Draft: Repeal "Liberate Democratia"

Postby Ellenburg » Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:43 pm

I have started to draft this repeal. Please review and recommend any changes that might be needed to it.

Acknowledge : This resolution was needed at the time of enactment.

Noting: This resolution is out dated and the region in now liberated from the aggressors who held it previously.

Realizing: The region has a founder who can now properly protect it against aggressors in the future.

Noting: The aggressor delegate Smetistan that had password protected the region is no threat to the region any longer.

Recommending:The security Council to Repeal the "Liberate Democratia" resolution

Repeal: The Security Council Resolution #11 "Liberate Democratic"

1. You need an active clause "Repeals" that actually repeals the resolution, which you do not currently have.

2. This isn't really needed - it's a liberation that fits well with the current theme of the region, and ensures the region can't be locked down in the future.
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

Against, it's in theory an example of one of Codger's old ideas.

Firstly, having the Liberation fits the region's underlying 'Peacezone' concept.
Secondly, repealing the Liberation would leave the region extremely vulnerable to raiders [again] if the Founder ceases to exist.
Thirdly, you have shown no evidence that the region's natives want this repeal (and I can assure you that at least two of those nations do not want it).
Against.

Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.
