutist French Monarchy with a vaguely French-sounding fictional royal family to work.

Don't ask about the flag, it has something to do with RMB RP that I'm involved with.

Latin is a dead language(not exactly dead, just very, very, very dialectal to the point of being mutually unintelligible). Even when proposed as an inter-ethnic language, the language of the majority is a better idea than a dead language.(Hence why Russian is the main inter-ethnic language of NT)

(NT's timeline) Vladimir Putin was a politician with the Union Party from 1992 to 2023. He was first elected to the Russian Provincial Assembly in the 1994 Russian Provincial elections as one of the 26 representatives from Saint Petersburg in Ingrija Oblast(OTL Russian Leningrad Oblast). He was elected for the next 4 years(2 elections, 1 every 2 years) to the same position until 1998, when he began campaigning for one of the Rossija Province's National Assembly seats. Putin gained support in and around Ingrija Oblast, and was elected to one of the 900 seats from Rossija Province in the National Assembly. Putin was reelected in 2005 and 2010, though resigned in 2013 to campaign for Premier in the 2015 Premier election. Campaigning across NT, he mostly campaigned for lowering taxes by lowering the amount of money taken by each individual tax(rather than the National Party candidate, Nikita Mordvinov, who had campaigned for lowering taxes by removing taxes rather than lowering the amount taken by taxes). Though in 2015, Vladimir Putin was defeated by National Party candidate Nikita Mordvinov and Communist Party candidate Yori Saitou. He then campaigned in the 2020 Premier election, though lost the election, coming in 4th, to National Party candidate Nikita Mordvinov, one of the other Union Party candidates, Isaija Gavrilović, and Communist Party candidate Yori Saitou. In 2023, Putin resigned from the Union Party. Most of his life was uneventful after, and on 29 September 2031, Putin died age 78.

It is good that there is at least one Russia that was free of Putin's corrupt politics. No matter how dystopian that Russia is at any rate.

The Hashemite Kingdom is one of the two main Arab states and one of the three main powers in the Middle East. It was originally created when the British Empire agreed to return the majority of its crown colonies in the Middle East to the Hashemite king in Hejaz during the Interwar era. The reason it is not named "Arabia" was born of a compromise with the "Saudi Kingdom" after the second Hashemite-Saudi War which barred either country to name itself Arabia. The Hashemite Kingdom is divided into the five "states" of Hejaz, Lebanon, Syria, Aleppo, and Mesopotamia. In the modern age, the Hashemite state suffers a violent separatist crisis in Lebanon, mild pan-nationalist threats from Kurdistan, and the ever-present threat of imperialist aggression from the Turks. Ironically enough, the State of Israel may be the only state in the Middle East that it doesn't have a bad relationship with.

Well, interesting thing about the Arabian Kingdoms.
Esperanto is Greater Gothica's state language. The origins of its recovery goes back to the era of Armand the Witch-King, who ordered it spoken throughout Eisenheim up to today. As one of its results, Proto-Esperanto has become a liturgical language of the Gothic Heterodox Church, and the Gothic Primary Chronicle was also written in Esperanto. Also, some Old East Slavic and Proto-Germanic influences were later added following the death of Armand the Witch-King, and the famed epic Lay of Ravenna's Suicide was also written in Esperanto. Two out of every three of the entire population are Esperanto-speakers, but there are some who spoke a mixture of both English and Esperanto.

Of every constructed language, I suppose Esperanto would be the most intuitive. Ones with really strange and pedantic grammar rules like Loglan and Lojban really wouldn't. So yeah, makes sense.

Despite having expectedly frosty relations with much of the western world, Crysuko is entirely open and accommodating to tourists, with many resorts and attractions set aside. With a recent act greatly streamlining the visa process to make entry to the country much easier. However. Many accuse the government of surreptitiously training left wing extremists under guise of travellers and tourists, Senerra regimental college offers full courses in general AN DO specialised military training. A double edged sword.

I am inclined to not support measures aimed at 'streamlining' and 'simplifying' things.

Retail banking in Great Nortend is very localised as customer accounts are maintained and updated at home branches, on paper, by hand.

Normal or 'simple' accounts do not allow the customer to withdraw money at a branch other than his home branch without prior arrangement or lengthy confirmation with the home branch. The customer may only deposit cash or cheques, and may only withdraw cash. Accounts may additionally either have a chequebook or a ledgerbook. Deposits may be made at any branch, but it may take up to a week to clear, especially for cheques.

Chequebooks enable the customer to pay without cash by effectively allowing the payee to withdraw money in the payer's behalf. Cheques can be only paid at the home branch of the payer and thus can take up to a week for cash to be available to the payee. Cash advances are not usually allowed. Chequebooks are usually only available for those with good character. They are most often used for cash accounts, as savings accounts have a limited number of withdrawals monthly which may be exceeded if cheques are presented together for payment.

A ledgerbook (i.e. a passbook) is an updated and authenticated ledger of transactions and funds in an account stamped and initialled by the teller for every deposit and withdrawal. A ledgerbook can be used to deposit cash and cheques and withdraw cash at any branch. A ledgerbook can only be updated once a paid cheque clears, unless it is a bank cheque, certified cheque or guaranteed cheque, as it may bounce. Ledgerbooks are most often used for saving accounts, although they are also commonly used by those without cheque facilities.

An account cannot both have a ledgerbook and a chequebook, as the ledger requires that every transaction be recorded by a teller. The most common bank customer has a cash account with a chequebook and a saving account with ledgerbook. These are colloquially known as cheque and ledger accounts respectively. Plain saving accounts are somewhat less common.

Well, that is most definitely an interesting explanation of Great Nortend’s Banking system and how it functions. Very well done. It’s enjoyable reading about how archaic GN is compared to OTL, but that it’s a bad thing.
Despite anti-Catholic sentiments, cathedrals and other papal buildings are respected within Athelland, and Catholics receive a neighbourly welcome from natives out of European solidarity and brotherhood, as both pagans and Christians contributed to Europe’s progression and are integral parts of its history.

However, Athellanders are usually strongly opposed to European federalism.

I'm not quite sure how those two facts ("There are cathedrals in Athelland and people go to them from outside the country" and "Athelland opposes European federalism") are even remotely related to be honest.

there's nothing quite like some good old fashioned western meddling in local affairs to screw up and overcomplicate local politics and borders. It's entirely likely they could have come to a workable solution without a load of foreign noses being stuck into it

All drugs are legal here, regardless of what they are. To support this, there are what are called "black clinics" where the purity of drugs are assessed, dosages measured and administered cleanly and safely by medical professionals, with the takers kept under observation for the duration. Since this program was introduced in the 1980s, narcotic related deaths and crimes dropped sharply, and have stayed low since.

Opinion: Huh, so I assume, that drug dealers don't exactly care about Godularans, as they just don't make up an important enough part of the market. However, I assume, that Godularans are probably well received by restaurant chiefs, especially if they are aware of their guilty pleasure - trying out new food tastes. At least there aren't that many junkies and alcoholics, then.

Fact time!

*SCPS agent takes a cup of coffee*

''Centrism (Or moderates per se) is pretty much considered a ''dead position'' in SC, and extremism and zealotry in general has taken over many aspects of SC's life, not only politics. Even the democratic underground groups usually are uncompromising, as they consider military skirmishes as ''the only way to topple the SC's tyranny'', and don't believe, that the system can be reformed from inside. One of those examples is United Democratic Union (Also called as United Partisan Organization in SC's universe) - an underground resistance organization in United Megastates, which has declared itself as a successor to the Republican and Democrat parties, which got banned in 50s by SC's leadership (Hence the Republican/Democrat divide isn't as significant as in OTL). UDU is the sole partisan organization in United Megastates, due of most of others being crushed under SC's boot, and with UDU being the only one, which remained too radical to just bend over and die. UDU's leadership also absorbed various other, smaller democratic underground organizations either through mutual agreements, or infiltration, and violent purge of the leadership (One example being UDU infiltrating the SC's New England underground group "Minutemen" in 70s), as UDU's leadership saw them as "without perspective" - in fact, one of UDU's leaders said, that "Only a single, large organization could deal a significant damage to Tom's rule." (In fact, not only UDU's commanders, but most of its members as well are not allowed to use their real names in documents or conversation, in order to prevent danger for the group's members. So, even SCPS knows a few leaders of UDU only by their nicknames). Also, a lot of the moderate democrats were killed in battles with SC's army and police, meaning, that the UDU's core became even more radical, and battle-hardened. Some of them also had lost a lot of what was dear to them, especially their family, which meant, that some of them were left as husks filled with sadness and hatred for the SC's tyrants. That, in combination with UDU's zealotry, has led to UDU's partisans committing various nasty actions. While a lot of them are blown out of proportion, or just straight made-up by SNN's propaganda machine (In fact, SCPS retribution, and anti-partisan operations often see more cruelty shown by government's forces, often by going excessive with cruelty), UDU's fighters still aren't exactly merciful, when it comes to dealing with supporters for Tom's rule - there have been reported cases of UDU's fighters brutally killing the SC's soldiers and their families during night cover, or usage of shrapnel explosives in sabotage, along with armed assaults against commander escorts. UDU's leadership's relations with students are complicated - from one side, a lot of its younger supporters are loyal to the group, and UDU's recruitment happens mostly between younger people as well, but from other side, UDU views those students loyal to the party as "very dangerous", especially those, who would be the administrators, and soldiers of SC in future. So, UDU frequently sends in spies in universities as well, to take out the students deemed as ''most dangerous'' by UDU's leaders. Youth members of UDU are under the suspicion of UDU's veterans in particular - usually people in their 40s, or even with grey hair already. Also, while UDU has proclaimed democratic state as it's end goal, UDU's structure is still somewhat despotic, as UDU considers itself as more of a military organization, and thinks, that "In military organizations, democracy doesn't work as well". Also, quite a few of UDU's members think, that "temporary despotism is better for surviving in times as dire as living under SC's rule", because its leader thinks, that "If an organization is too democratic during times of emergency, it is easier for its enemies to infiltrate''. UDU has regional commanders for all 9 SC's megastates, which are supposed to lead the each branch's operations with the help from people like treasurer (which gathers income and buys various weaponry for regional partisans), propagandists, which are supposed to sow rebelliousness in the local populace, and try to keep the UDU's democratic dream alive, and ultimately - the grunts as well, as they make a large part of the fighting forces of UDU, and without them, UDU couldn't function either, because what are the upper echelons without soldiers? UDU's partisans in 90s, Pacifica. UDU's militants in Rockies.''

''Party's Liberal wing, on the other hand, is a break-off from the Reformist Wing, and in comparison to Reformist wing, it has way more pro-democratic stance. Similarly to UDU, Party's Liberal Wing has a combination of center-leftists, and center-rightists. However, unlike UDU, they believe, that The Party can be changed from inside. ''UDU has Thompson Guns as their weapons, but we have extreme patience'' is a fairly common slogan between the Party's Liberal Wing, and is often heard in its secret meetings. However, Party's Liberal wing members often keep their true beliefs in secret, and often disguise as nationalists, or just apolitical, in order to better blend in, as democratic beliefs still aren't tolerated in SC's government. Despite that, Party's Liberal Wing still remains a small group in SC's government - even Reformists view them with suspicion, and the SC's Old Guard members, along with supporters of the traditionalist wing of the Party, often say, that ''the biggest mistake of the Reformist wing was allowing opposition in any form, even if (relatively) controlled by state'', often citing ''lack of opposition force as one of the fascism's main tenets'', and arguing, that ''when opposition starts to appear, it is clear, that system isn't working''. Party's left wing also views them with suspicion, often calling them ''bourgeois sellouts''. Still, a lot of the Party's Liberal wing members are very radical about their beliefs, and have a detailed set of plans of what to do, in case they could successfully hijack The Party over decades, or even centuries - like reprogramming Tom, trials of various high-ranked SC's politicians and officials, etc. However, their leaders also often remind their members, that ''in case if everything breaks down, and goes down to hell, be ready to take out your guns, and fight for your cause''. There have even been secret emergency plans made, in case if Tom would think, that the wing has ''outlived its usefulness'' - members would be supposed to grab whatever firearms they have stocked, and run to wilderness (Like forests, mountains, or deserts), and join the UDU's partisans, to continue resistance in armed form. Unlike UDU, which had existed about since 60s, Party's Liberal Wing arose only after the Reformist Wing's reforms in 1980s. While UDU remained underground, the Reformist period made it easier for more covert democrats to get into the Party, from which's seats they previously were blocked from. (Still, even UDU were affected by the Reformist period, as they intensified their activities after it, and started to operate in new regions like Appalachia, Ozarks, and in the South.)''

''Overall, both UDU, and Party's liberal wing have decried moderates as "spineless". Of course, individuals with positions, which could be described as ''moderate'', exist in SC's world, but those people are usually few and far in-between, and basically marginalized in SC's political discourse, and are pushed to the corners of it, while ridiculed by both the SC's totalitarians, and democrat resistance. For a lot of UDU's (And Party's liberal wing) members, moderate ideas are often associated with ''middle ground'' fallacy, especially when considering the fact, that compromise is not really possible between Tom's totalitarians, and the resistance, as they both want each other dead. In fact, term ''Radical centrist'' was at first used pejoratively by SC's soldiers to refer to the UDU's fighters, but UDU eventually embraced the term. Also, as a lot of UDU's members are a mixed bunch, when it comes to political views, some of them still hold conservative views on things like religion, or LGBT+ community. Due of the different views, of how a country should be after democracy would be restored, sometimes there is infighting between center-leftists and center-rightists, for an example, although UDU's leaders usually try to prevent that, before it goes out of control, saying, that ''a single arrow can be broken easily, but a pack of arrows, which stands together, can't be broken''. However, UDU's presence outside of United Megastates is limited - it failed to expand its partisan network to the SC's Central America, partially due of not establishing strong enough contacts with local groups, and in other SC's regions, local democratic resistance groups don't align with UDU, as they usually have little need to. Only area outside Megastates, where UDU has a significant presence, is SC's Canada. After the destruction of most of Canadian royalist resistance, UDU filled the vacuum between partisan operations, and had somewhat mixed successes in expanding its network there. However, unlike in Megastates, there are still other partisan groups in SC's Canada, like Inuit Guerrillas, which don't recognize Greater North's authority, and continue to wage warfare against it. However, even there, UDU is still the largest organization in terms of numbers, as other groups are much smaller - main reason preventing UDU infiltrating and absorbing other SC's Canadian partisan groups is mostly lack of funds for such operations. The Party's liberal wing has also little presence outside the United Megastates, and while some factions in other SC's Commonwealths have voiced their support for the wing, it hasn't gained any seats in other Commonwealths, as it is primarily oriented around SC's ''core territories''. It also sees little reason to expand its bases in other regions, as most of SC's Commonwealths have strong equivalents of Party's Liberal Wing already, so the Liberal Wing rather tries to cooperate with those groups instead. In great secrecy, of course, as one wrong step could reveal the entire network for SCPS agents. So, yeah - liberals in SC's timeline are something entirely different.''

Now that's quite the internal security issue you have there.

The last mention of keelhauling among the Palmyrian Navy was on 2018, when the Palmyrian Marine Corps dragged the bodies of the leaders of the Islamist and Communist northern rebellions along the bottom of the landing helicopter assault ship PWS Carlo Maginhawa, after a trial onboard the ship facilitated by representatives of the Supreme Court charged them guilty of rebellion, sedition, and treason, with keelhauling being the prescribed method of execution.

Their bodies were never found; it is assumed that dragging their bodies along the bottom, submerged portion of the hull entirely shredded their bodies beyond the point of recovery.

EDIT: Clarification. As with usual keelhauling they were dragged along the bottom of the ship, not on the top deck.

Well, that's quite grisly. I suppose the only real news here is that they were caught at all. Once that happens, public enemies almost always end up being executed.

One particular quirk of kalanta (Antarctic animation) is a sex trope: When characters are sexually aroused, they will sneeze. It can be played for either comedy or drama. The sneeze usually happens once, as a big (or not-so-big) reveal, but it can happen multiple times if the writers are going for a more comedic angle.

Well, that's anti-climactic. Imagine thinking your wife is cute, but you just sneeze your brains out. Wouldn't recommend.

President Artemia's leadership not only has Inkopolitia divided, as half of the nation supports her leadership while the other half wants to see her leadership ended, it also has the nations of Earth polarized. Some of the world's right-leaning leaders, including the ones in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Spain, Mexico and Canada, have thorougly congratulated President Artemia's leadership, seeing it as one of economic prosperity and protection of Inkopolitia's national identity against the Communist threat.

Other left-leaning world leaders, such as Rafael Chávez of East Venezuela, Xi Jinping of China and Martin Norisiya of Russia, have actively condemned Artemia's leadership, accusing her of 'dissapearing' Inkopolitia's communist population.

Indeed, Artemia's leadership has seen the eradication of corruption and crime within Inkopolitia and massive economic and military growth that have turned the country into a power on the leagues of the Union of Democratic Republics, the United States and China, but has also authorized for massive displacement against the Human tribes present in Inkopolitia in order to 'urbanize the nation', and has also seen violent repression of communists across the country.
The State of Inkopolitia

Possessing major influence on Earth ever since the end of World War II, Inkopolitia is characterized by being the homeworld of the Inkling and Octoling races, and being an emerging superpower in an ever-polarizing world.

Well you can't have everything. Direct conflict against corruption and crime requires a firm hand with an iron fist... and most people with iron fists aren't really against using it on people they dislike.

It seems the Middle East is always a mess, but at least it doesn't appear to be quite as bad as IRL.

The German Empire is a rump state in what was formerly known as German East Africa, established when the German monarchy and military leadership fled the Fatherland toward the end of the Second Great War, facing invasion from both the Third French Empire and the Soviet Union. The Empire is still headed by a Kaiser, and claims to be the legitimate government of Germany, a claim heavily disputed by the Soviet-backed German People's Republic. Imperial German society is heavily stratified, having imported the Aparthied system used by the African Free State that ensures European dominance. The only reason that a country controlled by such a small ethnic minority still exists is due to support from the AFS and the American Union State, who see their anti-communism and claim to legitimacy to be of use in combatting the Soviets, and perhaps because the Americans enjoy having the German Empire, which they consider to have betrayed them at the end of the First Great War, being so completely dependent on American aid.

That's funny, actually. I can imagine the two Arab countryballs arguing back and forth "You're not Arabia, I'm Arabia" until they realize they can't keep arguing forever. Kinda reminds me of The Real Slim Shady.

AN: having barbarians invade and rule more civilized people is always a disgusting plot element, which makes it all the better to see the the bastards lose in the end.

The Korean War didn't end in the same time and way in Amenria's universe as in real life. It continued well until after WWIII, with North Korea being the few nations left in Asia that haven't joined Amenria. In 2043, Amenrian forces invaded from the northern and the western areas of the peninsula, with Ascion pushing from the east. In the climax, Kim Jong Un was taken and forced to have a no holds-barred duel against the Heavenly Empress of Amenria, Park Jin Ae to not only kill him, but also to humiliate him and expose all his hypocrisy (he was actually tough, but draws his power from his people's belief and life force, thus contradicting the communist principle of serving the proletariat). After she defeats him, she flies to Changbai mountain to drown the entire nation and Kim Jong Un and his followers with it.

During the fight between the two leaders, her personal battalion evacuated all the remaining civilians and animals to safety, so that no innocent is harmed by the planned flooding. The mission was called The Ark, in reference to the prophet Noah and a Korean girl group of the same name (The Ark, not Noah).

Capturing the kingdom of North Korea in tact would've been preferable. But it is beautiful that this Kin Jung Un died honorably in battle.

So far 15% of the populace are serfs/slaves. Marriages between Tohorinese serf women and foreign male slaves in recently occupied territories are encouraged, because the children of such unions are considered Tohorinese serfs tied to fiefdoms or State-owned farms. We plan to fix our own skewed sex-ratio and de-radicalize single women, expand our population and "tohrinize" the region and it's populace while also bolstering our agricultural output. It's a huge difference from our formal semi-nomadic lifestyle but the incentive for gains outweigh tradition. And yes, our tech level is somewhere around the 1600s, save for the mages (but they're expensive)...so forced labor is still a viable form of economic output.

I mean technically the Korean War never ended in our timeline too. The Korean Conflict didn't just end when the war turned to be a stalemate. That said, I'm surprised that KJU would even be in shape enough to engage in personal combat at any point after the Liberation of Korea ended.

AN: Why in the name of fuck would a semi-nomadic people even have a conception of "serfdom" though.

The second Danish-Swedish War (also known as the war of Danish Succession) was fought between the Kingdom of Sweden (controlling modern Finland and Norway) and the Kingdom of Denmark between February 17 and 7 November 1914, but it had its origin in a little earlier. On 1894, the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kingdom of Sweden-Norway went to war over a diplomatic insult. Aided by North Germans, Denmark humiliated Sweden and even annexed Skåneland, a territory it had historically controlled earlier. Between 1895 and 1911 (when Denmark finally returned Skåneland in the Peace Conference of Vienna), Sweden (which had been particularly not in support of war throughout the last century) went through a national remilitarization and an atmosphere of irridentist nationalism took over. And then, in 1913 (after Sweden finally pacified Finland after 2 years of rebellions), it just so happened that Frederick VIII of Denmark passed away while on a trip in North Germany. Suddenly, the Swedish king claimed the throne of Denmark for himself and triggered the Scandinavian crisis of 1912-14. For two years, the two counties (and their respective allies) fought a diplomatic battle, their great power allies keen on not starting another war so soon after the Great War had ended. Eventually, Sweden invaded Denmark after a week-long ultimatum was refused in early 1914, but this was only after North Germany both claimed neutrality and agreed via a secret treaty not to defend their Danish allies in the event of war.

Does that mean Scandinavia was unified under one crown? If so, excellent! I love it when Scandinavia is a power, though I hope the native Finns aren’t under any kind of repression or cultural replacement like what happened to the indigenous Balts. Not defending Denmark was the only thing I can commend NGR for.
Due to its sheer size, the Grand Union is very much a federal state wherein provinces can have different laws or ways of life so long these do not directly contradict federal law. For example, abortion is accessible in most provinces but not in others, specifically the Francophone provinces like Quebec, Louisiana, Illinois and others. In these provinces, abortion is illegal. In the more liberal, explicitly Anglo provinces like Oregon or Massachusetts, abortion is available on demand for all Kyrian citizens.

Of course we didn't defend them. If we had defended Denmark against Sweden, Britain would be obliged to join the war on Sweden's side (despite the fact the two nations fought on the opposing sides of the Great War, Sweden and Britain never declared war on each other, which means their earlier agreement in 1904 still held). All it took was an understanding with the British, and we could let the Scandinavians deal with their own problems. And sure, the Finns were under repression until "Kingdom of Sweden-Denmark" became "Empire of Scandinavia" a few decades later. I'm not quite sure what gave you the idea that the Balts were getting displaces though. /skip
