[PASSED] Liberate Politics Amino

The Security Council,

Noting that Security Council Liberations become necessary when innocent regions are threatened by destruction from invading forces;

Believing that in this instance a liberation has become necessary due to the stated goal of the occupying forces in Politics Amino, having raided the region on January 18th, to destroy the region's community by banning all native nations and placing a password to prevent their return;

Determined to show the invading force, which consists of over 30 individual nations, that turning a region into a trophy is no easy thing by liberating their occupied region to prevent the placement of a password;

Hoping that this resolution will deter the invading forces from following through on their stated goals to turn Politics Amino into a trophy region;

Hereby liberates Politics Amino.

I drafted this real quick on my way to work, so its not the best. I'll also work on making contact with the natives today to get their support. For those wondering how we know they're going to turn it into a trophy, I refer you to this. Edit: This is only if a conventional liberation fails to succeed.

I think this resolution is good and to the point. We should try to deter this invasion from happening.

I just received a reply by a native voicing support on this resolution. Also, apparently the native WA delegate is hospitalized IRL at this point in time according to the native Oubaograd.

Well then, better get moving! You need a possessive in the “Believing” clause (the region’s community) but other than that I think it’s good to go. Remember, liberations are a sprint, not a marathon! :ugeek:

Lame. I haven't even seen defenders attempt anything yet. Kinda disappointed to see them to run to a liberation this quickly.

Against.

Actually, if you read my op you'd see where I said "This is in case a conventional liberation fails to work".

Minimum 40 updater jump on an active delegate? Sure we'll try, then will you stop moaning? :D

Ever heard of attrition runs? You're not exactly what you'd call "out of options" yet.

Kuriko authors resolution number...let us check...

SCR#269 Condemn Macedon
SCR#271 Repeal: "Condemn Macedon" (co-author)
SCR#275 Commend Justa (co-author)
SCR#276 Commend Paffnia

Having also run campaigns for resolutions that it had nothing to do with (SCR#272 Condemn United World Order), it's been a busy month (and eight days) for Kuriko!

Okay great. Now how is this relevant to this proposal?

I thought this said "liberate political ammo" and was in response to "Repeal: Commend Imperium Anglorum" rip

I feel like a lot of us are quick to assume Joco means harm - he is human like the rest of us - he can make random comments that encourage people.

On the one hand, the Republic of Pacifica opposes the unjustified destruction of regions. On the other, many of our diplomatic and military partners are involved in this invasion. All seven regions are our diplomatic partners, and five are involved in the Anti-Pacific Coalition alongside Pacifica. So, weighing these conflicting interests against each other, I've found both compelling and I've decided I will be abstaining from voting on this altogether.

That said, I urge the Osiris Fraternal Order to reconsider destruction of the region. The invasion was impressive enough. Destruction is unnecessary.

It sounds like your saying your opposition lasts only until it is politically inconvenient.

On the contrary, our opposition to unjustified regional destruction is one of our foreign policy objectives, but not the only one. There are times it has to be weighed against our other foreign policy interests as well. When there is a seven region invasion and all seven regions are our diplomatic partners, it doesn't make sense for us to participate in efforts against them, as that has potential to be damaging to our other foreign policy objectives.

We're an independent region, not a defender region. We do care about regional destruction, but we won't sacrifice all other foreign policy interests to that one principle, as that would compromise our ability to get anything done. In any case, we are far more likely to make a positive long-term impact by working with our diplomatic partners and encouraging them to refrain from engaging in regional destruction than we are by working against them.

Personally, as a former delegate and current representative of my own region, my heart goes out to the native's delegate. Having your community be in such a situation would no doubt be stressful for anyone with the responsibility of authority, moreso if you also have pressing irl matters to deal with.

Anyways, I wish you good luck on your proposal.

Not sure why this is required as the region remains free to move in and out from.

Seems too preemptive to do.
