[DRAFT] Repeal "Liberate the Mystical Council"

Postby Attack Helicopter » Mon May 16, 2022 2:00 pm

Repeal "Liberate the Mystical Council"

The World Assembly,

Noting that The Mystical Council was invaded by forces of The Brotherhood of Malice and others on the 7th of February, 2022,

Reporting, unfortunantly, that on the 25th of February in the same year, the region fell to the hands of the merciless invaders,

Realizing that the Security Council's liberation of the region placed into effect can now be deemed useless,

Hereby repeals "Liberate the Mystical Council".

Nope, this will never get repealed. No native support for this, I learned that the hard way.

Don't you get it? Unless the Brotherhood agrees to give the region back to the natives, the region will never leave the raiders' hands. We should just call it a day and head back home.

How did you get the crazy assumption that I'm trying to get a shiny, new badge, when I'm actually trying to get rid of useless legislation?

1. Yes, we can call it a day, please do, without repealing it. The natives don't want it. Nobody wants it, except you.
2. Which in effect, creates more useless legislation and wastes this council's time.

This will not pass without support from the original pre-refound native community, who have last indicated they wanted this liberation to stay in place. So what do you, who has no connection to the region's invasion, defence, or original native inhabitants (whom you did not even consult), hope to gain here beyond just padding your resume? The fact is that leaving the liberation in place does nothing and repealing it does nothing. You have brought no case to defy the native interest.

Those of us who have worked in the World Assembly for years have some keen insight about how that vote would turn out.

It's not a Security Council rule that natives of a region have the authority declare certain proposals on their region legal or illegal.

You are technically correct. However, it is a longstanding SC precedent that Liberations of regions are not imposed nor repealed without the consent of the native community, and in this case the natives have stated that they do not want the resolution repealed. You are, of course, welcome to try and pass this despite precedent, but I for one do not think that you are likely to succeed.

Jeez, why can't you just listen to experienced authors when they tell you that your draft's going to be stomped into the ground? Why do you have to put up such a fight over this tiny little thing?

If it's such a big deal, by all means, submit it. Submit it right now. Campaign for it and waste your one dollar. When you watch it fail, come back here and do something constructive.

Yeesh.

No, I don't. But I have been playing this game long enough and have been involved in the SC long enough that I have a general feeling on how regions and nations would vote on certain proposals. Yours here would be a resounding against vote to rival the largest against votes in SC history.

I'm not Mr. Perfect. Stop daydreaming.

1. So you think Wayne hasn't gotten used to the SC any more than you have?
2. No, but it can and will change the outcome of any proposal that is submitted without that native support, which after all is how this stuff gets passed, isn't it?
3a. Oh, I'm sure of it.
3b. There's something called a purpose exaggeration, of course, you might not have considered that given you're hasty and poor responses + draft.
3c. Yeah, I agree. Good for them!
4. See my response 3b. It doesn't make sense when you take stuff like this literally, it just shows how little thought you actually put into anything. Also, no, we don't have a time machine, but experienced players have gotten a pretty good sense of how to make one...
5. Yeah, I saw it, and it doesn't make any sense.
6. Wayne's not, you are if you believe you can pass this.

I implied no such thing at all. People that try to half ass their way through either get discouraged and give up when they can't accomplish anything, or they decide to take the high road and learn. Given the fact the author decided that tripling down, instead of listening gives me fairly accurate foresight into their future. I would be quite happy to be proven wrong on this though....

The only thing I care about is that this proposal has a chance of passing. Nothing else, just that.

If it's such a big deal, by all means, submit it. Submit it right now. Campaign for it and waste your one dollar. When you watch it fail, come back here and do something constructive.

Yeesh.

I'm determined to get this proposal passed.

Also, I don't want to leave my region, as it could become a target for raiders.

Finally, I have an almost clean record. I did get some warnings for forum things here and there, though I think all of them expired by now. It's unlikely that I'm going to get DOSed.

1. I'm playing this game for fun, not for a trophy to put on my shelf.
2. Supposing that my average typing speed would be 30 words per minute, you imply that I wrote 70 words in 5 seconds, when I can only write 2.5 words in 5 seconds. I reccomend you learn math.
3. Good for them.

You're saying you have a TARDIS or any other time traveling machine.

See my above response.

No, I don't. But I have been playing this game long enough and have been involved in the SC long enough that I have a general feeling on how regions and nations would vote on certain proposals. Yours here would be a resounding against vote to rival the largest against votes in SC history.

Thank you for letting me know.

I'm still not abandoning this draft.
