[Abandoned] Repeal: Liberate The Mystical Council

Postby Fachumonn » Mon Feb 28, 2022 6:17 pm

The Security Council,

NOTICING that SC#387, "Liberate The Mystical Council" has been recently passed by this esteemed council, but

RECOGNIZING that the region in question, The Mystical Council was recently destroyed following a lengthy invasion by an invader coalition led by Diviciacus (Venico),

ACKNOWLEDGING that there is an active founder in the region operated by invaders, The Mystical Watcher, making it nearly impossible to get back,

BELIEVING this renders SC#387 useless and a resolution no longer needed by the Security Council,

HEREBY repeals SC#387, "Liberate The Mystical Council".

Yes, I know this technically hasn't passed, but it will in like half a day so who cares.
Anybody who doesn't agree with this can voice their opinion but I think as long as there's not too much of a pushback I will submit this soonish,
Thanks, -Fachumonn
The Security Council,

NOTICING that the SCR#387, "Liberate The Mystical Council" has been recently passed by this esteemed council,

HOWEVER, noting that the region in question, The Mystical Council, was recently destroyed and was refounded by the raiding organization The Brotherhood of Malice,

ACKNOWLEDGING that there is an active founder in the region, The Mystical Watcher, making it nearly impossible to get back, and a waste of time if anybody tries,

BELIEVING this renders SCR#387 useless and a resolution no longer needed by the Security Council, so;

HEREBY repeals SCR#387, "Liberate The Mystical Council".

So going for that easy badge hmm? I really don't have anything to add since what you have is all factual and whatnot.

Support in principle.
Fachumonn wrote:Security Council Resolution #387 "Liberate the Mystical Council" shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

This is automatically appended to all repeals, so you don't need to put it in the proposal text. Other than that, some rewrites (used strikethrough for what you should remove, what to add is in blue):

I'm aware I suggested this change, but it lasted more than a week, so "lengthy" would work better. Also why do you have a space between the ) and the comma ending this clause?

Personally opposed to this unless one of the former natives of TMC are alright with letting the region go.

Don't they have a new region? I think it's fine. It's not like there getting it back for 20 years. and by then, they can just write a new proposal.

Which region are the former natives are at? I do agree with Hulldom, seek out permission from one of them.

The Mystical Alliance. And it's doing quite well, with a delegate and 13 decently active nations.

Without a post from one of those natives saying they want to get rid of the Liberation, TNP will oppose this.

Your own draft shows all the haste and poor quality inherent in a blatant badge hunt. At least Apato has given you a competent rewrite.

Will vote against unless, as others have said, former residents of TMC are okay with letting the region go. That means you contacting them and persuading them to post in this thread to say that they're happy for this to happen. Nobody will just take your word for it.

That's good! It's pretty unlikely to get very wide support unless natives voice support for it, which might be tricky given Alistia's post here. The only other argument for this proposal if there isn't native backing is that the SC has an imperative to strip trophy liberations regardless of feelings of dislocated natives, which could also be a hard sell.

The Mystical council's former native community has made if clear that we want the liberation to stay as a reminder of our regions history, even if the region itself is occupied by raiders. This resolution will find no support from the Mystical Alliance. (TMC's successor region.)

That’s clear enough - therefore opposed to the repeal because of your lack of support for it.

Looks like this will be joining the other drafts by the author - with [Abandoned] in the title.
