[MOOT - SEE SC#462] Commend Northrop-Grumman

Today marks one year since Makdon started drafting his Commend Northrop-Grumman. I now present my own version with little in the way of Further Ado :P

Sources: N-G is famous for his maintaining a list of national capitals, one of national leaders, as well as the Dark Themes for Century and Rift (and I suspect that the RECOGNISING clause just about dips under Rule 3a's bar).
He was also a very well-known roleplayer back in the day, as I gather: my proposal alludes to One Last Step Remains... (with Xanthal), Changes Abound (Roania, Scolopendra, DLN...) and Mysteries Revealed (Anagonia) in that order. For more on the theme of diplomacy, perhaps see It's All An Act (Roania; DFD, who was condemned eleven years ago, stars in a gatecrashing role); for more of N-G's roleplays generally, you might want to have a read for yourself.

Commend Northrop-Grumman
A resolution to recognise outstanding contribution by a nation or region.
Category: Commendation
Nominee: Northrop-Grumman
Proposed by: Tinhampton

THE SECURITY COUNCIL:

THANKFUL that [nation=Northrop-Grumman] (N-G) has, for the past eighth of a century, maintained the world's most comprehensive and easily accessible Lists of National Capitals and Leaders;

IMPRESSED, furthermore, at the tireless work of N-G's many historians, who have preserved in great detail for current and future generations some of their homeland's most inspiring tales: working with their counterparts in nations such as Roania, Xanthal, and Anagonia to document subjects as diverse as war reparations, existential financial crises, failed assassination plots and more than a hint of diplomacy;

RECOGNISING that, although N-G's upkeep of such thematic lists and relentless creativity should not overshadow their other great achievements, this body has no choice but to black out the nature and significance of those feats; but

REMAINING fully convinced that, for their dedication to promoting interaction and transparency between governments, N-G is highly deserving of Commendation regardless:

HEREBY COMMENDS [nation=Northrop-Grumman].

Old drafts, if any, will go in this space.

Just, so much more detail as to these roleplays, what happened in them and why they were significant. That's basically all of my feedback here lol.

RECOGNISING that, although N-G's upkeep of such thematic lists and relentless creativity should not overshadow their other great achievements, this body has no choice but to black out the nature and significance of those feats; but

This signature stands with Palestine.

End the continued practice of bombing houses, museums, refugee camps, ambulances, and churches.

From reading the commend alone, the nominee doesn't seem commendable. I second what Saurus said, there needs to be more detail surrounding the mentioned roleplays.

Nominee probably is commendable, but this resolution strikes me as incredibly low-effort.

The draft is 2 short
HE/HIM. Use those pronouns! Do NOT assume my gender!

  • An American born citizen
  • A teenager doing teenage stuff (I guess)
  • A leftist (remind me to make a dispatch on my beliefs later)
  • A Christian with usually fundamentalists views (except for on the Patriarchist, (Bible wasn't a big thing on Gender equity) and LGBTQ+ rights, (Bible wasn't a big thing on that either) (Also the Mosaic law doesn't let us eat things like bacon and ham since in the Bible pigs are unclean animals. Like how am I to survive not eating bacon! >:( )

My main feedback is to elaborate on everything as much as possible. Right now I feel it's way too short when you could explain a bit more.

I continue my position since the last time this was attempted that without the dark theme stuff that has been officially ruled as not commendable, Northrop Grumman is in no way actually commendable. So as per last time, against. That being said, this resolution is short enough that I'll throw in my edits anyway:

Tinhampton wrote:THANKFUL that [nation=Northrop-Grumman] (N-G) has, for the past eighth of a century, maintained the world's most comprehensive and easily accessible Lists of National Capitals and Leaders;

I feel like this is the 20th time I've seen this in a Tinhampton resolution, but why in the heck do you always do [nation=Northrop-Grumman]? That isn't proper bbcode... it doesn't even work... just do Northrop-Grumman... pls...

"eighth of a century" is a weird (and unnecessary?) bit of math to do when you could just provide the number of years.

"lists of" maybe "lists of both".

Tinhampton wrote:IMPRESSED, furthermore, at the tireless work of N-G's many historians, who have preserved in great detail for current and future generations some of their homeland's most inspiring tales: working with their counterparts in nations such as Roania, Xanthal, and Anagonia to document subjects as diverse as war reparations, existential financial crises, failed assassination plots and more than a hint of diplomacy;

Colon should be a semicolon.

Oxford comma.

Italics should maybe just be around "more than a hint".

Tinhampton wrote:RECOGNISING that, although N-G's upkeep of such thematic lists and relentless creativity should not overshadow their other great achievements, this body has no choice but to black out the nature and significance of those feats; but

Oh god it's Makdon's resolution all over again. We're gonna start doing everything blackly and in the night and shit again. In seriousness, this clause really doesn't make any sense? Why is this body blacking out those feats? Is there an actual reason for this other than a cheap workaround for a mod ruling?

Tinhampton wrote:REMAINING fully convinced that, for their dedication to promoting interaction and transparency between governments, N-G is highly deserving of Commendation regardless:

"that, for" shouldn't have a comma iirc. Maybe? That transition looks weird for some reason.

Why is "Commendation" capitalized?

Hope these are helpful, have a great day!
