Not accurate, actually. The ELO's origins were not sourced in the proposal's existence. It just coincided with it, and we used it as the opportunity presented itself. Originally the "coup" was going to last until April Fools or the day after, but we decided to cut it short after the Liberation passed due to making things at home a little less stressful for poor Yuno. Saying that the proposal was why the ELO happened is factually inaccurate in a technical sense. It was an April Fools joke on the rest of Gameplay about which most people were deeply confused.

The ELO came after we wrote the liberation and everything.

Originally, we were looking into symbolic liberations after "Liberate Kaiserreich," when Lenlyvit was still in our WA Ministry. UM initially wrote "Liberate the East Pacific" as a joke and immediately withdrew it, but someone noticed in the "Recent Events" thing and it was revealed that he wrote:

The Security Council,
Liking TEP,
But seeking to free the region from the rule of the oppressive Loligarch, Queen Yuno
Hereby Liberates The East Pacific

Then I wrote "Liberate the East Pacific" (not the submitted version) as a joke in our Discord channel, and it was submitted by UM. It was pulled a few minutes after, but I found an image:

A better drafted version was submitted later that day, on March 17. It would be in the queue for a bit because of Liberate Femdom Empire and would go up for vote on March 23rd, minor update.

Yuno and Xor came up with the ELO on or shortly before March 23rd, and it was a regional theme. There was a few minor concerns that some old GP salts would fly off the handle, but surely everyone would realize it was a joke, right?

The joke was supposed to last up until April 1st, but we pulled it after the liberation passed because there was just so much drama going on.

And for all that effort, I say we keep it up! >_>
