Hmmm. I wouldn't use this wording to mention this, as it likely crosses the line and violates Rule 4(c). The Issues Editor badge is part of the game. This proposal doesn't lose much if you just leave that half sentence out.

On the other hand, the way you have worded the clause relating to NSIndex makes it legal. NSIndex is not part of the game, and the way you describe it, as "an international database of information [...] which strives to provide objective and factual information to nations across the international community" makes it make sense from an in-character perspective.

There are still a couple of grammatical errors (a semicolon instead of a comma in the NOTING clause, lack of a space after the first GA resolution link, an extraneous semicolon in the ACKNOWLEDGING clause). You should fix those before submitting.

I’m for it. Minoa’s contributed quite a bit to the community. They deserve recognition.

To whom it may concern,

We recognize that Minoa has done some good for the World Assembly, and thereby has had some positive impact on the larger world. The nation of Emendatus Paradisium cannot - in good conscience - promote this because of nation's involvement in "On Abortion", which forces member nations to legalize abortion in cases where, "The pregnancy resulted from involuntary sexual activity and/or sexual activity in which at least one of the parties could not legally give consent" or "Severe foetal abnormality would result in a child being born with an incurable condition which is fatal and/or painful". Given that all three of our political parties agree that abortion should be illegal in every case except when the life of the mother is at risk, not only do we see this as a grave legalization of murder, but we will push to this resolution to be replaced with a similar resolution that does not legalize abortion in this case. If this is not repealed, then we will resign our position in the World Assembly, because law in our nation does not line up with the resolution nor does any political party wish to adjust the laws accordingly. Firmly believing that both children conceived of rape and children who are disabled have a right to life, we cannot support this resolution nor can we commend those who passed it.

Furthermore, we are saddened that this was intentionally covered up in the proposition because they knew people would possibly vote "Against" if this information was known. Member nations should be permitted to cast their votes with all of the information possible laid before them. So even if this was a nation that we saw agreement with on many issues, we could not in good conscience support the tactics used to secure this commendation.

It's kind of sad that "On Abortion" had to be removed and now is being used as a reason to vote against. Whether or not you're for that resolution, it was passed by the WA as a whole, and it's definitely petty to dismiss someone's contributions because one of their proposals is something you don't like. There are always going to be proposals that I disagree with that get passed, but it doesn't mean I can't appreciate the contributions they've made. I've contributed quite a bit to NSIndex, and it's definitely a helpful resource, nevermind all the other good Minoa's done, so I definitely vote FOR this resolution.

Thank you for your comment. It was a initially hard concession for me as the author to not include On Abortion. However after speaking with Minoa we agreed that it would be okay not including it. My biggest worry was that it would undermine any favorable vote.
If I would have known the amount of For votes we were going to receive I would have risked keeping it in. Either way the resolution is forever in Minoas (Charlotte Ryberg name) until a successful repeal.

In the few hours we have left before voting closes I wanted to thank the Delegates and the World Assembly for supporting this proposal and seeing through the Commendation of a longtime contributor to our Community.
I would also like to thank Kuriko, who helped me with the telegrams needed to get this proposal its quorum and saved it dying from lack of quorum.

I wish Minoa good luck with continued work on the NSIndex and I hope that I have helped to give you the lasting legacy you deserve and have worked so hard to eventually achieve.

It was my first time authoring any draft or proposal and I see even more now the sense of privelege and responsibility that WA authorship bestows.

I hope to author yet more proposals and look into writing for those who should have received recognition long ago and for some of those of the newer generation who have surpassed the older generation in so many ways.

Thank you :)

I have been relatively silent in the Security Council, not only to limit interference with the drafting and voting, but also because I and other members of the NSindex community have gone beyond just the issues by rebuilding the UN/WA resolution archive that disappeared with the collapse of NSwiki.net, which occurred 5 years on this month.

Who knows? By 2019 we may even move into the NationStates World Cup, given that we already know where the Jolt threads are archived to figure out why UN Resolution 46A was deleted (wrong category), and also where the Mad Sheep Railgun proposal was located: but that’s for a thread of its own.
