[DRAFT] Commend Deruuu

Postby Rikuchar » Thu Apr 30, 2020 11:59 am

Right, so I've never even attempted to write a WA resolution, but here's my crack at it, since my region greatly benefited from the actions of Deruuu and their chronicling of their NS experience for the world to see. I know this is bordering on rule 4 but hey, it needs to be done imo. Rip it apart at your leisure, and if anyone knows how to actually propose this let me know :lol2:
Recognizing the actions Deruuu has made to benefit all regions in the world, specifically:
  1. Increasing the amount of participation in regional culture, government, and community through their mentorship, direct or indirect, of the leaders of new nations
  2. Enhancing experience in these regions for all nations through the aforementioned mentorship of new national leaders
  3. Creating a prime environment, through this mentorship, for these new nations to become a part of the World Assembly, breathing new life into its halls
Observing that Deruuu has acquired a great many endorsements in their home region of Confederacy of Layem, directly benefiting that region and its visibility not only in the World Assembly but in the world at large,
Noting Deruuu's short existence thusfar, which gives newfound hope for success to all new nations in the world,
Revering Deruuu as the source of newfound life to the world and all that occurs within it,
Hereby commends Deruuu.

Translation: I’ve never attempted an SC resolution before, but here’s a bandwagon I can jump on and see if I can score a badge.

Rikuchar wrote:I know this is bordering on rule 4 but hey, it needs to be done imo. Rip it apart at your leisure, and if anyone knows how to actually propose this let me know :lol2:

Translation: this may well be illegal, but I can’t be bothered reading the rules to make sure.

No they’ve done none of this. Most of these new nations will CTE in 28 days.

Rikuchar wrote:Observing that Deruuu has acquired a great many endorsements in their home region of Confederacy of Layem, directly benefiting that region and its visibility not only in the World Assembly but in the world at large,

So what? They are a minor nation in a minor region and will remain so.

Rikuchar wrote:Noting Deruuu's short existence thusfar, which gives newfound hope for success to all new nations in the world,

So we’re commending nations for just existing? Hey, you get a Commend and you get a Commend and you get a Commend.....

Rikuchar wrote:Revering Deruuu as the source of newfound life to the world and all that occurs within it,

Oh good grief.

Rikuchar wrote:Hereby commends Deruuu.

Well you got this bit right.

You get a point for drafting on the forum, but minus several million for producing yet another forgettable C&C proposal to go with all the others. At least AMOM’s defeated Condemn had humour and style unlike this.

Deruuu doesn't deserve a commendation or condemnation. Besides, he didn't directly crash the site or anything, his followers were curious and wanted to check the site for themselves.

Which we absolutely should be welcoming. It's great to see new life here on this site.

Still doesn't strictly need a commendation at this time though.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

The majority of your criticisms on this were sound but these two points actually set me off a bit.

Firstly, no, I didn't do this for a badge, because I didn't know there was a badge for it. I will admit I did do it partially to get my region on the map through me being the author, as I am delegate in my region and in charge of our WA affairs. I thought I might be able to write something that brings us some pride, even if we didn't gain visibility.

Secondly, I did read the rules, hence why I mentioned Rule 4. Can't talk about specific rules if you didn't read them.

Wintreath is a well known and, to the best of my knowledge, a well respected region. Not sure what sort of kudos you expected to gain for it by this sort of ambulance chasing.

Let's not mmkay? He is a Youtuber and not a particularly good one at that. If you take a look at his channel you will not most of his thumbnails make it look like he is either A) Caught mid orgasm, or B) Trying desperately to push out an extremely troublesome shit. Either or, not a strong candidate for a either commendation or a condemnation.

Opposed.
