honestly it's funny as fuck this way. an incredibly short proposal with a semi-obvious typo in it (although very well-written overall! 'caustic' is excellent word choice) getting sent to quorum within about 2 hours and 15 minutes because the people it's targeting really aren't great is just Fantastic. this will absolutely be up there as one of the most voted-for resolutions in history, and the amount of updaters attending the raid afterwards is probably going to be nuts. how quickly the entire ns community shows up when there's an opportunity to kick an ooc-shitty region around is hilarious and honestly a little heartwarming. there's gonna be an nstoday article on this one 4 sure

This is not true. Layem was actively antagonistic to regions (particularly The League) even when such regions completely ignored them. As has been repeated ad nauseam, The League did not take part in our delegate bumping of Layem a couple of months ago, yet Layem attempted to infiltrate The League in retaliation anyway. Regions like this will exist and will be annoying whether we respond to them or not, and pretending like engaging with them in the SC fans the flames is just not true. In my opinion it demonstrates a lack of experience/understanding of how those regions work, and it dismisses the very valid argument that liberating problematic regions after they go founderless is justice and comeuppance for the attempts to irritate people over months or years.

What I do think you're sort of right on, though, is that a lot of GPers cannot swallow their pride to avoid bumping those regions' threads. Even after being asked to stop engaging repeatedly in threads seemingly designed to get a rise out of you, some individuals relentlessly continued replying. Bumping those threads forced individuals - Quebec/TL and LGBTQ+ community members in particular - to experience relentless exposure to what was often hateful and bigoted shit, all for the sake of a Gameplayer's bruised ego.

I hope GP learns its lesson for the next time a region like Layem walks through the revolving door.

sure, we should all be ignoring regions like layem when they pull tiny, bait-y stunts in hopes of pissing people off, i agree with that. but now that we all have the opportunity to completely raid it? we absolutely should be doing that, and there's no point in going about it in complete silence, because they'd be just as mad at us all either way. it's good to show our intolerance for bigoted regions! this isn't taking bait, it's materially doing something. fascists and ooc-shitty users would have a lot easier time on this site if military organizations against them Weren't a policy. doing nothing won't make them go away, it will give them more opportunities.
