[PASSED] Commend Jutsa

Postby Candensia » Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:23 pm

First Draft

The Security Council,

AWARE of the complex, constantly changing situations faced by national decision-makers, and the myriad of effects such situations have on national and international affairs;

ASSERTING that the importance of these issues commands the highest degree of linguistic skill and fortitude from entities involved in their portrayal to countless governing bodies;

RECOGNIZING that Jutsa, through thoughtfully planned data-sharing operations, has provided decision-makers in multitudes of jurisdictions with information concerning no less than fourteen separate matters, covering a wide range of topics, including:

    A high-profile firearms heist, as presented in No Lock, No Gun Stock, And No Smoking Barrels;

    The nature of product trademarks, as presented in A Cola by Any Other Name;

    Voting interference, as presented in En Bloc;

    Sustainable logging practices as it relates to international trade, as presented in Ebony Pride;

    The viability of international environmental legislation, as presented in Pulling Out; and

    The ramifications of a drugged water supply, as presented in Of Mice And Meth;

NOTING that Jutsa has, on at-least one occasion, collaborated with other nations, including Australian rePublic, to ensure information of significance was transmitted to decision-makers in an innumerable number of nations;

OBSERVING that Jutsa has also shown tremendous leadership in documenting hundreds of issues of national importance for the purposes of comparison, study, and that such documentation is of great benefit to the international community;

CERTAIN that Jutsa, through its great determination and tireless efforts, has vastly improved the means and the ability of key decision-makers the multiverse over to respond to issues of national importance; and

BELIEVING such an accomplishment is too great to ignore;

Hereby commends Jutsa.

Yes, that is cleverly worded here.

OBSERVING that Jutsa has also shown tremendous leadership in documenting hundreds of issues of national importance for the purposes of comparison, study, and that such documentation is of great benefit to the international community;

You say “upholds this standard” in the third clause but it feels a bit unclear to me that your referencing the second clause since it doesn’t really come off as a standard.

I think any non issues based information you can add would be helpful. Even though most of my commends and Condemns have had an Issues relation, I’ve tried to have other contributions to point at as well. Drasnia contributed a lot to his large region including being delegate, Chan was a reliable raider and both dabled in RP and region building in other ways.

If I were you I wouldn’t rush this to submission, I think you’re going to have a bit more push back than you currently suspect if you don’t make this more well rounded.

Thank you, Ransium. I have edited the third clause according to the concerns you raised.

I shall also spend additional time developing this.

EDIT: I have updated the draft version, and have also added several clauses to the resolution in an attempt to accomodate voiced concerns.

We only just saw this now. You might have mixed up some words here:

"CERTAIN that Jutsa, through its great determination and tireless efforts, has vastly improved the means and the ability of key decision-makers the multiverse over (decision-makers over the multiverse?) to respond to issues of national importance."

We thank the representative for their attentiveness, however “the multiverse over” is a twist on the phrase “the world over”, meaning “everywhere in the world.”

“The multiverse over” therefore means “everywhere in the multiverse”.

Note this is now at vote.

Good to see Jutsa recognised. A fine and likeable player, and of course, a fine and commendable nation.

Seeing Australian Republic get mentioned here makes me think someone should get to proposing he gets commended too.

Opposed. I personally believe that commendation should not be given to everyone without proof (with actual links to their contributions) that they have contributed a lot of things to/for the NationStates community (or they have been a good role model for new players/other players). And I believe that this is the thread for "Commend Jutsa" - not "Commend Australian Republic"'

Edit: I withdraw that statement of opposition concerning Australian Republic. I agree, Australian Republic deserves a commendation. Looking back, Australian Republic has stopped his old habit (will not say here) for quite a wee while now, and since then he has contributed a lot of things for the Issues Editing community.
