Like what others have previously said, the author is on a badge hunt. Although it is nice to see new authors in the SC, I really wish that they would have more creative candidates for C&Cs. Commending the biggest (and arguably most successful) GCR is a very obvious and banal choice for a commendation. It was as if the author was looking for the easiest entity to commend in order to get a badge.

Most of this commendation seems to commend the nominee just for being big and powerful. That isn't worth commending a region over.
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

This resolution comes across as a little self-serving, but sure, I'll vote yes... our region is pretty great after all. ;)

Although I also fully support this proposal, it is not wise to just support the proposal because it is your home region. This proposal has mostly credibly points that lead to the worthiness of the commendation of TNP, although there is one small controversy over the liberation thing, where our delegate, Plembobria has sent an extensive telegram to everyone on the TNP on the situation.

I wasn't serious, i'm not stupid.

Seriously though, yes we were very successful, but that is no reason to get a commendation. At what point is a region not successful enough to be commended?

Tinhampton wrote:The creation of a Bill of Rights which recognises national sovereignty

Many regions guarantee the protection of rights to its residents, I don't see why this one is so special.
Tinhampton wrote:A regional constitution, which has changed over the years but which has consistently ensured that TNP remains a free, democratic and open region

Once again, nothing special here. Are we going to commend every region with a constitution now?
Tinhampton wrote:Upholding the rule of law and the supremacy of the legislature

Listing basic features of a stable and structured region is now something commendable?
Tinhampton wrote:NOTICING that TNP is now home to many Commended nations

If I were to run a hotel, would I take credit for my guests' accomplishments? I don't think so. Besides, so what if the region has a few commended nations, I wouldn't be so surprised considering how many nations reside there.
Tinhampton wrote:OBSERVING that TNP is unusual in having a voluntary, official regional religion: Flemingovianism

Is that really something noteworthy though? Just because it doesn't happen often, doesn't mean it should be commended. Are there any genuine benefits to having a regional religion?

Following these criticisms, the Turkic Union of the Central Asian Republics has decided to vote Against this commendation.

The North Pacific commendation issue

Postby Trevekkia » Thu Mar 16, 2017 2:52 pm

My feelings are that because this is a feeder region, they should be commended for being a cool place to co-exist with your fellow nations...like MOST every other region. Would I make a World Assembly issue out of it? Not really...I don't fully understand all this talk about stamps and badges (but I can surmise what that's about - especially badges, but "badges? we don't NEED no stinkin' BADGES.") I think TNP is a good region and better for being a starter region and not being as corrupt as The West Pacific. However, do I want to start singing its praises for being like a majority of the smaller regions with a bigger region? I dunno..I see no harm in commending them, I know it's gotta be tough for a region that large. I just don't find it very inspiring since there are only so many feeder regions. But sure, I'll commend.

Yes. However, a closer examination will reveal that this also refers to puppets. MousePony, a puppet of Mousebumples, resides in TNP (AFAIK).

Voting* against because it was the South Pacific Socialist Republic, not the South Pacific People's Republic, that the NPA helped defeat.

Yes, I'm a pedant.

*As an individual. I happen to be in agreement with other WA nations in Taijitu, for whatever reasons they may have.

Indeed, their coup of the South Pacific Socialist Republic was far from commendable. That they couldn't even get the name right is unfortunate.

So, you really think that the West Pacific is corrupt? If that is your genuinely held view then I have to respond by telling you that you have a distinct lack of comprehension of the way we work and doubt your ability to think things through very clearly. In addition, your obvious woeful lack of knowledge of the way that the WA works leads me to the conclusion that you are in no position to make sensible or cogent comment one way or the other on it.

I'm not a cheater, though. That is an outright LIE, madame.

The resolution *did* reference TNP's help in replacing Milograd's Socialist Republic with the native Coalition. The text of the resolution is available in the first post on the first page of this thread.
