A true statesman, the nation of Alsted led the region of Europe to the halls of power and success though his thoughtful leadership. As such, his work and loyalty to Europe should be recognized. Below is a draft that I wrote (with some assistance from The Ice States), which is the language for a commendation resolution for Alsted. I recognize that Alsted’s reign as delegate was many years ago (which has limited the amount of material I could refer to for this resolution). If you were around in NS when Alsted was delegate and have any information that might be worthy of adding to this resolution, then please give a shout! Overall, though, I am open to feedback and comments.

Best,
Waffles

The Security Council,

Awed by the influence of the nation of Alsted, acquired within these hallowed halls through years of service, which is rivaled by no other nation in the multiverse,

Applauding Alsted's efforts as one of the longest-serving WA Delegates of Europe, a position in which they:
  1. Engaged in recruiting practices for Europe, most of the time acting as the sole regional recruiter, by sending thousands of personalized telegrams which in turn helped the regional population increase to previously unthinkable heights (from 313 nations to a high point of 810 nations), at one point making Europe the largest player-created region,
  2. Increased the regional WA population by sending personal telegrams of encouragement to nations within Europe to join this organization leading the region, and the European delegate itself, to hold an influential role within WA affecting voting for resolutions;

Recognizing Alsted's role in utilizing their WA voting power to significantly sway public support throughout Europe and the multiverse (so much so the phrase "As goes Alsted, so goes the World Assembly" was coined) by consistently being one of the first members to register a vote;

Additionally recognizing Alsted’s work on emphasizing the no endorsement cap policy of Europe, encouraging all nations to endorse each other and stating that any good-willed nation can become a delegate at any time, creating a welcoming environment for all WA members by allowing everyone to accrue influence; and

Additionally finding that Alsted set the foundations for the current day stability of Europe, as a gathering of highly endorsed, highly influenced nations prevents raiders from dealing any lasting damage to the region;

Herby Commends Alsted.

"Player-created region" is an illegal term. "Encouraging" is misspelled as "encoraging".

Other than that, this draft is a tad sparse. Manual recruiting, personalized welcome telegrams, votestacking, and bolstering regional security are all fairly standard practice for major delegates.

Once again, one of the reasons why I brought this to the forum. I believe Alsted is a worthy nominee but I’d like to acquire some more details from veteran nations.

I don't believe the body of work is there.

I'd suggest you telegram them directly. We can't expect the very old, very knowledgeable players to stumble upon this thread. Have you TGed Alsted? Myrth? Any other old Europe natives?

We're looking for evidence of significant contributions from Alsted to the world-sphere (but possibly also domestically), including through leading a defense, negotiating a treaty, or establishing a lasting tradition.

As it stands, Alsted doesn't look very much different from your average long-lasting UCRite.

Too little here to make a convincing case. If it can get expanded, then there may be a case.

Edit: Some of this is filler too.

Generally going to comment what others have said as I agree. This draft reads quite sparsely. It needs to make more of a case for the unique impact the player had which goes above and beyond what was typically expected of a player in that role at that time.

Whether that’s insufficient and excessively fluffy argument on the author’s part or lack of Commendable achievements on the part of the nominee, I can’t say as I’m not familiar with either.

Not really seeing anything Commend worthy in this draft I’m afraid. The actions as Delegate are no more than I would expect from someone wishing to grow a UCR. Everything else looks like filler to me.

Your use of “personalised” and “personal” are definitely illegal under R2(a). Not sure about the link to the nominee’s influence page.

Edit: that link falls foul of R4(a).

I see you have cancelled it.

Alsted could be commendable, but it might be hard to research.

As well Alsted, who I was surprised to hear back from so promptly, said he did not wish to seek a commendation. I will respect his wishes.

In the future, I would advise you get permission before posting a draft on the forums.
