Commend Kyrusia

I'm currently working on a Security Council Proposal to commend Kyrusia. Unfortunately, I've been told in the past that my proposals are trash, so I may need some assistance. Firstly, I'm looking for specific good/nice things he's done. I will take some time soon to do a bit of looking around and find more items, but, for now, does anybody have any advice for making the proposal?

Commend Kyrusia

Recognizing that @Kyrusia has been a moderator for some time,

Noting that @Kyrusia has faithfully offered just, unbiased, and helpful rulings throughout that time,

Knowing that @Kyrusia has been patient with those they have made rulings against, and always taken the time to clarify the reasons and logic behind their rulings,

Believing that @Kyrusia has been a powerful, helpful addition to the community,

The Security Council hereby commends @Kyrusia.

You can't commend a nation for moderation. It's against Security Council rules

I do plan to talk to other people. Talking to him might be difficult. Part of why I wanted to do this is that I made a very bad impression on him. I had been having a rough day and got into an argument with him, during which I let my mouth (which can be quite rude sometimes) get ahead of me. I tried apologizing via TG, but I'm not sure if he ever saw it.

Point is, he's a great player and moderator, and I felt this could be a way to both apologize and get him recognized for everything he's done.

I don't think commending him is necessary to apologize. But if you really believe the nation should be commended you should go and talk to him.

Everything you wrote violates rule 1. Trying to apologize to a moderator in this way is a bad idea. Speaking generally, in such situations, just move on as the moderator already has.

As Borovan entered the region as he said and Ransium ruled the entirety of the text you've posted is one long Rule 1 violation, and as Ransium indicated this a bad idea. I find it doubtful that Kyru would see this as an anything but an attempt to manipulate him, and I also think that your stated motives will likely hinder this proposal's odds of success, even if you do come back with a decently written commendation.

That being said, you asked for advice so I will give you what little I can: I do not know very much about Kyrusia besides his activities as a moderator and roleplay mentor. His roleplaying seems to be the way to go if you want to commend him (keeping in mind that you cannot mention that any of it is roleplay). I'm not sure if this is a duty he has as a staff member, or if he is just the caretaker of it, but he runs the Future Tech Advice and Assistance Thread. Regardless, I'm pretty sure you can't mention that either. He has an OOC overview dispatch that you might find useful. You could also try contacting another roleplay Mentor to get more information on him, as they likely know him better.

but why though they're a pretty fair mod and ill be the first to admit I'v had my disagreements with them but they're just doing their job.

If anything, we're already over-recognized. For my part, I consider moving posts and warning WA multis (and all the other mundane stuff we do) enjoyable in its own right. I don't seek recognition, and I definitely don't want people to post a thank you every time I do something routine. I consider those posts (and frankly, SC proposals about mods) to be mostly time-wasting spam.

Maybe there are other staff members with different opinions on this subject, but that's my two cents.
