During the Vietnam war, NT joined the allied forces side in 1961. The PRC was the only world power supporting communist forces in Indochina. The war escalated very quickly, in both the north and south of vietnam. Just 2 years after NT entering the war in 1963, a nuclear bomb was dropped by NT onto Hanoi. NT stated in response that China had troops stationed in Hanoi as enemy forces to allied powers, and that the war is a proxy war, therefore, by logic, it was South Vietnam dropping a nuclear bomb on Hanoi, North Vietnam. Due to influence from over the NT border and from Taiwan/ROC, political instability led the PRC to retract the ultimatum and withdraw troops from the Vietnam war.

The Vietnam war ended in 1968, with Vietnam remaining split into north and south. Laos became a socialist state with a constitutional monarchy. In SC, youth organisations have always been a hot topic. So, in 1990s, a brand new group was created in SC - Republican Vanguards. Similar to Mao's Red Guards, they usually answer only to the leaders/The Party, which means, that their activities can get out of hand easily. In fact, not only other students fear them, but even teachers as well.

In all SC's states combined, their membership is estimated to be in about a couple million. They are active in all education level schools (Except perhaps for preschool, or kindergarten). They usually are ideologically devoted, and their motto states, that they fight fight against SC's "enemies" - "Monarchism, Liberalism, and Capitalism". Although, some have joined with more opportunistic goals, as the position can be quite a big prestige in SC.

Those groups are especially active in universities, but they can usually be deployed at any situation, when leaders deem it as necessary. They harass not only students, but teachers as well, in case if their ideas are deemed as "counter-revolutionary". In fact, once a couple of them stabbed some students with bayonets in SC's Britain for expressing "pro-monarchist opinions". However, they weren't arrested by SC's police for that, rather the opposite - some considered giving a badge for "fighting against "counter-revolutionary" elements"

However, not always their skills, in university itself are very good, so those, who lack the college education, usually enlist in Revolutionary Vanguard at their adult life period, which is involved in breaking apart protests, punishing criminals in public, but also in less public means, like raiding the houses of suspects in night, or distributing propaganda posters, etc. Those, who aren't lucky, have to work in countryside on the fields, or factory jobs.

Even though the Arts & STEM are seen as equal: Art (Music, Food, Literature, etc) is seen as the shield that protects humanity from being forgotten with STEM (includes medicine) being the sword that fights off extinction. While many Artists see the horrors done in the 21st and 22nd century (destroying entire cultures that didn't 'develop' into a new, but still familiar, academic facts-and-research centric Eastern culture being one) to be ''justified" as it did preserve Earth, and in the long-term, human survival (while believing it's still horrible nonetheless), they don't think humanity is in such a need of a "helicopter" parenting government centuries after Liberalism, Communism, and Anarchism (and to an extent, every other Fascist branch but the Technocracy's) was essentially wiped out.

They instead argued for a government that trusts their people to do good, believe that they won't try to destroy Earth again with pseudoscience about how veganism and crystals will magically cure all illnesses. Artists don't believe humans will "devolve" if left alone, they reject the notion that Humanity (unlike Taloans) require a "strict guiding hand" to guide our species. They do believe, however, that should a child be at risk of harm, the parent can intervene, but not helicopter over them. Speaking in analogy.

In a way, STEM is very Confucian in how they see humanity, whereas the Arts lean more Taoist. STEM still believe, centuries later, humans are at risk of extinction and want to protect us from doing anything that'll bring another extinction event. The Arts believe the government should put more trust in humanity, but intervention if it did happen is justified. The STEM leaders usually respond with a "But why wait when they do it when we can preemptively prevent it now?". So far, the Administrator is seen as balancing the two factions of government, her only controversy is including humanities into the discussion as they're often "those other guys" in politics (but revered like every other subjects when it comes to Academia). This is because the Technocracy see the Humanities as "archivers" not really "innovators" and therefore not "Leader material".

One thing for sure, is that The Garden also has an infinite amount of energy, which, if Holly uses it, can be used to dominate the entire multiverses multiple times over. However, she simply uses this energy for curiosity purposes. The interesting fact is that instead of going primitive and while not allowing outside technology into her place, she sort of recreates her own gadgets and "techno-magic" items from the energy, as well as by reading the millions of books she has gathered from outside worlds.

These include:

- A perpetual motion machine with 300% efficiency, being able to produce more energy than inputted. This obviously violates the law of thermodynamics. Holly once brought this little machine outside of her universe and upon touching the very boundary between her universe and the outside world, the machine immediately disintegrates.

- A jet engine that she constructed with hard lights. It functions just like a typical commercial airline's jet engine, except with one quirk: Simply attaching the engine without running it makes an object fly, while the operating engine would decrease the altitude of the object and pin it to the ground. Anti-airplane? Works outside of The Garden.

- A rotary dialing phone with base-20 numerals. You have to convert a base-10 phone number (eg. 555-1234) into base-20 just to dial it. It works outside of The Garden.

- "Trapped perfume in a box." Forming atoms and molecules from energy (Energy-Mass conversion), Holly managed to make a gas-based perfume that would stay in one spot, even outside of The Garden. It has absolutely no increase in entropy and will not diffuse.

- Modified her own universe's gravity from 9.81 m/s² to -5000 m/s², to 1 x 10²⁰ m/s². With everything being solid but ultimately made out of light, nothing was damaged. Fortunately, no human nor animals from the outside world were around, so they did not end up splattering onto the ground.

- A pseudo nuclear energy bomb that Holly created out of curiosity.
