[PROPOSAL] Condemn Islamic State

Postby North Eurkorea » Sun Jun 18, 2017 5:05 am

North Eurkorea, under non-binding representation of The Communist Bloc through the popular will of its people and for the peace in the world to:

Reaffirm its commitment to sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of all States in accordance with the Charter of the World Assembly, to

Reaffirm that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to peace and security and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivations, whenever, wherever, and by whomsoever committed, to

Reaffirm that terrorism should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group, even if it has a theological basis, to

Condemn terrorists and terrorist groups, in particular the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as Da’esh), Al-Qaida, and associated individuals, groups, undertakings, and entities, for ongoing and multiple criminal terrorist acts aimed at causing the deaths of innocent civilians and other victims, and greatly undermining stability. It is

Deeply concerned by the increasing number of victims, especially among civilians of diverse nationalities and beliefs, caused by terrorism motivated by intolerance or extremism in various regions of the world, reaffirming its profound solidarity with the victims of terrorism and their families, and stressing the importance of assisting victims of terrorism and providing them and their families with support to cope with their loss and grief. It is also:

Gravely concerned that in some cases terrorists or terrorist groups, in particular ISIL, Al-Qaida, and associated individuals, groups, undertakings, and entities continue to profit from involvement in transnational organized crime, and expressing concern that terrorists benefit from transnational organized crime in some regions, including from the trafficking of arms, persons, drugs, and artifacts, and from the illicit trade in natural resources including gold and other precious metals and stones, minerals, wildlife, charcoal and oil, as well as from kidnapping for ransom and other crimes including extortion and bank robbery

I suggest you go and have a read of the rules for the Security Council. Your draft is illegal for a number of reasons.

R3 - no active clause
R4(a) - littered with real world references
R4(d) - not written from the Security Council's point of view.

Edit: Oh I see you've submitted it. Well that's two illegal proposals you've submitted today. I advise withdrawing this latest attempt. If it gets pulled by the Mods then you're two-thirds of the way to losing your WA membership for a year with this nation.

Where are they?

Edit: You still are not saying me where are the rules you quoted here.

Do you mean these ones: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8809?

If so:

R3: it is actually a condemn.
R4(a): And what is not?
R4(d): What's the World Assembly view according to you? Is not it about promoting communication between nations?

*sighs*

Yes, we can see that.

What BBD said is that it needs an operative clause.

Which means it should end with "hereby condemns blahblahland" or something similar.

Rules do not stipulate the order of the sentence.

Taking a real entity in a fictional world also involves taking fictitious sentences against such fictitious entity based on reality. You can criticize the communist bloc according to its economic policy based on what is Marxism and you can also use religious slogans. This speaks neither of the geopolitical reality nor of a reality-based fact, but of the Islamic State as a forerunner of terrorism, in the abstract.

You refer to ISIL, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, and Da'esh, all names that the region Islamic State has not adopted. That makes these real life references. You refer to Al-Qaida (misspelled, by the way), which neither exists as a nation nor a region. That makes it a real life reference. You refer to terrible actions committed by terrorist groups, but none of these have been done by the region you target. That makes these real life references.

Of course yes. "Da'esh" is, by the way, is an acronym of the above, in Arabic, therefore it is not improper to use it as an entity known in reality. On the other hand, and if you knew to read Arabic you would read it as "Al-Qa'ida" (https://translate.google.es/?hl=es#ar/e ... 8%AF%D8%A9), so you are who spelled it wrong.

The Islamic State is the State that acts justly terrorist acts in different countries of the world through representatives who so desire. They can immolate themselves, they can kill people and they can perform other types of acts. As they are related, the fiction in itself also unites them.

All of which has nothing to do with the region you have nominated. They've just named themselves after Islamic State. You cannot condemn them for real world actions.

Ok. Let's try that again.

You need an operative clause. That means your resolution needs to end with "Hereby Condemns Islamic State".

Have a look at literally any other passed condemnation. E.g. "Hereby Condemns The Black Hawks."

Hello there. I know there has been animosity between us for a while. I just want to begin my apologizing. I'm sorry for having screwed up so badly, wand having wasted so much of your time. I realize that only now, after a bunch of BS which happened in my life that those proposals were BS. Although I still want to re-iterate that no one helped write the proposal literally. That's all.

It is inherent to its own name: "Islamic State"; "Islam" etc. Not to speak of the real world under a fiction, one should also eliminate the glimpse of reality from the name of such a region.

You should read the dictionary to know what a clause is and you should also read the rules to know that the very reason for the sentence should not end with your scheme (according to the rules)

We support this proposal and urge all other peace loving nations to condemn the IS. Thank you comrades for bringing this important topic up.

This proposal is one big step in bringing to attention the capitalist puppet masters of IS, who founded them and give them support: Saudi Arabia, EU, Turkey and the USA.

May the antifascist struggle against the religious fanatics of Daesh be victorious!
