Draft: Repeal "Liberate Utopia"

Postby Ellenburg » Sat Jan 19, 2019 11:15 am

Security Council,

Notes: The threats of the past have been dealt with in the region of Utopia.

Acknowledging: The need for this resolution at the time of enactment.

Observing: The current region of Utopia is a single nation region now. That has no World Assembly nation residing in it.

Further noting: The region now has an active founder who can protect it from future invasions.

Believing: That this resolution has served it purpose and is no longer needed

Hereby Repeal Security Council Resolution #13: Liberate Utopia

Please everyone let me your know your thoughts on this before I submit it.

Against - I don't see the need to remove a historical resolution just for sake of "utility". It fits the theme of the region and there's no harm in keeping the liberation around.
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

I note that other resolutions similar to this and just as historic have been repealed in the past. The is region is on the verge of non-existence. Since there is no WA members in the region anymore it puts it as an obsolete resolution. The founder is back in the region and it is now safe.

Liberations have been repealed before, but the ones most similar to this are the libs on Belgium, Democratia, Greece, and Republicans. The consensus with this group of resolutions is that there is no harm in leaving them up as a historical artifact.

Also, there being 0 WA nations in the region is irrelevant. I could put a nation in the WA and move it there, and it wouldn't change the region's situation one iota.

Finally, Utopia isn't on the "verge of non-existence". The founder has been there continously for at least 7 years. They aren't going anywhere.

No native support? Against.
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

I'm thinking that because of that reason, no matter how well this resolution is written, it would not pass.

Still no native support, its been submitted, and a campaign was sent. You really should get native support before trying to do this.

Is the sole surviving member of Utopia active enough to make getting a response from them even possible?
