I imagine that it might just make a good base for a commendation
Can I get some history snippets about the conflict from the seniors

I don't think the recruitment program would be commendable imho, but the rest of that's pretty solid. If delegate supports and this is under a different author, I would hypothetically support such a proposal.
Though that is not the case, so I am firmly against.

The entire item was "TWP's hegemony, growth and the success of its recruitment program (~250 endos to ~350 endos in a year's time)" not just running a recruitment program. Also, regions are either C/Cable or not C/Cable. It doesn't make sense to say individual accomplishments are C/Cable or not C/Cable. The accomplishments contribute toward whether the region is C/Cable, none of them individually are

Still, it may better to c/c individual members of TWP rather than the whole region

Perhaps don't try writing resolutions until you've been here for more than three months, but rather a year?Vrindi wrote:Okay the no blowtorches here I'll stick to the GA for now

This is atrocious advice, and massively offputting to people trying to get involved in the game. There's sense in cautioning people to take their time, do their research, and not to rush proposal authoring, but that's a long way off telling someone they're going to have to spend a year of their life learning the game before they can properly participate.

I'm almost certain that I could count all the nations that aren't alts that passed resolutions while being under 1y old on one hand. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, while it's not like it's impossible, it's certainly one of the most unwise things you can do as a newbie.

by Dengist China » Tue Jun 09, 2026 4:35 am
Yes, I agree. I'm talking about the vast majority of cases, though - most new nations that try to input on the SC don't seem to give a flying fuck about what they're doing so long as they can pass a resolution. The Orwell Society wrote:"Unwise" isn't even close to the right word. If a new nation has the sufficient work ethic and willingness to listen to critique/feedback, then it's not in the slightest "unwise" for them to attempt to draft a WA resolution. While the SC is certainly gameplay-heavy and takes some prior knowledge to get a footing in, one can get a good jist of just about any topic quite easily and put together a draft just as good as a more experience player as long as they do the proper research and listen to feedback. Age doesn't matter, sense and willingness to learn does.
That would be lovely, but trying to attempt an SC resolution solo for no given reason is not at all a good idea. And that is what most of these newbies do. Not all, but it's definitely a massive majority.Sedgistan wrote:That sounds like a bad thing though, and rather than entrenching the inaccessibility of the SC, more experienced players could be helping others get started in it.

You, however, my fellow RO, have been playing NationStates for more than three years, and have since acquired a very good knowledge of Gameplay. So I don't think using yourself as a counter to this argument is wise, because you're too oldAdriatic Democratic Empire wrote:Ehh not entirely true.
