The Security Council

Commend Wallenburg

A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

The World Assembly Security Council,

Recognizing Wallenburg as one of the most well-known and oft-acknowledged nations in the world, ultimately overcoming adversity to bring a remarkably egalitarian and safe society to its people,

Believing that the People's Republic of Wallenburg helped rescue millions of people from tyranny and possible persecution through their previous annexation of the Holy Republic of Wallenburg, ultimately manifesting in what is today a more benevolent union of the two, the Sororal Republics of Wallenburg,

Impressed by the National Assembly of Wallenburg, the two hundred and fifty-six delegates of which hold near-complete legislative and executive authority over the nation, whose primary job is to ensure the continuance of a paradisaical home for the citizens residing there,

Admiring the very well-read, intelligent, and politically-informed populace present in Wallenburg as a result of the rigorous educational programs that are put in place by the government,

Astonished by the near-utopian economic state that is present within Wallenburg, which comes from harmonic sync between industry and the workers of the nation, ultimately ensuring that everybody has their essential needs taken care of through the use of welfare or other programs in place,

Praising the Wallenburgian World Assembly Offices for their continually outstanding work when it comes to matters of this fair body, chiefly through the leadership of former Chief Representative Helen Trevanyika, as well as the current Chief Representative Mikael Alex-Oliva Ogenbond, especially when it comes to the matter of ensuring that compliance with World Assembly legislation is enforced in all areas of their jurisdiction, through the establishment and use of the Wallenburgian Office of Compliance and Investigation,

Further staggered by the immense amount of work and dedication that the Wallenburgian delegation has put into the General Assembly specifically, through uncredited help given to countless individual proposals and resolutions, as well as through the production of nine credited resolutions for the chamber, including but not limited to:
  1. Legislation that ensures access to sexual and reproductive education to all, through the form of GAR#369 "Reproductive Education Act",
  2. Protections towards agriculture against invasive species that may harm the industry via GAR#431 "Agricultural Invasive Species Act",
  3. Mandating that World Assembly member-states aid those who are victims of genocide on grounds of their economic status through GAR#450 "Don't Kill The Poor Act",
  4. Environmental protection of natural underground aquifers through GAR#453 "Preventing Groundwater Contamination",
  5. The establishment of an international court that ensures that non-compliance with extant World Assembly legislation is punished appropriately, by means of GAR#466 "World Assembly Justice Accord",

Respecting the Wallenburgian assurance that the inner workings of the World Assembly should be made more publicly accessible, as shown through their lengthy and well-served time as the Chief Minister of World Assembly Affairs in The East Pacific,

Further recognizing contributions made to The East Pacific through their time spent both as an Arbiter and Viceroy of The Conclave, the regional court,

And affirming that any nation which has been such a boon to the World Assembly and its influence at large, in spite of rising from a long and arduous history that, in other circumstances, may have made significant contributions impossible, deserves the highest recognition that the Security Council can bestow, hereby:

Commends Wallenburg

I've spoken to Wallenburg about this, and they were generally receptive to the idea. Wally is one of the most well-known and respected members of the General Assembly, and I think that they deserve a proposal to highlight that. I hope I've done a satisfactory job.

Drafts/Changelog:

The World Assembly Security Council,

Recognizing Wallenburg as one of the most well-known and oft-acknowledged nations in the world, ultimately overcoming adversity to bring a remarkably egalitarian and safe society to its people,

Believing that the People's Republic of Wallenburg helped rescue millions of people from tyranny and possible persecution through their previous annexation of the Holy Republic of Wallenburg, ultimately manifesting in what is today a more powerful and even-handed union of the two, the Sororal Republics of Wallenburg,

Impressed by the National Assembly of Wallenburg, the two hundred and fifty-six delegates of which hold near-complete legislative and executive authority over the nation, and ensure the continuance of a paradisaical home for the citizens residing there,

Admiring the exceptionally high standard of public education implemented by the government of the Sororal Republics, ultimately leading to one of the most well-read, intelligent, and politically-informed populaces in the world,

Astonished by the effectiveness of Wallenburg's protection of the working class, ensuring the general welfare of nearly all people, which occurs without actively working against large businesses, thus bolstering the economy to incredible margins for all, making a near-utopian economic state for the nation,

Praising the Wallenburgian World Assembly Offices for their continually outstanding work when it comes to matters of this fair body, especially through the leadership of former Chief Representative Helen Trevanyika, as well as the current Chief Representative Mikael Alex-Oliva Ogenbond, especially when it comes to the matter of ensuring that compliance with World Assembly legislation is enforced in all areas of their jurisdiction, through the establishment and use of the Wallenburgian Office of Compliance and Investigation,

Further staggered by the immense amount of work and dedication that the Wallenburgian delegation has put into the General Assembly especially, producing six distinct resolutions for the chamber, including but not limited to legislation that ensures access to sexual and reproductive education to all, through the form of GAR#369 "Reproductive Education Act", environmental protection of natural underground aquifers through the GAR#453 "Preventing Groundwater Contamination", and the establishment of an international court that ensures that non-compliance with extant World Assembly legislation is punished appropriately, by means of GAR#466 "World Assembly Justice Accord", as well as granting uncredited help and support in countless other proposals and resolutions presented before both councils of the World Assembly,

Respecting the Wallenburgian assurance that the inner workings of the World Assembly should be made more public and accessible, as shown through their lengthy and well-served time as the Chief Minister of World Assembly Affairs in The East Pacific,

And affirming that any nation which has been such a boon to the World Assembly and its influence at large, in spite of rising from a long and arduous history that, in other circumstances, may have made significant contributions impossible, deserves the highest recognition that the Security Council can bestow, hereby:

Commends Wallenburg[box]

First Major Edit: Fixed number of resolutions authored by Wallenburg as a player, from the number authored by the nation of Wallenburg. I added a few other examples of their resolutions, and changed it into list form.

Significant change: Made the clauses regarding welfare/the economy and public education hopefully sound less stat-oriented and more based around the roleplay that I intended for it to be.

Firstly, "through the GAR#453"? Secondly, Wallenburg has written nine GA resolutions if we include The Wallenburgian World Assembly Offices.

Thirdly, for those of you who get the NSWA Discord injoke, Tinhampton reacted with :regional_indicator_w:

Oops, typo - will be fixed in the next draft.

Also, I searched the GA Passed Resolutions thread for "Wallenburg", forgetting it wasn't just like ctrl+f, and I needed to search for "Wallenburgian" as well. Will also be fixed in the next draft - I guess there are some other resolutions which are easily referencable there, so I should probably convert that clause into a [list] BBCode so I can add a few more.

I think the “paridisaical” is a silly insertion and the stats are basically just filler. Wallenburg can be commended for GA work and issues work, but those stats are not really anything special.

Additionally, Wallenburg wrote an issue, #466... or is it true that he’s still upset about the edit and has forbidden you to mention it.

We going to turn this one into an OOC bitchfest as well? If so:

Doesn't seem like overly commendable behavior to me. Hard Pass.

Those aren't referring to stats, they're referring to roleplay which can be found in fragments here. I only checked their stats briefly to see if there was anything truly exceptional there, but there wasn't anything that blew me away. Is there anything that you think could make this more clear?

As for the Issue, I am aware of its existence, but I also know that Wally has expressed in the past that it was edited heavily edited (to the point of them saying in the NSWA Discord server that it was "completely butchered"). They did say that I am free to include it, if I want, but I decided that I'd wait off on it for a bit and see if people thought it was necessary to include.

Obvious sarcasm is obvious. Wallenburg, while a bit blunt at times, is not someone I would consider an asshole, or even really rude for that matter.

Also, even if he was, there's a pretty big difference between "being an irritable asshole on the Internet" and "disliking people for a fundamental aspect for their own self" or even making posts that imply that or are directly offensive to people as a result of that fundamental aspect. But this is not the place for it.

Hopefully made some clauses sound less stat-oriented and more based on the roleplay that I intended for it to be based on, with a bit of help from the WA Discord server.

Added in a clause. I did some searching for TEP government history, but didn't find anything outside of what I had - so thank you for the heads-up.

I would capitalize both Arbiter and Viceroy since it's a title. Not sure if you want any specific examples of regional law or cases (mainly because his tenure started recently) unless it would be redundant.

I would capitalize both Arbiter and Viceroy since it's a title. Not sure if you want any specific examples of regional law or cases (mainly because his tenure started recently) unless it would be redundant.

Fixed the capitalization issues - I think that the implication that he deals with regional law is heavy enough as-is, and I'd prefer to keep the proposal as minimally listy as possible, lol.

I don't know too much about the nominee so I assume the information is accurate - a couple of stylistic suggestions though:

Praising the Wallenburgian World Assembly Offices for their continually outstanding work when it comes to matters of this fair body, especially through the leadership of former Chief Representative Helen Trevanyika, as well as the current Chief Representative Mikael Alex-Oliva Ogenbond, especially when it comes to the matter of ensuring that compliance with World Assembly legislation is enforced in all areas of their jurisdiction, through the establishment and use of the Wallenburgian Office of Compliance and Investigation,

Further staggered by the immense amount of work and dedication that the Wallenburgian delegation has put into the General Assembly especially, through the uncredited help and support given to countless individual proposals and resolutions, as well as through the production of nine credited resolutions for the chamber, including but not limited to:

In these 2 lines you use "especially" 3 times, and in all of these instances the word isn't really necessary to the content of the clause. Additionally, why is it necessary to name both of the WA representatives here?

Another thing I've noticed about your writing is that you tend to use 2 descriptors for everything as a default, which leads to excessive use of "and" (20 times by my count, not including the last clause). Some of these instances seem unnecessary, do you have to clarify "proposals and resolutions" or "help and support" as they generally mean the same thing?

Hopefully I fixed most of the issues - I kept the references to both of the WA representatives, though, because I feel that it would be incomplete without mentioning both of them. Trevanyika is arguably more well-known of the two of them, whereas Ogenbond is more current. Under their leadership, the administration accomplished some different things.

I may be mistaken but wasn't Wallenburg the nation that bought adds and was the target of much criticism early in their NS career? If so, this is quite the turnaround and I'm glad to support it regardless of having differences in political views.

Recent: Commend Wallenburg was passed 9,360 votes to 3,885.

Honestly a bit surprised at how this sailed through with less than a full page of commentary.
