"This organization cannot simply make regimes disappear just because some democratic nation from the other isle of the world asked for it."

"Ambassador." Deputy Representative Holt sighs, deeply resenting his requirement to attend Security Council votes. "The World Assembly exercises several powers in addition to giving directives to comply with all passed legislation. The World Assembly Compliance Commission actively investigates potential noncompliance and compiles evidence of member violations for the World Assembly. By the authorities delegated in the Administrative Compliance Act, such violations are subject to heavy, continuing fines scaled to make noncompliance less desirable than compliance. Member states will raise sanctions against you if you do not pay these fines. By the authorities delegated in the World Assembly Justice Accord, this organization's Judicial Committee may hear cases brought against member states or any actors within their jurisdiction for violations of World Assembly law. The courts of this Judicial Committee determine guilt and sentencing for such violations."

Holt leans forward, clearly unimpressed with the individual representing their banana republic. "As a result of your state's broad violations of international law, my nation and much of the World Assembly are inclined not to recognize your state as enjoying the rights associated with World Assembly membership."
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

"As a result of your state's broad violations of international law, my nation and much of the World Assembly are inclined not to recognize your state as enjoying the rights associated with World Assembly membership."

The Youssathian Ambassador was clearly unimpressed after the provocative speech made by Wallenburgian Deputy Representative. He had half the mind to grab a cup of coffee and storm out of this current session, but his assistant calls for him to stand his ground still. Despite vivid protests from the ambassador, he finally sighs, before reluctantly agreeing with his assistant. After all, leaving disgracefully from a Security Council meeting can have negative implications from other WA member states as well. No, he will have to stand his ground from that.

"Ambassador." The Youssathian Ambassador finally regains his composure, before continuing his speech. "After all the money and time spent on feeding the bureaucratic mouths within The World Assembly Compliance Commission, how much good did it do for the international community? My government has been 'creatively complying' with some of the GA resolutions in here and yet, in spite of our defiance to pay those fines, the only effective sanctions that we have received are from nitwits like you who preach every single word in the GA resolution like the Bible! Do you actually think member states will raise sanctions or raise an international tribunal on us, without considering the political and economic repercussions that they might face if they do so? We live in a world where our World Assembly Compliance Commission simply sends us petty letters detailing the compliance of the GA resolutions and nothing more. Ambassador, if you truly want to hit us hard, go ahead and strike the head of the serpent instead by enacting real change."

The ambassador laughs, before mocking the representative once more for his gimmicky tricks. "Or you can declare war on this 'banana republic' as you say under the pretence of 'freedom', then maybe everyone here can see the warmonger that you are. You may not recognize us or my state, Ambassador, but our people and their hopes are real, and many other member-states, WA-affiliated or not, see us this way. We will stand on principles, and we won't stand for a controversial law that has been drafted from the other side of the world."

A feisty goblin watches the discord between the Youssath Ambassador and the Wallenburg Ambassador with glee. He then snatches a copy of the resolution at vote from a bystander, takes a large bite, and poos on the section of the document that reads "This most mighty and august Security Council"

Holt whispers something to the intern with him. The intern guffaws clumsily, but gets back to notetaking when he realizes the deputy's joke wasn't actually that funny.

Holt raises his eyebrow in a sort of puzzled amusement. "Huh, well, that's a statement. Funny that you claim your state to be principled, but violate several World Assembly resolutions despite your promise upon joining this organization to comply with all resolutions. Regardless of that, yes, I expect that near every member state aware of your existence and your noncompliance will enact sanctions against your country, and will comply with directives under other World Assembly legislation on dealing with noncompliant states such as your own. You are not an important person, ambassador, and your nation is not an important nation. There are very few 'repercussions' for carrying out their duties to the World Assembly, especially compared to the fines and sanctions they would enjoy if they did otherwise.

"As to declaring war on your home state, I must disappoint you. My government is neither immature enough nor irrational enough to dedicate its resources to some distant war. In addition, the military is already focused on rebuilding infrastructure in West Wallenburg and guaranteeing enforcement of the same World Assembly resolutions that you flaunt your violation of."

The Youssathian Ambassador grumbles at his assistant for his suggestion to tackle the Wallenburgian Deputy Representative directly. He thought to himself about how most of the SC ambassadors here are pretty much nutjobs when it comes to divergent views, and that how he should have asked for a different job years ago. After the dramatic speech made by the Deputy Representative, the ambassador turns to speak directly back towards him.

"Our legal affairs are none of your business, Ambassador, and how we choose to interpret and ratify GA resolutions into law is solely our own. We joined the World Assembly on the belief of world hegemony and unity against common humanitarian issues, but it seems to me that this Assembly seeks nothing more than to impose neo-liberal ideals on other WA member states. If you call for WA member states to impose economic sanctions on us, we say: 'Let them come!'. Our nation befriends like-minded WA nations with the belief of world hegemony and fair representation in the World Assembly, and you can expect nothing more than condemnation from our government soon as a result from this unruly exchange you have given us during this Security Council session."

"With regards to this commendation, we will still continue to urge WA member states to abstain from voting in this SC resolution, even though some of the ambassadors here continue to support the tyrannical laws upheld by the World Assembly." The ambassador eyed at the Wallenburgian Deputy Representative as he finishes his statement.

The Youssathian Ambassador finally heaves a huge sigh before storming out of the building for today. Before he leaves, however, he distributes pamphlets detailing Youssath's government stance on this resolution. This has been a rough day for him.

Prydania's Sonny Koefed sips some brennivín before addressing the delegation from Youssath.

"Ambassador...it's a sad fact of the world that the governments and political movements most obsessed with projecting strength and defiance only do so from a position of innate weakness. Such as your own government. You rally against the 'inefficient bureaucratic' WA, yet your own job is dependent on your government's membership in it. If your government believed half of your bluster they'd have done the sensible thing and withdrawn. Save themselves the money spent on paying for you and your staff, as well as the cost of complying with the WA resolutions it feels up to enacting."

"And yet here you are, a mouthpiece for a tyrannical government chastising governments 'on the other side of the world.' Well allow me, the representative of a nation in relative close proximity to yours, to echo the sentiments of the governments you have dismissed. Your government, and you by extension, are acting clownish. You flaunt the WA's resolutions. You insult the WA as a body within its own chambers. And yet here you are, Ambassador. Begging and pleading for a voice within it, to have a say in how it conducts its business."

"It's a telling sign from a regime obsessed with bluster to hide its own failings. Again, it would be quite easy, and less costly for your government, to withdraw from the WA. And yet here you are, both insulting the Assembly and while also demanding it considers your point of view. I'm sorry Ambassador, but the delegation from Wallenburg is correct. Why should any nation here entertain your positions when you argue in bad faith? Why should the WA allow you a say in its affairs when your government is so concerned with flaunting its authority?"

"Your regime is a rogue one. One easily sanctioned and fined for its non-compliance. One whose membership in an organization it so desperately insists it despises is continued proof of its own longing for relevance. I'm glad Auralia's commendation is failing by such a wide margin. For many reasons, to be frank. Though one message it sends- that non-compliance won't be met with adoration- is one I'm very happy for."

Ambassador Koefed crumples up the Youssath pamphlet and tosses it in the bin.

I apologize for not making that clear.

"Great, now the vermin in the courts are breeding." The Youssathian Ambassador muttered to himself as the Prydanian ambassador from his very own region stood up to denounce him completely. It won't look good for his nation if his very own regional delegation condemns him in the international stage, he thought. He looked around in the great halls of the Security Council as he walked out of the building, with hundreds of ambassadors from different nations standing bewildered by the very statements he had created. Those who had opposed him glared as he made his way towards the exit, with some even shouting insults or profanities towards him in their own language. The assistant quickly drops the stack of pamphlets and conveys a signal towards the rest of the team: The situation has become dangerous for them to remain here.

The Youssath delegation hastily packed up their documents and left for the main entrance. The assistant, who is the last person to leave the chambers, looked at the angry mob once more and made the following statements.

"We will be recusing ourselves from further debates in this session. It seems to me that the audience here has been profoundly angered by our politically correct statements we have said earlier. To the Wallenburgian Deputy Representative and Prydanian Ambassador, here's the denunciation as promised by our government. Don't expect us to forget this great offence."

The assistant finally leaves the chambers of The Security Council. Whatever happens in this session will be entirely up to them.

OOC: Also it's cool fam, this statement is 100% IC response to whatever you guys have stated and do not reflect my personal views on anyone. My nation represents itself and will change accordingly to the political environment of this world.

What is your guys' problem?
Auralia is a great nation who has contributed more than any of us could ever hope to accomplish, he's literally tied for the most amount of authored resolutions. He's been contributing to this game in an extraordinarily impactful way, literally for years now, much to your benefit.

The blockheads who voted against this proposal only rejected it because he runs a Catholic nation, which means he isn't like the rest of the Godless freaks who infect the WA, and that just won't do it for you lot.

Novo Vaticanus firmly stands by her decision to unabashedly support this commendation of the most highly esteemed Catholic Commonwealth of Auralia.

Just to clarify, it is neither against the rules to commend yourself nor to submit a proposal using a puppet; both are, however, breaches of widely accepted (and stringently enforced) Security Council etiquette.

On the other hand, commending yourself with a puppet whilst multying? That is the issue here.

Tbh, I posted that before I was aware of the multying. I hadn't really been paying much attention to this proposal (or rather the debate thread I suppose) because I was not familiar with Auralia and thus did not feel strongly either way on it, and since it was clear from early on in the vote that it was not going to pass I didn't bother researching for debate. Fulford was correct and I misunderstood both the facts of the situation and what they were saying. You are correct as well that the cheating changes things quite a bit.

So drop the self-righteousness, it comes across as a little pathetic, honestly.

Nah, let’s not.

Good to see that the majority of voters agree that cheats should not prosper.

Eternal grudges. Nice.

Go repeal commendations and condemnations of ex-predator users then, since they’re obviously cheats and we can’t forgive them ever. Thanks.

There’s a difference between eternally holding a grudge and not commending a rulebreaker and a cheat.

Probably the vast majority of commended and condemned individuals have broken rules before.

Like...?

Also, there’s a difference between Predator (most users didn’t know it was illegal) and Auralia’s multiing (kinda hard to try to self commend while multiing unknowingly). The “repeal all their condemns!” doesn’t hold water, given how the big users’ condemns were actually repealed.

I believe most, though not all, of those have been repealed. Thanks.

Things like flaming are against the rules and a lot of commended and condemned people have been warned for it, I’m sure.

I suppose that’s a fair point about Predator. However, I still think it’s ridiculous to hold a grudge this long. Auralia’s extremely impressive resume is not incidental to his one instance of multiing, and we should be able to forgive a mostly harmless mistake like that. The only time a player should have a permanent mark on their record is if they are DOS’d, or have serious OOC issues that the mods can’t enforce. Auralia is neither.

I feel like most people on this forums have been warned for flaming. Multiing is a step above that, imo.
