So I have a bit of a general rules query that I’m rather curious about. Would it be legal to reference American Football in reference to the NSS sport? Like if someone were writing a c&c for an NSS person and was listening tournament wins in an American Football event, would that still not be allowed for the use of the rl nation of “American”? I’m honestly not sure because it doesn’t necessarily refer to America in any way, only a sport that has the nations name in its name. Anyway, I’m just curious how this would work.

As long as it's clearly the name of the sport, I don't see an issue with it.

Makes sense. Thank you so much! ^_^

You could also call it gridiron football, which accomidates non-American gridiron football like Canadian football.

Where can I find old proposals that failed-- for example they didn't reach 61 or so votes?
Are they archived or kept around here somewhere?

Bear in mind this one hasn't been fully updated and kept to reflect current events. Additionally, you can comb through the WA Archives and search for proposals with [DEFEATED] in the title.

OS is talking about defeated proposals (I plan to update the list in about a week or so). Imperium Anglorum has archived (almost) every proposal submitted to either chamber since the beginning of 2019 here, regardless of whether or not they reached quorum - and Agletgreenia wants to find out more about inquorate proposals. (The first ten years of inquorate SC proposals - especially the undrafted and otherwise legal ones - have, alas, largely been lost.)

Inquorate proposals span way longer and obviously IA's handy archive is really helpful. There wouldn't be a thread on NS for that largely since there are many proposals submitted that are marked illegal or fail to garner much support.

Thank you both! That's enough for me to go on! Thanks!

Can I have a clarification/past cases regarding the minimum requirement to satisfy rule 1b (relevant argument)? (For example, is "Noting that Nation X is bad" enough to satisfy this?) I'm trying to character golf an SC resolution & input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I think the best thing to do is to draft your resolution on the forums and then get community feedback.

You should have a bigger argument, but “Noting that Nation X is bad” is sufficient argument.

Most aren't usually - April Fools does usually bring a spike in people wanting to submit jokes.

What code do we use to start a repeal proposal?

You visit the proposal you want to repeal, and there's a repeal button at the bottom.

No, I mean what type of code do we use to start a repeal proposal, not how to repeal it.

Whatever code you want >·>. It doesn't matter what code you use or how you write it, most people just link the resolution that's being repealed in the text anyways.

Edit: Meaning
Code: Select all
resolution name
to link to the proposal.

It's automatic when it posts the resolution to the floor, we don't code that ourselves.

Also, can you help me on this resolution:

The World Assembly,

Noting that Security Council Resolution 31 was passed during 2010,

Discovering that the nation condemned by this resolution has ceased to exist,

Summarizing that this resolution can no longer be continued due to the ultimate destruction of the condemned nation,

Hereby repeals "Condemn Der Fuhrer Dyszel".

Post this as a draft in a separate thread... or don't because this is gonna get a big shitstorm in its direction. Ceasing to exist is not a reason to lose a badge.
