Well, it’s still a religion. To each their own, but religion is in no way an inherently positive thing. We just hope it won’t lead to belief-justified violence. On the other hand, it’s refreshing to see new interpretations of an old myth.

Snofjogurfolk are torn on the issue of whether or not the nation should host an international sporting event (more specifically, the Winter Olympics). Those in favour are excited about the idea, believe it will generate revenue and hope it will help Snofjogur win its first olympic medals. Those against are worried tourists will fail to respect the quiet, ordered way if life in Snofjogur and predict the damage will exceed the benefits; they tend to look negatively on tourism in general. The government has not made an official statement supporting one opinion or the other yet; it is currently preoccupied with other matters.

The Voors are next in line to be permitted visitation outside of extreme sanitation areas. It's actually much easier to decipher alien languages than to create immunity between allied species. Hostile species are near impossible given galactic politics. The palace of Veise is absurdly expensive. It owns an enormous 20-acre courtyard, within which are several small parks and leisure areas. The actual palace itself is a bright, radiant white color inside and out, giving it some sort of ice or crystal palace aesthetic. Despite the government's amorality towards gender roles (You're XX, XY, or "O" for those not fitting the two chromosome schema), it still differs greatly from what speculative people would think:

a) Very few people make up their own gender. Male, Female, Fluid, Non-Binary are the four 'gender identities' they give to each other.

b) "Gender identities" are actually very rigid. Feminine men would often use feminine pronouns, for example. If you fit a certain 'aesthetic' then society will assume your gender but, surprisingly, they'll default to they/them until said feminine man tells them they prefer he/she pronouns.

c) There's no regulation on 'marriage', people just sign on the consensus that someone is married to them and that's it. They can throw a marriage party or not, society doesn't care. This means you can have multiple people marked as married to you provided they also check you as a married partner.

d) Despite ignoring polygamy, most Terran couples are monogamous. 76% of all married Terrans are Monogamous

e) "Gay" or "Straight" isn't a noun, people just go for what they find attractive and nonchalantly deal with whatever's between their pants, regardless if it's cis or trans. There are a few people who do have a preference for one genitalia over the over but it's usually not that big of a deal overall. This is because "sex" doesn't determine gender. A straight man may find a pre-op trans woman attractive, for example

Human sexuality wasn't a topic of discussion until the Humanity Front showed up and shocked the entire country by reintroducing transphobia: That XX and XY are their assigned gender and must adhere to 'natural order'; this terrorist group proceeded to target trans citizens and Taloans as 'tainted', bringing back a sociological topic people forgot even existed. This point, called the Point of Divergence, is believed to be around 28,000 years ago. After that, all members of the Cephalo genus fell, one by one, except the Inklings.

Regardless, Atramento Cephalopodae counts with two sub-species, apart of the Inklings:

Magi Cephalopodae: Magi Cephalopodaes, commonly referred to as Magies (Not despectively though), are arguably the strongest intelligent species on Aerth, but also the least populous, with numbers estimating from 29,000 to 51,000.

Magi Cephalopodaes, by default have 5x the strength and speed of an Inkling (Who are by default twice as strong and fast as humans).
However, the arguably most notable characteristic of this sub-species is the fact that they're able to transform between humanoid and squid forms, while also being able to swim in water.
For a normal Inkling, being submerged in water is almost fatal and requires Forced Revival Via Plasmasquid (FRVP).

Aquae Humano Lolligo: Aquae Humano Lolligo, commonly referred to as Nanika, are the exact opposite of a common Inkling, while being similar enough to maintain it's status as an Inkling sub-species.

Their protein-rich ink-skin is enough to make them able to submerge in water without any major repercussions. However, this comes at a great cost: Nanikas are not able to transition between Humanoid and Squid forms, something normal within the Atramento Cephalopodae and Magi Cephalopodae.

The Nanikas were made to be able to resist in water due to their habitation in northern Peru and southern Colombia, and their numbers are estimated to be between 300,000 and 500,000. Most of the Nanikas currently habitate the Indigenous Protection Zone (IPZ).
