[Passed] Condemn Elysium Station II

Hello, all. The idea of this draft came up a bit ago, as Elysium Station II/Green has long been a leader in raiding, and has a long history of invading and griefing throughout the years. Any thoughts, feedback, suggestions, or other commentary would be greatly appreciated.

The Security Council,

Recognising Elysium Station II, as well as its predecessors and satellite states, as a malevolent force that has served under the banners of several prolific raider organisations, causing instability and strife in numerous regions throughout their long history;

Observing that Elysium Station II's ancestral homeland, Elysium Station, came to join the condemned invader region Lone Wolves United in 2012, beginning their path to infamy;

Disturbed that the leadership of Elysium Station II, more commonly referred to as Green, steadily rose through the ranks of the invader organisations they became a part of, often playing a leading or pivotal role in the invasions and occupations carried out by the organisations they served;

Dismayed that Green, having risen to the rank of Khalif of Lone Wolves United, came to lead or play an important role in the invasions and occupations of Nova Historiae, City Ankh Morpork, Socialist Union of Authoritarian States and Korovia. In all of these operations, Green's ruthless efficiency with the border control powers granted to them played a decisive role in preventing defender forces from stabilising the regions and bringing them back under native control;

Shocked at the revelation that Green was furthermore appointed Il-Khan of Lone Wolves United in September 2016, effectively granting them co-governance of the region's day-to-day affairs; during their tenure as Il-Khan, invasions led by Lone Wolves United became more destructive, turning the armaments previously used to combat defender forces against regions' native occupants;

Horrified at the fates of Mahtomedi and No Region, two regions which were destroyed by invading forces overseen in part by Green. Green took an active role in the destructions as regional officer, weaponising their border control powers against defender forces and native nations alike; No Region was turned into a trophy despite attempts to save it, while Mahtomedi was barely spared a similar fate;

Understanding that, through its satellite nation Xesperias, Green came to join HYDRA Command during that region's peak in 2016. During its time in HYDRA Command, Xesperias would come to rise to the rank of General, assisting in several notable occupations and invasions as regional officer, including during HYDRA Command's destruction of The Place That Has No Big Banks, which was liberated by the Security Council in a last effort to prevent its ultimate destruction, which proved futile;

Appalled that, not content to sow chaos and destruction through their role in invading and destroying regions, Green would take part in two separate efforts to destabilise the Feeder and Sinker regions in the pursuit of their own malicious interests:
  • In 2017, Green came to Lazarus during a time of turmoil in that region. Following the outbreak of hostilities between the opposing sides, Green aided in the overthrow of the government at the time, monitoring the activity of the regional guardians, as well as timing the ejections necessary to gain control over the region, which would lead to the establishment of the Khanate of Lazarus, an openly raider-aligned regime.
  • Two years later, during the attempted overthrow of the East Pacific’s rightful government by Fedele and their associates, Green would play a similar role to assist the attempted coup, providing support for the attempted seizure of power behind the scenes by advising the rogue regional officers on the timing of their ejections. This effort was thankfully thwarted soon after by the rightful government and its allies;

Aghast that, following its destructive tenure as Il-Khan, Green was finally made Khan of Lone Wolves United in 2018, gaining ultimate authority in the region. During its tenure as Khan, Green oversaw the training and integration of new raiders, and awoke the invader region from a state of dormancy that it appeared to be reaching;

Alarmed that Green reappeared in 2022, playing a substantial role in the invasion and occupation of A Liberal Haven through their role in recruiting support and their efforts as a regional officer to repel liberations. Once more, Green's swift and effective use of their border control powers enabled the invading forces to maintain their grip on the region, culminating in the ejection of one of A Liberal Haven's oldest native inhabitants from their beloved region. The raid, in large part due to the efforts of Green, would peak at a previously unprecedented 208 endorsements, and would go on to serve as a rallying cry to motivate invader forces all across the multiverse;

Believing that the multitude of heinous actions undertaken by Elysium Station II and its associated nations warrant condemnation,

Hereby condemns Elysium Station II.

On a first glance, full personal support. The only real comments I have right now are:

1. I’m guessing Elysium Station II is Tom? I would make it clear exactly who this person is do they’re known by some other name.

2. In the dismayed clause, you can use a period instead of the semi-colon. I’d prefer it that way.

They're the player known as Green

Not opposed to the resolution.

Ah, well in any case, my point about at least mentioning the name most people know them as still stands.

Consider referring to Elysium Station II as simply "Elysium Station" here and continue doing so throughout the proposal, as to not cause dissonance in the later parts of this draft. I don't know about anyone else, but the repeated "Elysium Station II"s is making this whole thing read very weird.

A Bloodred Moon wrote:Disturbed that the leadership of Elysium Station II steadily rose through the ranks of the invader organisations they became a part of, often playing a leading or pivotal role in the invasions and occupations carried out by the organisations they served;

Might want to merge this with your introductory clause or just remove it altogether, I think it's a bit redundant.

Operation details like the number of raiders involved or the length of each occupation would be much appreciated here.

A Bloodred Moon wrote:turning the armaments previously used to combat defender forces against regions' native occupants;

A bit confused here, could you clarify?

Edit: Oh, I get it. It's referring to the usage of border control powers to grief regions.

In that case, consider using similar langauge throughout the draft, as I think this might be something that would confuse the average reader, especially when you've already mentioned "border control powers" in other clauses.

Once again, more details would be very cool.

Might want to turn this into a bulleted list, as to make this read smoother and not look kind of clunky.

Some of the names of the raiders they trained would be cool here, unless you already considered it and decided to not do that because that includes you ;)

Why does this deserve its own separate clause? If you're insistent on keeping this, you want to make the case why ALH mattered in the grander scheme of things, instead of making it seem like a random detached occupation.

Overall, pretty good.

Would it perhaps be easier to refer to them as Green, also addressing Hulldom’s point?

A Bloodred Moon wrote:turning the armaments previously used to combat defender forces against regions' native occupants;

Before Green’s tenure, under Anera and Abenthy’s leadership, LWU’s raids rarely led to the ejections of natives, which changed when Green and Cain took over - there was a focus on either refounding or at least damaging the regions held that wasn’t present before. The line in the quote is mostly a way of describing that focus on ejecting natives.

Once again, more details would be very cool.

I’ll see what can be done - LWU didn’t really maintain many public records of their raids from my understanding, which makes exact numbers slightly more dificult to determine. Nonetheless, I should be able to dig up more details.

Some of the names of the raiders they trained would be cool here, unless you already considered it and decided to not do that because that includes you ;)

It was mostly in reference to training updaters, and I’m not sure the names would be recognised outside of LWU.

Why does this deserve its own separate clause? If you're insistent on keeping this, you want to make the case why ALH mattered in the grander scheme of things, instead of making it seem like a random detached occupation.

A fair point, I’ll think on how to expand it (or, failing that, perhaps merge it).

Noted, I’m considering replacing most mentions of Elysium Station II in the draft with Green, or otherwise with Elysium Station, as Moon suggested - either way, I’ll include something along the lines of “better known as Green” to clarify.

2. In the dismayed clause, you can use a period instead of the semi-colon. I’d prefer it that way.

Alright, will do.

That works with me.

If you think including names wouldn't be that impressive, you could include a rough number there to emphasize the point you're trying to sell there. As it stands, that clause reads a bit more mundane than the rest of the draft, since I don't think simply training raiders to raid is a Condemnable thing all on its own, unless you do it for a lot of people, a lengthy period of time or in ingenious ways that aren't common in R/D.

Updated the draft a bit with the suggestions of Hulldom and Moon - replaced most mentions of Elysium Station II with Green, split the Appalled clause in two parts, one for TEP and one for Lazarus, and expanded a bit on why ALH was notable. It did raise the character count, so we'll have to cut down a bit when I've found more detail on Mahtomedi and No Region. Please let me know if it reads as an improvement.

I'm hoping to get some more feedback on the present draft. As it stands, the character count is 3 removed from the limit, but some room can probably be made if it is necessary to elaborate further on some points.

No specific concern with the text of the proposal, but I’m not convinced of the merit here. What exactly is Green being condemned for? Presiding over two of the greatest declines in activity LWU has seen and acting as RO on a few notable raids?

I believe they preceded you and therefore delivered what was described as “virtual inactivity” in your own condemnation? Also believe they followed Xor’s leadership and rewound the clock on progress there too?

Their role in the GCR clause seems minor at best, but more likely irrelevant. It could read “Lazarus and TEP coups, Green was there”.

With the above in mind, are there any better specifics you can draw on when they have had a pivotal role, raids they actually led/organized. Mentioning specific raiders they have mentored in this thread if not the text would help the SC determine if they did anything notable in that respect, as has been requested previously.

Green and Dream Killers actually did pretty fine after I left. Technically Lamb Stone's Khan era was the one that completely reset all progress because he was too busy mucking about in Lazarus to pay attention to LWU.

Edit: As a bonus, they were helping run things very heavily before I left, so I would definitely not say they were presiders over the decline.

Could I ask why certain mentioned regions aren’t linked? The only invaded region that is is A Liberal Haven and that stood out to me, it seems like typically all nations and regions are linked on their first mention.
