Commend Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls
A resolution to recognise outstanding achievement by a nation or region.Category: CommendationNominee: Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian CatgirlsProposed by: Tinhampton
THE SECURITY COUNCIL:
RECALLING that, at the end of March 2020, the ambassador from Caelapes stood down as the Secretary-General of the World Assembly after making a highly controversial comment about [region=Libertatem], thus spurring the second election for the post in four years and simultaneously turning World Assembly Headquarters into a jungle ravaged for half a week by obsessive and often offensive negotiating;
NOTING [nation=Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls] (TACLC) to be a vassal state of [nation=Sakana], a raider that had succeeded mere weeks earlier in claiming the WA Delegacy of Slatos, a particularly infamous region which was destroyed by an interregional coalition after it lost its founder and then its Prime Minister for multiple inflammatory remarks;
OBSERVING, with gratitude, the TACLC candidate's speedy, timely announcement of a grassroots campaign for Secretary-General (one well-suited to an election for a post which entitles its holder to power so immense that no spokesperson dares to mention the consequences of wielding it), which featured among its main tenets and promises:
- subsidised tea, both South Pacific Iced and black, especially after an early concession from Wymondham's WA office;
- trans visibility and equality (hastily appropriated by the Caelapitan incumbent in an ill-fated attempt to win re-election);
- getting this august body to "endorse" the act of holding hands, without much in the way of context; and notably
- the commissioning, by a wide array of pro-TACLC illustrators from across the multiverse, of drawings of catgirls for WA ambassadors that requested such (even those opting to support other candidacies) throughout the campaign, which ranks as among the finest politicking efforts in modern world history;
IDENTIFYING the TACLC-run campaign - which reflected their candidate's meticulous, responsive, and sometimes wildly hilarious approach to politics - as a model, not only for similar campaigns in future (if they ever occur), but also for the attitude that every national leader should keep in mind during their daily business:
- happily espousing the virtues of other candidates for Secretary-General - broadly friendlier and less inclined to make suspect accusations of vote-rigging than certain other competitors - in its only official campaign communication;
- winning, in turn, the support of a few feeders, sinkers, and other former candidates such as those hailing from Wymondham, McMasterdonia and The Stalker; and
- willing where necessary to implore sympathetic WA delegations to vote against Jocospor's openly fascist candidate (which had wrongly labelled TACLC as a member state of the "WA Elite"), but doing so and carrying out all other election-related business while rising above the horrendous squabbles and shows of self-righteousness that plagued many other campaigns; and
BELIEVING the campaign ran by Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls' nominee - who ultimately came second to the Lenlyvitian Empress and her political action committee, which sent at least four stamped campaign letters to every national WA delegation - to be a shining example of how even a single nation can effectively promote fundamental international values such as equality, respect, and good old-fashioned anti-fascism to all and sundry:
HEREBY COMMENDS [nation=Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls].
"Commending Sakana for April Fools is a bad idea!" Commend Versutian Federation, which aimed to Commend a two-week-old region simply for handling Z-Day 1 well, got 45.1% FOR. Commend The NationStates Community actually passed! So why shouldn't I get a fairly-experienced raider Commended for an Election 2020 campaign in which she simply oozed positivity and decorum? (Kuriko has the badge, Val Z doesn't want the badge, and Caelapes had a lacklustre Condemnation by Bitely rejected after the first election - ergo...)
"Commending Sakana for raiding is a bad idea!" TACLC/Sakana/Feu de Glace, who was at the time raiding for EPSA (previously for Lily; now a Corporal in TBH) was the point for February's raid on Slatos. If we were talking about a genuinely innocent founderless region like Yorkshire or The Communist Bloc, I wouldn't talk about it in this Commend; however, given the attempted hijacking of Stargate (a TNP ally), infiltration of TEP and generally annoying comments made by Slatosians, I believe that her help in pillaging Slatos is worthy of mention.
"Commending Sakana is a bad idea!" If she doesn't want it, she can say so here.
"You're just not the right author!" TACLC is nice. I had the idea for this during the first round when it looked like she was on a path to winning the General Election; only now, however, have I truly fleshed out the proposal.
"Your first clause isn't accurate!" There is a really nasty bug going about that I shall not mention here which led to the cancellation of Max's Providence book tour which was supposed to leave him and [violet] without any time to code a new April Fool for 2020... but since Rule 4 exists, I'll have to pretend that the election was triggered by Misley's TG to Auxorii instead. Not strictly true OOCly, but it just about makes for safer and saner roleplay
"Rule 4 says Kuriko is a nation, not a woman!" Ahhhh - but Kuriko's roleplayed Empress is, you see.
