I'm sincerely blown away by this. As I've stated quite a few times in the past, I never expected that such a resolution would ever pass, or if it did, that it would be very controversial at least. I certainly didn't expect a sweep in which no GCRs and only one major UCR voted against. Furthermore, apart from the fact of the badge, the resolution itself is well-written and reflective of what I've done in the past half-decade (sans my screwups, of which there are several ), and the text is certainly one that I feel I can be proud about.

Thank you Vippertooth, Praetor, and everyone else that approached the draft in good faith, no matter if you voted for or voted against. I'd also like to thank the myriad of people I've worked with and/or worked against - the people, be they IC foes or IC friends, that made this dinky little browser game so addictive and fun, and without whom any of the things mentioned wouldn't have been possible; the number of people is too large to list. One deliberate shoutout, though: A special thank you to Nakari, who has not only been my "partner-in-crime", both small and large ways, in many of the things mentioned in the resolution as well as many more that were not, but also has become a very good friend beyond the game, the kind that one can only dream of having.

This clause was more than a little eyebrow-raising, since the "proximity to large regions" brings to mind this thread made in Technical by Roavin. In it, he complains that raiders have made it impossible for defenders to win defensive victories in raided regions, specifically because raiders are creating large regions close to the raided regions.

I understand how that confusion arose based on the first draft, but just to clarify: That line isn't referring to the recent efforts to combat update bending (some of which I was involved in, some of which I wasn't), but rather referring to something initially conceptualized in 2016 and then used in 2017 when occupation targets were chosen, sometimes accidentally and sometimes deliberately (particularly by TBH), that weren't conducive to being accurately triggered for with the classic approach of finding a small region spaced at an appropriate time beforehand (for example, imagine triggering for an occupation in a region that updates right after a feeder). TBH's own Devi can fill you in on the details, I've philosophized with her about it at the time.
