[PASSED] Condemn Wrapper

Postby Ransium » Tue Dec 26, 2017 8:38 am

While we're working to commend Mall I thought it would be only fair to go ahead and condemn Wrapper. If anyone can figure out how to include Fris and Mall in this proposal I believe I'll be able to write whatever I want, as there will be no mods left to mark it illegal.

Herby came to me with the idea and much of the research and I did the writing.

If some of this crosses beyond the line towards hurtful (particularly with regard to regional politics) I'd be open to re-writes and suggestions.

Also, the area this is most lacking, IMO, is more Stanger's bar RP, more suggestions in that area would be welcome.

The World Assembly,

Acknowledging that the nation of Wrapper has convinced many that they are attempting to improve the NationStates community;

However, while uncertain if it is due to malevolence or sheer incompetence, firmly convinced that each and every decision the leadership of Wrapper has made has had terrible consequences;

Forlorn that in repealing GA #351 “Nuclear Material Safeguards” the WA delegation of Wrapper allowed tinpot dictators and outlaw states easy access to nuclear materials while claiming to be hung up on the minutia of the word choice of the "wrong hands";

Questioning whether this was accidental considering Wrapper's WA staff have participated in illegal arms trading, which directly resulted in the arrest of the esteemed Ambassador Bell (representative of the commended nation of Separatist Peoples) and the firebombing of WA offices;

Distraught that through the WA delegation of their protectorate, Imperial Polk County, Wrapper passed "Ban On Ritual Sacrifice", which, while claiming to protect the vulnerable, actually trampled upon the religious rights of numerous nations to enforce so-called 'civilized standards';

Noting Imperial Polk County's WA Ambassador once raised money supposedly for 'hurricane relief' only to squander it at The Strangers' Bar;

Absolutely positively convinced that Wrapper's WA Ambassadors' attempts to build esprit de corps among other World Assembly representatives through karaoke night actually caused more than one nation to leave this august body;

Denouncing Wrapper for proclaiming to act in the best interest of the region of Stargate during their nearly two-year leadership, while actually allowing the region to be raided once and another time 'accidentally' abandoning its post, and ultimately putting severe barriers from further immigration, placing the future of the region at risk;

Distressed that during Wrapper's brief leadership of the region of Monty Pythons Flying Circus via protectorate The Dead Parrot, innocent nations trying to enter the region and contribute were ejected, creating a rift in the region that persists to this day;

Annoyed that Wrapper, via protectorate Groot, repeatedly broadcasts the same subversive and redundant message across One Big Island of ‘I am Groot’, which is no doubt intended to undermine or provoke regional leadership;

Convinced that the above evidence shows conclusively that the nation of Wrapper has brought nothing but pain and suffering to all those they have tried to 'help';

Hereby condemns Wrapper.

emigration

You mean immigration?

I'm just going to throw out there that Wrapper did indeed allow new people into Stargate, as he let my nation in and a few others while delegate of Stargate.

OOC: Alright.

1) Are you allowed to call certain persons "tinpot dictators"?

2) Did he allow the raids or did they just happen while he was in power?

3) I think this could pass as long as everything here is true, and given enough time for people to suggest changes.

Hmmmmmm that might need to be reworded then. Did you have to jump through some hoops and answer a bunch of dumb questions or something like that before they let you in? If so then maybe we focus on how hard it is to get in anymore.

Heh heh heh, “while Wrapper stood idly by sitting on its collective hands” or something like that. I like it!

1. Yes. Matter of fact he used exactly those words “tinpot dictators and outlaw states” in the repeal he wrote.

2. Allow. He’s said many times in the past that he refuses to take sides in the R/D world, so no doubt raiders know that having him in the top position would make the region vulnerable, if it wasn’t still locked down. Stargate was a big prize, an ancient founderless region headed by a mod, and if it weren’t for their allies like TNP they’d all be speaking Black Hawkian by now. :)

What in fresh holy hell is this nonsense?

Okay, okay, I know it’s bad form to post here, but a couple of corrections.

Mallorea and Riva wrote:I raided Stargate years ago while Wrapper was living there, I'm sure that can be included somehow.

Actually, no, when I first moved to Stargate you were already Minister of Defense.

Ransium wrote:Denouncing Wrapper for proclaiming to act in the best interest of the region of Stargate during their nearly two-year leadership, while actually allowing the region to be invaded twice, and ultimately locking the region from further immigration, placing the future of the region at risk;

The region was only invaded once during my delegacy. The other time I lost the delegacy was because I’d momentarily switched WA nations during an April Fool’s event and didn’t realize that I didn’t keep my endorsements when I switched back.

The rest... yeah, seems pretty accurate, to the best of my knowledge. Carry on.

Working with Wrapper and TITO to save Monty Python's Flying Circus from destruction was an operation that I reflect upon fondly. Defeating the Swedes and dealing with the shifty Piranha Brothers was a bit of a long battle, but worth it, even if the region had to be locked. I was actually hoping that I could use it as a foot in the door for Wrapper to become a defender :blush:

creating a rift in that region the that persists even until today;

Is it "even until today" or "still to this day" ?

Also, just so you know "nation of ___" or "leadership of ____" is unnecessary to get around R4. You can just say "Wrapper" or "the nominee." And, you don't need to avoid saying the word, "password" - it's R4 compliant.

Fixed the grammar stuff, the other stuff I donno, I guess I find it to be more elegant but I can see how others would find it to be unnecessary wordage.
