"The chaos that can be spread by hate is something I thought only the gullible were prone to, but now it seems even members of parliament result to spreading the hate and fear of others for their own twisted benefit.
I wholeheartedly denounce the twisted statements of the senator and ask him to extend his leave of this house for more than just the duration of this debate, maybe to recollect his thoughts and read through the rules of this parliamentary body."

Viel stood up slowly, making sure the chamber was quiet as he began.

"Mr. President, Fernão was built by the blood, sweat and tears of millions of vibrant, multiracial men and women, many of whom happened to be of the Islamic faith. I personally have visited a mosque, and I found the people there to be of true dignity and an irrevocable piece of this country's history, government and continued wellbeing."

"But, Mr. President, there is a certain Senator whom was not so inclined as to believe so. He stood in this revered halls, before all of us public servants, and uttered some of the worst islamophobic and hateful statements I've heard uttered in a legislative assembly. We may have our vast differences, Mr. President, but you were correct in both warning the Senator, and, when he repeated his most outrageous offence, removing him from the chamber."

"The Senator did not just insult the people of this country: he insulted millions outside of it, and even lawmakers within these very walls. Senators like the Honourable Ritesh Bell, the Honourable Abdullah Lafiz and the Honourable Farida Abdullah are all followers of the Islamic faith, making the Senator's remarks a clear and direct attack on those Senators and many others in this house."

"Mr. President, the Senator has stained the reputation of the Senate by his words of divisive malice, and I plead my honourable colleagues on the other side of the aisle to stand together and reject this Senator's remarks, and to show not just Fernão, but the world that we will not stand for this kind of behaviour."

"With that, Mr. President, under Rule XVII, Clause C of the Standing Rules of the Senate, I hereby move to invoke censure against Senator George Durand, for his attacks against Islam and the Muslim members of this house."

"Hear, hear! Mr. President, Senator Viel is absolutely right, and I thank him for his recognition of the fact that we cannot legitimize or allow such hateful behavior, especially in this esteemed body. Other Muslim senators and I were highly offended by Senator Durand's remarks. Mr. President, I second Senator Vieel's motion." Bell sat down.

"Mr. President, the Senator at hand has said words that will live on in infamy in this chamber. It is both saddening and disappointing to hear that not only by my colleague, but my own party mate. Mr. President I am seconding this motion so we can send a clear message to all senators that we can't tolerate such behavior."
