Do not post in this thread.

This is a list of SC proposals which have reached vote and failed. Many proposals which have reached vote don't have the margins and dating easily accessible, but with the help of the WA Archives, Wilkshire from the Lexicon, and Mikeswill from NationStates (region), I (along with the previous thread custodian/s) have compiled what looks to be a complete list with relevant information. It is useful for:

1. Gaining inspiration for ideas you should/shouldn't do.
2. Seeing how the SC has stood over time (including major controversies). Seeing what it likes and dislikes can be helpful.
3. Avoiding making the same mistakes over and over again.
4. Comparing this with list of passed resolutions to observe how the SC has developed over time.

This can be used to give inspiration (many of these things which have failed later passed), but also to squash it - which it shouldn’t. I’ll provide a list in this thread of repeat defeats (see below), but don’t let them discourage you! You may be one who can write it properly.

BELIEVING Equilism to be a breeding ground for very intelligent, talented players in all aspects of the game, most notably in gameplay aspects, especially in dealing with regional politics. Equilism has produced very strong players throughout its history.

RECOGNIZING the unwavering amount of activity, both in-game and out of game, which includes, but is not limited to, roleplaying, hosting inter-regional events, and harboring various political events and strategies. We also recognize the E-Army and all of its achievements.

UNDERSTANDING Equilism's ability to maintain regional population and teach players on different aspects of the game.

OFFICIALLY commending the user-created region of Equilism and all of its efforts as committed by its inhabitants.

DEFINING an empire builder as a nation who attacks a region in order to plant its own region’s name on the World Factbook Entry of the target region,

ASSERTING that empire builders embarrass and harass the natives of a region, and often end up crashing the target region,

NOTING that Grub behaved as both a region crasher and an empire builder while carrying out the abominations in Empire of Power,

SHOCKED that Grub attacked and destroyed the region Empire of Power because of a personal grudge,

OUTRAGED that Empire of Power, a region with over 175 members, was destroyed by such cruel and unjust practices,

HORRIFIED that Grub has held Empire of Power prisoner for over six years,

SICKENED by the bragging and gloating present on the Regional Message Board and World Factbook Entry designed to harass the former natives,

FEARING that New Earth will refound the region;

BELIEVING that Gatesville’s fanatical regionalism and its rabid advocacy of ‘national sovereignty’ continues to undermine the combined efforts of the World Assembly and all its member nations;

RECOGNIZING that 'Commend Sedgistan'; while well-intentioned and appropriate at the time, has been superseded by events;

NOTING the many dishonorable actions by Sedgistan which have since come to light;

AMONG these:

• Sedgistan's invasion and grieving of the region Anatolia, forceably ejecting a long-time native, NTO-08 from the region;
  
• The passwording of the region Austria through S-E-D-G-E(which is ruled by the same leader as Sedgistan), ostensibly to 'protect' the region from invasions, but actually to choke the region of life. Alarmed that it was done without the prior consent of other nations in Austria, and despite an expressed wish by Security Council members to remove the password, Sedgistan refuses to remove the password;
  
• Sedgistan's betrayal of the nation's home region, Global Right Alliance (GRA). Specifically, Sedgistan's destruction of GRA's community forum/meeting place and sabotage of the region's immigration system and nation-to-nation communication system--actions that caused irreparable damage to the region (the region has lost more than 200 in population since the unprovoked attack);
  
• Sedgistan's refounding of City in the Sky, a region originally belonging to Falconias, out of spite.

NOTING that the former "Commend Sedgistan" resolution was misleading and implied Sedgistan was solely responsible for the liberation of Feudal Japan, when in fact, it was a cooperative effort between the World Assembly and various defender and non-aligned regions;

DISTRESSED that Sedgistan has betrayed the trust of many nations; including members of the Security Council that previously voted for the commendation;

BELIEVING that the Security Council must hold its commendees accountable for their actions and aspire to a higher standard,
